Radio Times:
... week when you can get similar listings magazines for less than 40p, and indeed the information is available for free online. The joy of the Radio Times is the quality of its listings. It covers a great many TV channels (I still remember the days when it only covered BBC1 and BBC2 - you had to alsio buy the TV Times to see what was on ITV and Channel 4 - this was the days before satellite and cable TV). In addition... Read the full review: Radio Times by vernonpresley |

Radio Times ... the Radio Times was first published it only carried listings of BBC radio programmes and when TV was launched it remained the only publication allowed to list what was on on the BBC due to the limited use of listings by copyright. The BBC did not allow other publications to use them probably fearing competition and perhaps feared that one day there would be free distribution of such lists. When ITV started the Radio Times ignored the new upstart and only published its own programme listings and the TV Times was launched to do the same for ITV. How it has all changed now. As with the TV Times the Radio Times now lists both BBC and ITV programmes and even satellite, d... Read the full review: Radio Times by polydeuces |

It does not really list every programme which is on and most of its pages are taken up with useless information about programmes and actors. Everybody who is a sky tv customer recieves this magazine but to be honest I think the free magazines and tv guides which come with the weekend papers are of higher quality! I like to look at the film section to see what is on for the month ahead and the Christmas magazine is usually a bumper issue of better quality. This magazine is really just an advertisment ... Radio Times ... Radio Times (RT) has been around a long time and has seen many changes. It was first published in 1920 and is so called because the nation only had radio at that time. It wasn t until 1936 that we saw our first TV broadcast, which saw the first change to the Radio Times in that TV listings were included. As there was no ITV or BBC2 until much later, listings only included BB1. That said, programmes only ran from 3pm until the final programme, which was the news at 10pm. 1955 saw the launch of ITV and subsequently, the TV Times, which covered all ITV listings. It wasn t until 1991 that both magazines saw sense and decided to print TV listings for all the current chann... Read the full review: More than a TV Magazine by Picasso |
