Tweenies I bought a copy of this for work!

We are doing a project on old and new things. I bought this as it caught my eye in the magazine rack in tescos it has a bright lively cover. The special needs kids I work with like bright things and I wanted something that would catch and maybe hold their interests for 1 or 2 minutes,

This is a BBC magazine/comic about the tweenies, which is a TV programme. This is a programme I know some of my pupils are familiar with so the characters are ones they know.
. Let me introduce you to the Teenies fizz, Bella Milo Jake these are friendly looking characters looking like soft cuddly toy dolls (you can actually buy the dolls one of my pupils regularly brings hers to school.)

This comic has 24 pages on this magazine there is a free pair of maracas are quite good, each edition has a toy I think chalks, crayons and similar things. On the inside page is Milo’s shaky Sambal a rhyme for the children to shake their free maracas to.

There is a story for you to read to your little ones this week its about Bellas sore throat lots of sore throats about at the moment. This story is on a bright yellow page and has lots of bright characters.
There is a page with a craft activity on it. Pictures to colour in.

I quite liked this magazine as it is bright and cheerful attractive to the children they all seemed to enjoy it.
My children are non-readers but they were interested when I read the words to them and showed them the pictures.

I think that this would be a fair buy for children occasionally to try and interest them in the written word. The articles were ones that you could explore with your child. Talk about the things the Tweenies do; identify the colours in the magazine.
I think this magazine might help to ease the boredom for your child on a long journey.
This magazine comes out once a month and costs £1.45p I think that’s a fair price. Suitable for children aged somewhere between 2 and 5.
my kids enjoyed this as a lot of them are familiar with tyhe characters and the pictures are bright and cheerfull

Thanks for reading Mary

I'd have liked to read how the special needs kids responded to the magazine; if they had any favourite pages and so on.

I just wish they wouldn't give away useless toys on the front of these magazines. I don't need more junk in the house!
