Advantages: 5 minnutes of escapism

Disadvantages: Totally unrealistic for many.

I Too, won a subscription to Vogue, a magazine which previously I had only glanced at while waiting at the doctors or dentist. At first I was really excited and couldn't wait for the mag to arrive. Now I Know better. The mag is packed with big, glossy adverts, often the same ones , month after month, There are then pages of fashion shoot pictures featuring the skinniest of models in the skimpiest of garments.( all at ridiculous prices)

The "Living " section is a bit more readable and bearable with expensive gadget reviews , recipes and travel articles. Again this is high end stuff, and almost certainly way out of budget for most of the population.

The Property section serves as an eye opener.
Most properties featured are in the South East, are priced in the millions rather than the thousands. For me this is pure escapism and totally unrealistic.

Vogue seems to be aimed at the rich or famous, or the more vain amongst us who care what mag can be placed on their coffee table.
