Advantages: shows step by step on how to build a web site, it is not only for beginners

Disadvantages: I couldnt do it!

Wanting to do a web page and not knowing the first thing about it I was pleased when I saw in the newsagents a magazine called Web Pages made easy. It also had a free CD on it which said it contains your complete web creation kit.

Although this magazine was, what I think anyway, expensive, I thought the £4.99 would be well worth it if I had a good web page at the end of the day.

The magazine advertises the best web site building software such as dreamweaver, and web editor.

It has articles for

Beginners, making a simple web site, constructing your site and getting your site on the net.

Improvers - exploring photoempact7, making a logo, getting your site listed by search engines and creating a web photo gallery.

Advanced - build a great site with Golive and stylish sites with dreamweaver.

eBusiness - creating a centre of excellence and a web catalogue.

With all this surely I could not go wrong.

So armed with the magazine and the web CD I start to give it a go.

I managed 1 - 5 which was a great heading and then things started to go wrong. The screens that were supposed to come up didnt and I could not find the ones that should. I tried for a couple of hours.

After restarting and going through it all again I still got no further.

I will do a website but think I will give up on following the instructions for it in this magazine.

It does feature sites that other readers have done but they dont necessarily say that they were done with the magazine from scratch. On the other hand perhaps it can be done and I will do it.

If anyone like me has been to the website of friends reunited - schools - there is a very good item on the man behind this site which was also web site of the year.

The reviews of hardward is very good and thorough in this magazine. It gives a write up and The Verdict with 1 - 5 stars on price, features, ease of use a
nd if its value for money.

The magazine is all about web site building and that is the articles you mainly get.

Having read it through, even though I didnt do the web site, I do feel that it could be worth the money I paid for it in the long run.
