When I first got engaged, just under a year ago, I went on a mad shopping spree buying every wedding magazine I could lay my hands on! This went on for a couple of months until I realised that all the magazines are practically the same and I didn't need to buy anymore. Wedding and Home is one of the more established Bridal publications; the issue I bought cost £3.90 and I do feel that was a tad on the pricey side. Ok the magazine is thick, over 300 pages, however the old saying 'Quality NOT Quantity springs to mind: there are a lot of adverts. If you like pages and pages and pages of dresses then this magazine would be up your street, however I'd prefer to have more practical advice to help me prepare for this ever-becoming-more-stressful event! Most of the magazine is dedicated to wedding dresses, not much of the magazine covers the home side of things (so don't be deceived by the title). It is really more of a fashion magazine (and most of the dresses are really expensive). The issues the magazine covers are fashion, hair & beauty tips, flowers, venues, planning advice, and honeymoons. I don't feel that any of the articles went into much depth or detail and most of the suppliers are London based; there is not much focus on the regions. That said, the directory of suppliers at the back is useful and there are a number of website addresses which I followed up. Wedding and Home is good for getting ideas on themes and dresses, however there is not much substance to it. Each issue is a variation of the same, there is not much to inspire me to buy another copy.
