Advantages: Success stories provide excellent motivation

Disadvantages: Number of adverts

The WeightWatchers (WW) magazine is a monthly title that is aimed at those who are following a WW plan. It is billed as the UK's biggest selling slimming title and costs £1.75 to buy at meetings or £2.60 to buy elsewhere.

Every month the magazine features a cover star, the cover star is a 'real' person, who has lost weight by following the WW plan, there is also usually a 4-5 page spread on the cover star, where they tell you how they have lost weight and give hints and tips etc.

The magazine is packed with feel good stories, the latest issue (June 2009) feature no less than 5 sucess stories which are fantastic for motivating people, its refreshing to see normal people suceeding, and I don't know about anyone else, but it certainly spurs me on to do well.

Also included in the magazine are stack loads of receipes which are easy to follow and provide low pointed meals. This provides the dieters with new ideas for meal times and helps to keep the diet fresh.

There is a section dedicated to looking good, much like you would find in any glossy magazine, features clothes, hairstyles, beauty products etc, and also exercise plans to help the dieter get to their goal weight.

Along with all this are countless articles on various weight loss subject.

All in all, it is the perfect companion to the WW diet, it helps keep things fresh and reinforces ideals. It provides excellent motivation from real life successes and various interesting articles.

I would say that the only thing that lets it down is the number of adverts, I can understand them advertising products which give fresh idea's such as low point foods etc, but a lot of them are totally irrelivant to weight loss.

Summary: A must read for everyone following the WeightWatchers plan!
