Advantages: OK to flick through with a cup of tea
Disadvantages: Most of the magazine!
This is not a magazine I would buy myself, however, my Mother In Law buys it an passes it along to me when she has finished with it.
A new issue is out every Tuesday costing 90p.
The magazine is an OK read but I usually flick through it just reading the odd story so it doesn't take me long to get through but it is good to sit down with a cup of tea and have a flick through it!
The magazine is set out as follows:
The first page is the contents of the magazine with a 'Hello' from the editor.
The next two pages then cover the main 'celebrity' stories of the week. When I say celebrities it is usually ex soap stars, the Beckhams and Colleen Nolan, basically any so called celebrity you might find in the jungle!!!! This page often also contains a competition or freebie such as make-up or in this weeks edition a free glass of wine.
There is then usually an interview with a so-called celebrity about what they are up to at the moment.
Next there is usually a story about a celebrity which I don't normally read as it is normally just speculation and not actually the celeb' views!
Next is 'Woman Watercooler' where a question is asked and they get a celeb's view on it then three of their readers also comment. This weeks question is 'Should the Strictly result be based on talent alone?' As you can see it is a very important issue that is being dealt with!!!!!!
There are then a few more 'celeb' stories and interviews before, for me, the worst part of the magazine - 'Let's Talk with Coleen'! I usually skip through this pretty quickly as I am really not interested in what Coleen Nolan does all week and am really not interested in her opinion on other so called celebs but I suppose some people might like her!
We then go into the 'real life' stories which are usually the main part of the magazine worth reading. There are usually three or four stories normally one will be about weight loss!
There is then a letters page where each one printed gets £20 and the 'Letter of the Week' gets £50.
There are then a few pages about diet and weight loss, style and beauty products, homewares and money saving tips.
There is always at least once recipe in the magazine and then a couple of pages about food and an interview with a 'celeb' about their favourite foods.
Next is 'Dr Chris' Clinic'. Dr Chris off this morning answers peoples medical problems and talks about various current medical issues.
There is then a problem page with one answered by Claire King who used to be on Emmerdale (!) and another by a 'sexpert'!
There are usually then some adverts before a quick look at DVD's, books etc that are released this week. There is always a DVD and a CD reviewed by readers of the magazine.
Next are the puzzles with a crossword in which you can with £200 plus a sudoku and other puzzle that are just for fun, The star signs are usually on this page too.
There is then a review of the 'Must-see TV' which always looks at the soaps and casualty/holby city and just gives a few words about other things that are coming up on TV in the future.
There is then a page of 'celeb's' attending parties and events that week (why we need to know this I'm not too sure!) before the final page of Alison Hammond talking about 'celeb's' she has met!
The magazine contains a few adverts but not too many, they are easy to flick passed if you are not interested.
.....Having just read back my review I've actually realised that I don't really like this magazine at all and only read it because it is given to me for nothing! I don't think it is aimed at me at all!
Summary: Not a magazine really aimed at me and I would not pay for it.
