Advantages: Lots of modern, interesting designs

Disadvantages: Not too many designs for real beginners

This magazine is just about to reach its 250th issue - which isn't bad going for a magazine that is only published 13 times a year!

The magazine has a good mix of cross stitch charts at various skill levels. It doesn't tend to have a lot of choice for the real beginner except the christmas issues when lots of people pick up magazines like this one in the hope that they will be able to create those wonderful handmade christmas cards!!

For those people who also like the written word in the magazine there is a letters page, usually an article on a cross stick designer, a reader article on how cross stictching has changed their lives, a crossword and a message board.

There is a free gift with each copy. This can vary from a mini kit - which I tend to save up and then take on holiday with me - to card blanks or chart books.

The pictures and charts in the magazine are really clear and most of the designs I really would love to sew if time and money allowed.

If you are looking for a magazine with clear, simple, modern designs then give this magazine a look at, and if you really like it take up the subsription offer as it makes the magazine much cheaper and they give you a free gift for subscribing
