Disadvantages: two month old news

I bought this magazine for about four months before finally giving up on it. The quality of the articles are atrocious. They try to be cool and hip but just come off under-researched. Bill Apter has lost his touch. I don't understand why he'd put his name to somthing so terrible. The news columns are filled with two month old hearsay, trying to create a veil of mystery with a 'read between the lines' style of writing.

It fails on all accounts and comes across that they don't actually know anything. The writers attempts at humour are pointless pieces of tripe. If you want to read up-to-the minute reports on wrestling go to pwtorch.com or to wrestlingobserver.com. The sites are run by the the most famous writers in wrestling, Wade Keller and Dave Meltzer. I strongly reccomend visiting them on a daily basis.

If you want real insider gossip though, get a subscription to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. It's weekly and costs less than the mess that is WOW. It's written by Dave Meltzer who knows more than anyone on the subject of wrestling. Details are on the obsrver site.

pwtorch and wrestlingobserver.com are two of my favourite sites. Dave Meltzer is the man! I agree with your review on certain levels. A lot of WOW is just pretty little pictures and it can lack substance.

'dirt-sheet' was a term used for them about ten years ago by higher-ups in the wrestling business who hated them for giving away details about what goes on behind the scenes.

Btw, is the Observer newsletter a so-called "dirtsheet"?
