I have to say, I don't really paint my nails all that often. I find it to be a tedious thing to do and most of the time, I can think of better things to spend my money on. Well on this occasion, I actually didn't have anything better to spend my money on and while having a browse in the Boots make up section, this nail polish caught my eye.

It was the colour that did it really. A deep purple, that is called 'Amaretto' made me want to buy it and in an unusual bout of spontaneity I decided I was going to paint my nails! So buy it I did, at a very reasonable price of somewhere around £3 for an 8ml bottle, give or take a few pennies.

When I first used it, it seemed fine. I got an even coverage over my nails and two coats of it did the trick. The consistency of the polish was perhaps a bit runny, but it wasn't too much of a problem. I don't really remember how long it took to dry, but it wasn't ages. Not so long it was irritating anyway.The colour came out very well, just the same as it was in the bottle. No streaks or anything like that. Fine and dandy!

The problems came the next day. 17 claims that this nail polish will last 5 days and is chip resistant. Plus it says on the front of the bottle 'Lasting Fix'. HA! It chipped extremely easily. Within one day it had started to chip and peel and looked downright tacky. I have to say, I was quite dissapointed with it as nail polish I've used in the past has lasted me up to 3 weeks.

On the other hand, this product does come in some really great colours, which I suppose could make up for the bad quality. But maybe not. I'm not sure how many, but they're all vibrant colours which are likely to catch your eye. 'Amaretto' was my personal favourite.

To be honest, I doubt I'll be buying this again. The colour was nice and it looked ok at first but I need a nail polish that will last if I'm going to use one at all. I can't normally be bothered to put nail polish on anyway and if I have to keep reappying every 2 days my nails would definitely stay bare. I'll finish up the bottle, as I'm not one to waste money but if I was to buy some more, I'd invest a bit more money into something that would last me a bit longer.
