      Wet Look Lacquer Eye Liner

The Product = = = = = = = The product is part of the 17 range which is Boots own brand of make-up. The 17 range is quite large and has a large range of products in the range including Mascara, Eye Shadow, Lip Stick/Gloss, Nail Polish, and Liquid Foundation, Pressed powder, Bronzing rocks, Eye Liner and more. I have purchased a few items from the 17 range before and tend to find some of their items really good value in comparison with other well-known branded products. Some of their products are great, whereas some aren't so great. I currently use the liquid foundation and pressed powder in this range and have done for a number of years now. The product I am reviewing is a Wet Look Lacquer Eye Liner. I saw this product on special offer a few weeks ago but have only just recently purchased it. The wet look eye liner gives a wet look upon drying and gives a lacquered edge to any eye look. It can be used either as a liner or with a crème shadows to create a glossy/wet look. I often wear liquid eyeliner when I wear false lashes as liquid liner is perfect to use to help blend the false lashes in and look like your own. I loved the sound and look of this product which is why I decided to purchase it. The liner is quite tall and looks quite pricey for the price I actually paid for it. There is a small black bottle which holds the liquid liner and then there is a very tall handle which holds the small brush which sits upright in the bottle. On the front of the bottle it states what the product is. To find a list of ingredients and how to apply the product all this information is on the box that the liner comes in. Price/Availability = = = = = = = = = The Eye Liner is made by 17 which is Boots own brand so can only be purchased from Boots store or from their website. The liner cost me £3.99 which I think is very reasonable, when compared to other brands of liquid eye liner. Using the Product = = = = = = = = = = After applying most of my make-up apart from Mascara I got ready to apply the liner. The lid unscrews really easily to reveal a short but slightly stiff brush. The brush is covered in a good amount of the line ready to apply. I do wipe the brush on the side of the bottle to ensure there isn't too brush and also to ensure that it doesn't drip. I drew a line as close to my upper lash liner as possible. The brush applied the product really easy without the brush flicking small specks of the liquid liner everywhere. As the brush is quite small and thin it was really easy to get really close to the upper lash line. As I applied the product it looked really shiny and I figured that it would need a few minutes to dry. The liner felt quite wet when applying it and it also felt a little cold against my eyelid. Results = = = = = After I had finished applying the liner and finishing the look off with some mascara I looked at the results. The liner definitely had the wet look to it as stated on the packaging. The liner was very black and had a slight shine to it which looked good. In terms of the liner lasting it lasted well throughout the night without coming off or me having to re-apply it. The liner didn't smudge and it stayed looked great all night and looked as good as it did when I first put it on. The liner didn't irritate my eyes or make them sore or dry. Removing the liner wasn't as easy as removing pencil liner or other liquid liners. I wiped my eyes with a Simple facial wipe and at first none of the liner came off. I rubbed my eye a few times and the liner than started to come off but it came off in like small clumps. I did have to rub my eyes much more to get this liner off than what I would with other liquid liners. Overall Opinion = = = = = = = = = The liquid liner was long lasting and looked great when finishing the look off with very black mascara. The product was really easy to apply, even for the first time and it went on really easily. My eyes looked great all night and I didn't have to worry about taking the product out with me as I didn't need re-apply it at any stage during the evening. The product is a little harder to remove than other eye products and this did mean I had to rub my eye's a little harder than normal in order to get it off, which can sometimes irritate my eyes and make them slightly sore. In terms of values I think the product is reasonably priced and is much cheaper compared to other brands such as Bourjois, Maybelline and more. I only draw a thin line on my eye-lids but this would look great if you want a thicker line as the brush is really precise and I do like the fact that the liner still looks wet, even though it's not. This product may not be the best liner I have purchased before but it does what it claims to. After my experience of using this product I rate it 3 out of 5 stars (review also on ciao)
