A staple blush that will leave you looking radiant!

Blusher, in my opinion is a staple for the make up bag - one sweep across the apples of the cheeks can create a faux radiant glow - because we can't all be natural beauties! I find it hard to match a blusher to my complexion as I am very fair with blonde hair and blue eyes so coral and pink toned blushers completely wash me out or make me look like coco the clown rather than Coco Chanel!

I have tried most blushes available to man (or woman I should say) including, cheek stains which I worried would turn out to be a real stain and be permanently on my cheek like a tattoo, cream blushes that faded too quickly and appeared dry in patches so I soon found that powder blushes suited me down to the ground - now all I had to do was find the perfect shade. Not as easy as it sounds.

Patrolling around my local Superdrug the following day, I spent an age looking at each make up shelf individually and swatching different blushes all up my arms so by the end of it I looked like I had measles! I ended up buying a few but once I tried them all properly I fell in love with the 2true Blush in Shade No 1 and here is why. . .

Presented in a cute, compact oval case measuring roughly 2 inches in diameter it is just the right size to keep in your handbag or like me - my school blazer for a touch up during the day. The design is simple yet effective - with a shiny black background that is easy to wipe and keep clean, with the pink '2true' logo emblazoned on the front. On the back is a little sticker that tells you the shade "No 1" (I believe there is a "No 2" as well), it also states that this blusher is "long lasting and easy to blend." A nifty little trick they have is if you peel back the sticker just a bit the ingredients are displayed underneath like a low budget Jack-in-the-box! The packaging is sturdy which is what I love about it - so many times in the past I have put a blusher in my bag only to find it has erupted and all my belongings were now powder pink - try telling the boss that one!

On opening the blusher the colour looks as though it is going to be very bright and bold - I would describe it as salmon pink with a hit of strawberry tones. Using an angled blusher brush I started off with just a tiny bit to see how it went, but once on, the colour is absolutely gorgeous! It appears to be more on the rouge side and complements my fair complexion perfectly, however a friend of mine who has olive skin also tried this and it was beautiful on her too - so a real all rounder! You can build up as little or as much as you like and I find it helps to blend it out with a large fluffy brush if you find your over done it slightly!

I have been using this blusher for over 3 years now and will continue until they stop making it! Recently I have been mixing it with a bit of a Terracotta blush I was bought for an extra summer glow and I find they work well together! The other great aspect of this blush is the price! Its £1.99 on its own but if you buy three things from the 2true range they work out at 3 for £5 saving you some of your hard earned cash!

Available at Superdrug or Superdrug.com, if your looking for a blush to give you that summer glow - then here you go!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Looks nice for a while, but don't expect it to last.

Most products by 2True are pretty cheap and they often have great offers on so I like to experiment with them a lot.
This 2True blusher has both positive and negative aspects to it.
The colour of the blusher looks pretty red and like it would look almost too much, and I was slightly worried that it may look pretty tacky. However once applied I was pretty pleased with how it looked, once it has been blended in, it gives just the right amount of colour, it is noticeable, but not too much.
The negative though, is that the product once applied stays on for a very little time, mine had faded a lot within only an hour. The product is not very good for on the go either because the compact doesn't come with an applicator brush, which for the price is fair enough, but as it fades so quickly, it is very hard to touch up on throughout the day.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Good for the money

Blusher is something that I don't generally have in my make up bag, I have thought about trying it in the past but am always concerned I will end up looking like a clown, however a few weeks ago I went for my make up trial ready for my wedding and they put blusher on me, I was quite impressed with how it looked and decided to go for it and buy myself some and have a go. I didn't want to spend loads of money on it in case I didn't get on with it so I decided to go for Superdrugs own range of make up and selected a blusher from the 2 True range. The colours they had seemed suitable for my colouring and they were very reasonably priced meaning it didn't really matter if I didn't like it.

        Packaging
All of the packaging that the make up comes in from the 2 True range is quite simple and basic, the blusher was no different, it comes in a small black oval shaped plastic case, it has a clear plastic oval in the lid which allows you to see the colour of the blusher inside, just below this are the words 2 True in shiny pink writing, that is literally it for the information on the front of the case, as I said very basic in appearance. On the back is an oval shaped black sticker with white writing on it, this again says the words "2 True" with the shade number just below, I selected Shade number 1. Just below this is a sentence saying "True Colour Blusher Long Lasting Easy to Blend" again this is in the same white writing. Thee label does peel to reveal a list of ingredients underneath, written in white making them very easy to read on the black background. That is literally it for the information about the product. The lid of the case simply lifts from the front and clicks back into place, underneath the lid is a oval metal tray holding the block of blusher, there is a place in front of the tray suitable for holding a small applicator, although it would have to be very small, however the blusher does not come with an applicator at all.

        The Blusher
The blusher I chose was shade number 1, it was a dark pink colour, not too red and quite natural looking which was what I wanted to avoid the 'clown look'. The blusher comes in an oval shaped block and has a slight powdery smell although nothing too strong or over powering. Although the blusher was compressed into a tight block it was very easy to loosen with a powder brush and transformed into a fine pink powder. There were about 3 shades to choose from when I brought my blusher, all of which were pink colours however there may be more shades in the 2 True range, my local Superdrug just happened to stock 3 of these.
        My Opinion
When I first used the blusher, I ran my powder brush over the oval shaped block to loosed some of the powder, I first noticed how easily the blusher did loosen and change into a powder, in fact I did think it loosened a little too easily and I often ended up with too much of the blusher on the brush. To start with I applied several light coats of the blusher until I had built the colour up to the right shade for me, as I applied the blusher to my cheeks I noticed how easy it was to apply and how well it blended, especially when I build the colour up gradually with several lighter coats, the blusher glided easily over my skin to give a natural looking colour rather than a bright red clown like appearance. I was certainly impressed with how easy the blusher was to apply, as I have said its not something I usually wear but I found it easy to apply first time. The next test was going to be how well it lasted, I wore the blusher to work applying it first thing in the morning, by the end of the day the blusher had faded a bit but was still very noticeable proving it to be quite long lasting, I'm not sure how it would compare to a more expensive brand but I was pleased with how well it lasted especially as it was so cheap to buy. I have worn the blusher for several weeks now, and have been extremely pleased with the overall appearance of it. if I had to pick a disadvantage it would be that the blusher although compact into a block does tend to loosen a bit too much, because of this I have found that I am going through the block rather quickly, a bit too quickly for my liking, meaning that in this way it is not that economical or long lasting, the 2 True blusher lasts well on your skin but not generally due to some of it being wasted through it loosening to a powder too easily. I found the blusher very gentle on my skin and I had not reaction to it whatsoever. Overall I would recommend the 2 True blusher especially if like me you want to try it for the first time, the colours are of a natural shade that would suit most skin types and it is very easy to apply, it also lasts well on your skin, my only problem with it is its a bit on the soft side and loosens to a powder a bit too easily meaning quite a bit is wasted.
        Price
The 2 True range is a superdrugs range so obviously this is where I purchased it from, the small case of blusher cost me just £1.99 (this is what most of the items in this range cost) I felt this was an excellent price, especially if I found that I did not get on with blusher as it meant i had not wasted too much money. I wouldn't really say the blusher is that long lasting and the powder crumbles easily meaning it is wasted, however replacing the blusher is not going to cost you too much.
I would definitely use the 2 True blusher again, it was the perfect option for me not having worn blusher before, it is very reasonably priced and simple to apply I had no problems at all, you do however need to use your own applicator as it does not come with one, but what do you expect for £1.99, I would certainly recommend this product to anyone.
