Advantages: Very cheap, versatile product, pack doesn't leak

Disadvantages: Not as good quality as Benefit version

I was lucky enough to go to Glastonbury this year for the first time ever, and despite assurances from friends that I wouldn't care what I looked like after a couple of days in the mud (or dust, as it turned out), I was determined to take some makeup with me. I wasn't, however, willing to take my expensive makeup such as my Benetint (although clearly not everyone feels the same - I passed one girl sitting on the grass applying makeup from a bag filled with Chanel), so instead popped down to Superdrug and got a cheap mascara, as well as this 2True Cheek n' Lip Tint.

2True is a company that produces very cheap makeup which is sold in Superdrug. All products cost £1.95 each. or it is possible to buy three items for £5. At £1.95 I thought that it wouldn't matter if the product got destroyed or lost during the week!

The Cheek n'Lip Tint is available in two colours, red and pink, obviously meant to imitate Benefit's Benetint and Posietint. I chose the red version (although Dooyoo have chosen the pink version for their display picture) as a versatile product which I could use on my cheeks and my lips while I was away.

The bottle is clear which means it is easy to see the product inside and how much you have left. The name of the product is printed on the bottle. Like Benetint, the lid is white. The bottle as a whole is smaller than the Benefit product but given the cheap price tag this is understandable! One problem with stains like this is the possibility of leakage - the Collection 2000 version used to leak terribly, I've never dared carry Benetint around in my bag for this reason, but the 2True version doesn't leak at all, which is a definite plus.

To use the tint, dot a few dots onto your cheeks and blend in to give a natural flushed look. I found the product blended pretty well but I needed to use more of it than when I use Benetint. It lasted a reasonable few hours before needing to be reapplied.

On the lips, I didn't think the product was as good - it produced a pinky-red colour that was slightly unnatural if I applied too much, although it lasted a couple of hours.

Overall, this product served my needs perfectly while I was away and though I will continue to use Benetint, I think this 2True version is great for an alternative budget buy. For the price it's really fantastic - I thought about giving it three stars but I'm going to give it 4, because it really is excellent value for money.

Summary: Recommended tint on a budget
