2True Cheek N Lip Tint
Advantages: Inexpensive, blends in well, leaves a natural looking result
Disadvantages: The bright pink shade before application is highly alarming
I went out for a night out recently . Not having much makeup that hadn't been mangled by my daughter in her recent attempts to pretty up my boyfriend, I nipped into Superdrug, and randomly grabbed a number of makeup items in a mad panic, including several from the 2true range, which costs £1.95 per item, or £5 for 3 .
One of the items I picked up willy-nilly was this 10ml bottle of cheek and lip stain in Blush Pink. It comes
in a cylindrical bottle, which is bright bubblegum pink in colour, with a white lid and just a hint of silver detail.
Opening the bottle up, I was slightly alarmed. Not only was this the brightest pink I had ever seen in my
life, much brighter than the bottle had indicated, but it also looked almost exactly like nail varnish. Calming down, I read the instuctions, which recommended brushing a little onto your cheeks, and blending in quickly with your fingertips. For lips, it also recommended brushing on and rubbing in , but without the word quickly.
It was the word quickly in relation to my cheeks that caused the second wave of doubt - if I failed to blend fast enough would I be left with cheeks like Aunt Sally from Wurzel Gummidge ? Not taking any chances, I dabbed a tiny spot onto my cheeks, and then blended it in with furious speed .
It actually looked lovely - nothing like the lurid pink it appeared on the brush, just a very delicate hint
of pink, as though I'd perhaps been out in the cold, or was slightly embarrassed . The more I stared at my newly pinkified cheeks, the more impressed I was with the very natural blush I now had.
Once blended on my lips, I was left with a very slight pink tint, that I discovered could be darkened by gradually building up layers . However, pink lipstick really doesn't suit me, so I'll be sticking with this as a blusher from now on .
For a spur of the moment panic buy, I really think this is an excellent product, offering great value for money, and delivering subtle, natural looking results . 5 stars .
Summary: Good value for money .
