2True Cheek N Lip Tint
Advantages: Great price and good quality
Disadvantages: Packaging could be better in my opinion
This is a review of 2True Cheek N Lip Tint which I deliberately set out to purchase, having developed a liking for Benefit's Posie Tint which I tried from a magazine cover. The little bottle I had was still quite full but I wanted to see if the 2True product was close enough for me to use instead.
I was quite new to the world of 2True having bypassed the stand many times, I was pleasantly surprised by the prices (three items for £5) and so had a browse to see what else I could buy with the cheek n lip tint. I went for a nail varnish in the end which I have reviewed separately.
The bottle looks a bit like a nail varnish, which I suppose many tints for lips do as you apply them with a brush. The lid is white and the body of the bottle is pink and looks overall quite inexpensive.
I dabbed a few dots on my lips before blending and it came out an alarming neon pink colour, definitely not what I wanted my lips to look like but thankfully the end product is much better. With 2True Cheek N Lip Tint you get a natural pink blush to the lips which is more like "I'm wearing no make up at all" look. On the cheeks, if you go steady you get a natural blush but if you are heavy handed or want to build it up more you may get the china doll made up look!
If I wear this just on the lips it will last absolutely ages but the cheeks take more product. However for the price it really doesn't matter does it! I think the colour is comparable to Posie tint but actually I think this may be better as it doesn't have the drying effect I find with the Benefit product. My lips didn't feel moisturised but you can add a balm after it has dried and enjoy the same effect. I would be wary about using this on the cheeks with other make up but a quick dab and dash is probably where I'll most be using this.
These cost £1.99 each or you can get three for a fiver. It's also available in a darker red colour (like benetint) but I don't think I'll be going there with my colouring. More suited to darker beauties I think unless you have a skin tone that can carry it off.
My only niggle with this product is that it is not very portable. It's too big for a pocket and the brush applicator restricts you to where you might want to apply it. If they could manufacture it with a roller ball I'd be interested. I think the price is wonderful, and you also get a massive 10ml of product which will last for ages. I am mightily impressed with this brand so far with what I've tried and will probably be seen lingering near the 2True stand in the near future.
Summary: Looks better on than in the bottle
