I'm not a person who wears a great deal of makeup, although I won't leave the house without foundation on and a bit of blusher on my cheeks. However, when I do go out for a night (which is rare, but happens occasionally) I always put on mascara and eyeliner too and a bit of lipstick or lipgloss.
I don't have much money spare, so I tend to go for cheap makeup, and have found that the 2True range at Superdrug is really good. This 2True Easy Glide Kohn Pencil cost me just £1.99, however looking on the Superdrug website I see it is currently available on a 3 for £5 offer which works out as excellent value. In addition to this you will be earning points on your Superdrug rewards card. The pencil comes with a lid on it which is a useful addition.
This pencil comes in two shades, black and brown, and I have the black shade. I find it easy to apply (it glides on) and it doesn't smudge as badly as some. The amount I use depends on the look that I'm going for. I would usually pop it in my handbag and reapply at some point in the evening if I remembered (although most likely don't remember). It does last pretty well though.
These pencils last a long time with the amount that I use them, obviously you will need some sort of makeup pencil sharpener to keep on using it.
4 out of 5 stars from me.
I was using Benefits Bad Gal Eyeliner but this was getting to be a few months old now and I don't like to keep products that go around the eye area for too long because it isn't hygienic. I was contemplating getting another eyeliner from the Benefit brand but money is extremely tight at the moment and in all honesty I was beginning to think that actually, the Bad Gal Eyeliner wasn't that brilliant anyway because I kept finding it wasn't holding its staying power like it used to.
I decided to look in Superdrug for a budget buy to use until I can afford a more expensive brand. I spent a fair amount of time in the make up aisle. I knew I wanted a simple black kohl pencil but I wanted it to be from a brand I could trust. I have used the 2true brand before but only occasionally, however I remember being satisfied with the results so when I saw this kohl pencil being offered for just £1.99 I decided to give it a try. You can get 3 2true items for £5 which seems to be a long term offer.
The pencil looks exactly the same as the picture above. I like the design, it is simple and understated but it does look good. The pencil looks like a pencil, it has a clear plastic lid that clicks onto the top of the pencil. It has a black barrel which has pink branding. It looks nice and I don't think it looks like a £1.99 product.
To use the pencil you simply draw on your eyelid with it. As it was from a cheaper brand I was expecting to have to go over the area a few times to receive a decent amount of the product. However, this was not the case. An even, thick, bold line went onto my eyelid with the first application. It didn't tug or pull at my skin and I was really pleased with the results. The eyeliner has a waxy sort of texture to it (the same as a lot of eyeliners) and this makes it really easy to apply.
The first time I wore this my boyfriend told me my eyes looked pretty so it does add more definition to the eye than when I just use a mascara. I was really impressed with the staying power of this pencil. It stays looking perfect for at least 5 hours but I am an eye rubber I'm afraid so after that it looks less perfect but it does stay in place for around 12 hours. It is easy to remove with make up remover, a simple facial wipe or even just warm water.
I really like this eye pencil. It does exactly what I wanted and it is a really good quality product. It is easy to apply, doesnt pull or irritate my skin and it has really good staying power. I will be buying more from the range.
