2True Superdrug liquid eyeliner
Price - £1.99 or 3 for £5.00 excellent price for an excellent liquid eyeliner.
The one I have is slightly different to the one in the picture the one I have is in a light blue bottle.
The one I have is waterproof
I swear by this liquid eyeliner it is perfect. I use it everyday for a fine line across my eyelid I don't use it on the bottom so I can't comment on that. For me this bottle lasts well over 2 months but I like to change it every 2 months due to bacteria etc..
I think the perfect liquid eyeliner is one that is easy to apply and lasts all day and this one does exactly that. I put it on at 6.30 in the morning before work and it lasts until I take it off before I go to bed without having to redo it. It is very easy to apply, the easiest I've ever come by, it doesn't smudge and dries instantly.
2True is a superdrug range and can only be purchased at Superdrug. If you have a beauty card it is worth 1point.
I would recommend this eyeliner to everyone. You will love it.
2Tru is another one of the staple products in my makeup bag. Firstly I love the price of this product, it can be brought from Superdrug for just £1.99, it's a bargain worth trying out at least. Secondly, the ease of use and thirdly the results of the products application.
The packaging for this product is simple: a matte black applicator black bottle with a shimmery pink "2Tru" logo displayed on the front of the bottle. It looks a little cheap in all honesty and I brought this product simply to try out. That was five years ago and to this day I still continue to repurchase this product.
The top of the product screws off to reveal a strong and sturdy applicator stick/wand. The thing that I like about this product is that the applicator brush allows you to apply the product to your eyes with ease and precision. Perfect winged eye makeup every single time!
The formula for this product is excellent, it's not too runny and it dries very quickly. It doesn't need touching up throughout the day and the product can be removed easily via a makeup remover wipe. I found with a number of budget black eyeliners that the products looked very plastic and would often peel and flake off throughout the day - not with this product. The product looks just as amazing as when you first applied it, even at the end of a long day.
Another element that I'd really like to mention about this product is the longivity, I only find myself replacing a bottle of this every six months. So for the money and the quality you're playing, this product is really a no brainer!
This is a liquid eyeliner from make up brand 2true. They are a really inexpensive brand and I find that the products are often hit and miss, I recently ran out of this liquid eyeliner though that I've been very pleased with and decided to do a review. The eyeliner doesn't really make a lot of claims only to be perfect for creating dramatic sweeping or fine precise lines. The eyeliner is only available in black from what I could tell whilst in superdrug.
The packaging is all black plastic. A tapered lid creates a good handle for the eyeliner wand and the lid is a shiny black as opposed to the matte black base of the product. The details of the product are printed on in a shiny pink colour. To reveal the liquid eyeliner you simply unscrew the lid. The eyeliner wand forms a really sharp point (in terms of shape not feel!) and I find that the wand is quite solid, I can't quite tell if it's a sponge sort of point but it definitely isn't a collection of bristles tightly packed as with some liquid eyeliners I've tried. The length of the wand is satisfactory enough for you to reach all eye areas.
This product is currently available in Superdrug for £1.99 you can also usually find 2true products on a 3 for 2 promotion.
I really like this eyeliner and was very impressed with its performance considering the price. I've tried some products from the 2true range like their mascaras and plumping lip glosses but haven't been overly impressed, this product however is a winner in my book.
The consistency of the liquid eyeliner is what you would expect, runny enough to make for easy application but not so runny that it's dripping off the wand. The pigmentation is very good and the product always sweeps on in a very dark black.
The sharp pointed edge of the wand makes it very easy to be precise when creating winged eyeliner, I really like the wand on this product and as somebody who finds it a bit fiddly to apply eyeliner I feel it really helps my control and this makes the process a lot more comfortable when using the product compared to some other liquid eyeliners I have tried.
The liquid also dries very quickly meaning you can continue with the rest of your make up or top up the eyeliner to achieve your desired look.
I've worn this for long days at university and on nights out and I've not once felt the need to reapply, it still looks as pigmented as when I first apply it. It really performs well in terms of longevity.
Overall I think this is a brilliant product and for a cracking price! I will certainly be buying the product again on my next visit to Superdrug and so far this is my favourite product in the 2true range. I don't wear liquid eyeliner as often as some people I know and so I don't run out very often but if you are somebody who wears liquid eyeliner a lot I would definitely suggest trying this one out as you will probably find it saves you a lot of money!
I love a good liquid eyeliner, and crave one that makes my eyes stand out. Which is why 2True effortless eyeliner has now become my holy grail and I have bought it repeatedly, as it's the only one I use!
The liquid eyeliner comes in an attractive opaque black bottle, with a long handle marking the bottle's pinnacle. It has a thin silver strip around the bottom of the handle to mark where the handle begins and the bottle stops. The handle requires twisting to unscrew it from the bottle, and then quite a strenuous tug to pull the applicator from the bottle! This because it is designed with cushions at either side to prevent too much liquid being deposited onto the applicator, which is extremely useful. The bottle is very compact and I would imagine it will fit inside any make up bag.
The applicator is quite stiff which makes the eyeliner much easier to apply smoothly across the eyelid, with the tip being flexible, allowing for a nice easy flick and catering to the bend of the eyelid, making the applicator very ergonomically designed and easy to use! The liquid eyeliner itself is of a very high quality, and gives a precise line in a colour that is blacker than black which doesn't crease or crack. It also dries very quickly, which is very helpful when you have to apply it in a rush! When I wore it for a night out, I was very impressed that it hadn't run or smudged throughout the whole night, so I like its staying power! A simple face or baby wipe will take it off as, contrary to other long lasting eyeliners, it hardly requires any rubbing. The use from one bottle is amazing! It seems to be bottomless!
I bought this eyeliner not expecting much from it, as it was only priced at £1.99 in Superdrug and some of the cheaper brands I've tried have been nothing like this! I still can't believe that you get this high quality liquid eye liner for just £1.99, a definite bargain in my eyes.
This liquid eyeliner is a well designed, easy to apply, great colour giving product and I would buy it over any others every time. Considering the use you get from one bottle and its staying power, £1.99 is a brilliant price to pay!
I love some of the bargains which you can get from the 2True make up brand. They always seem to have a 3 for £5 offer on, which is how I bought this product.
Once applied I find that this eyeliner lasts for ages without flaking off or smudging. It comes in a really dramatic black colour, which I think is great for nights out, the darkness of it also makes my eyes look much bigger, which is great.
Liquid eyeliner is great for precision application, however mine does tend to drag a little eyeliner into places which you don't want it, but it does not do this all the time, so it is not a massive problem.
Once you apply the eyeliner, it dries very quickly, which allows it to stay on so long without smudging, and helps you more in getting the look you wanted.
My favourite part about the product is the applicator wand, which is pretty thin which allows for an easy application and allows the exact right amount of eyeliner to be supplied.
People should not be deceived by the price of this eyeliner. I bought this eyeliner in a last minute dash to the till because it was very cheap, yet it's a great product. The one thing I feel puts this eyeliner apart from many of the others I've bought in the past is that it stays on a lot longer than the majority, plus it doesn't smudge very much at all. Unlike pencil, this liquid eye liner is very black and solid in appearance, whereas penis tends to look smudgy and grey at the edges. The product is both easily applicable and also easily removable; a normal baby wipe will take the make up straight off without much irritation to the eyes. This eyeliner is a great product that I have bought multiple times and it just goes to show that you don't need to splash out on expensive eye liner.
I got this eyeliner from Superdrug where I believe it was on promotion - buy any 3 2True products for the price of 2. I wasn't really looking for a liquid eyeliner as I've never been a big user but I picked it up as my third choice. On its own I think it retails for about £1.99 but they also often do "3 for £5" promos on this range at Superdrug.
The product comes in a little bottle with a huge handle which screws into it making the product quite tall (approx 4inches) but thin as the handle tapers at the end. It easily fits in any make up bags and doesn't look too large for what it is. The handle has to be long as this is how you apply the eyeliner and it needs to be big enough to hold.
The applicator tip is not a brush like some liquid eyeliners. I really like this because I've found the brushes make it hard to get a neat sweep across the eyelid. This applicator is like a little piece of pointed hard sponge and it makes it much easier to apply.
The applicator gets neatly covered in the product but sometimes I do have to wipe off the excess but this is more because I know I'm messy with it!!). One thing I do struggle with (Although this is not the fault of the product) is applying this the same on both eyes! If anyone has a trick I would love to hear it!
I think this eyeliner has OK staying power. It is easy to remove with a makeup wipe etc but I think that on a big night out, it does seem to disappear a bit (i.e. the lines look thinner until it looks like you haven't got much on). I'm not sure if that's just me though.
The colour is black and it is really black. The formulation is thick and it leaves opaque lines like you would want.
My only minor gripe is that there is a barcode sticker right where I hold the bottle to unscrew. This has now become a bit tatty as it is starting to peel off and this is a little annoying. I would rather this info was printed directly onto the side, or that it was stuck on the (currently free) bottom of the bottle.
In brief - I've now bought two of these (when the first one ran out) and I've become a liquid eyeliner convert. I really recommend it, especially at the bargainous price!!
I love my liquid eyeliner, and considering I wear it on a daily basis, I do tend to get through it very quickly. Because of this, it adds up having to buy more expensive brands, therefore when I only had a bit of cash on me, I picked up this 2true Effortless Eyeliner in No.1 Black for just a mere £1.99 to get me through the week. However, little did I know that I would continue using it, as it proved much better than I thought it would. It is also good to note that you can pick up any three 2true products for £4.99!
Before use, ensure that you shake it, then unscrew the lid and start applying to the eyelid. I love the applicator on this eyeliner because it is neither too thin or too thick. It is almost a thin felt applicator, therefore it makes it easier to draw around the eyes and therefore aim for more precision. If you are one of the people that prefers very thin liquid eyeliner applicators then this is perhaps not for you.
I have noticed that it does apply around my eyes very well and does last throughout the whole day, however it can get a little flaky sometimes, therefore a re-application may be required. In applying it every day to my eyes, this little beauty still lasted around a month, therefore for £1.99 I do feel that it is very worth it. Although I have used more expensive brands such as Rimmel and Max Factor eyeliners, I do not think that they are considerably better to be paying three times what I am for the 2true eyeliner.
The only fault I can give it is that it is only available in black (as far as I am aware), but you can purchase it in a waterproof version also.
Overall, for the money that you are paying, I feel that this liquid eyeliner delivers brilliant results, it is easy to get into the corners of your eyes and if you make a mistake, it is easy to correct. I'd recommend this most to teenagers or people who are starting out with liquid eyeliner as many of my friends have stated how easy they find to use this and they are not used to wearing liquid eyeliner. A very deservable four stars for this product!
I'd never heard of the 2true range until I was browsing Superdrug's website looking for some cheap makeup to try out, but when I spotted their range I ended up buying several items to see if they were any good. The first one I tried was this eyeliner which costs just £1.99!
The pot that it comes in is similar to most liquid eyeliners, with the lid being really long and acting as a handle to apply the eyeliner with. The lid screws off to reveal the spongey brush which is rather like a felt-tip pen. The brush is really easy to use and having a fine point it's easy to get a thin or thick line depending on the look you want.
The formula of this eyeliner is very thin and doesn't make a deep black line at all, it looks really watery and wishy-washy with parts of it looking quite see through, so if I want a proper black colour I have to go back over it again once it's dried which is not ideal, and I've never found I've had to do this with any other eyeliner I've used.
It takes quite a while to dry so I have to be really careful not to smudge it after first applying it, but once it's dried it does stay on pretty well without smudging or wearing off, but it isn't waterproof so it won't withstand the tear test!
It does come off extremely easily with any old cleanser or wipes and it doesn't irritate my eyes.
Liquid liner that lasts all day, for a very very small price! I have used this eyeliner for the past three or so years and can honestly say that I have never in my life come across a liquid eyeliner for £1.95 that has worked this well. I used to buy the more expensive brands - I had tried some of the cheaper liners, but was very dissapointed. That was until I came across this beauty! I would highly recommend buying the waterproof liner, as oppose to the "non-waterproof" just because for some reason the liquid, to me, seemed to be thicker and stayed on far better during the day. This eyeliner is also PERFECT for beginners as the liner brush itself is quite thick with a pointed tip - it mimics a lot of the much more expensive brands such as Rimmel and Maxfactor which is what I previously used. It is easy to apply, and leaves a gorgeous, full black line - the brush has been designed in such a way that it is simple to create a thick, dark line; ideal if you're going for the sexy, smokey look complete with eyeshadow, OR going the complete opposite and just want a thin, but even outline to define your eyes for the daytime. I use this eyeliner absolutely every day, and when I go out I usually take all my make up off and start again! But this eyeliner seems to last forever. I cannot remember the last time I bought one ! It was most probably around 4 months ago- and my current pot is still going strong! I would definitely reccommend this product to ANYONE. It is small, compact and VERY GOOD quality. And at £1.95 a pot you can't really go wrong. :)
I went for a night out a few days ago, and not having much makeup, decided to buy some from Superdrug . After recoiling in horror from the prices on some of the big brands, I spotted a carousel with the 2true range displayed, offering items at 1.95, or 3 for £5. This seemed like a bargain, and one of the items I came away with that day was this eyeliner .
Now, many years ago, in the days before I had a kid and responsibilities, I used to be a little bit of a goth . Actually, I was probably more Emo, but in those days, the term hadn't been invented - I'm showing my age now! One of my favourite looks was to have my eyes darkly ringed with a thick slick of eyeliner, so that they shone out of my deathly pale face .
Now, I'm not so gothy looking nowadays, but I did want a dramatic look, so opted for this eyeliner in a deep black colour. It comes in a little, almost triangular bottle, with a long stemmed brush for application . The brush unscrews easily from the bottle, and comes out thickly coated with the eyliner.
Applying this, is glides onto the skin smoothly, with no tugging as you draw it across, leaving a deliciously dark, thick line of liner along the outside of my lid. However, not being very experienced with liquid eyeliners, having always used kohl pencils in the past, I found that it was a little tricky for me personally to apply, and I had to keep washing it off and starting again . It didn't want to wash off too easily, and I had to resort to make up removal wipes, even only a few seconds after application, which made the process a little more time consuming .
I did find the narrow tapered end of the brush perfect, once I got the hang of it, for doing those little feline flicks at the end of my eye, and once I got this on correctly, the staying power that had previously made this a pain in the bum proved to be a good thing, with me not needing to reapply all night.
When it came to removing it (the next morning, as I was in no fit state at the end of the night) a moist make up wipe did the trick with minimum fuss .
Overall, I think this is a good product, although for me at least, it is a little more complicated to apply than a kohl pencil, for which it loses one star . Still, a respectable four stars, and a recommendation from me .
There is an art to applying liquid liner but luckily for us Superdrug have come up with a liner which doesn't require Van Gough skills or Tracey Emin's bank balance.
The 2True Effortless Eyeliner is available for a teeny £1.95 in any Superdrug store or at superdrug.com. It is also worth noting that it can be snapped up as part of the 3 2true items for £5 offer what originally drew me to it.
It's a pretty basic product as far as packaging goes. Black packaging for the regular liner and light blue for the waterproof. Typical 'ink bottle' style, a resevoir bottom which contains the mixture and quite a long screw off top which becomes the handle for the attatched applicator. The applicator itself is a thin, semi-rigid brush with a tapered end which gives the user plenty of control for more intricate work but is also forgiving enough to help hide little mistakes. The tapered brush makes it the perfect tool to create a lovely cat-eye flick.
The mixture itself is highly pigmented and slightly thicker than others I have tried. This means you only really need to make one sweep of liner across the eye to get a nice dark line.
It drys quickly and stays put for hours, going easily from day to night time wear without smudging or cracking.
I would definitely recommend this product to friends. I personally prefer gel liners and MACs Fluidline is my everyday liner of choice but this is a perfectly good product which works well and definitely has a place in my makeup bag... and the price is really excellent!
This really is the winner of every single eyeliner (pencil and liquid) i have ever tried! I bought this within the 3 for £5 offer at my local Superdrug and i have never looked back. I thought, with them being cheap, that i'd just give them a go, without really expecting anything of the eyeliner. It surprised me that it goes on so easily!
With the wand being rigid enough to help line your eyes in a straight line and without being too hard that it hurts, it's ideal for beginners too to experiment with. You can decide how thick it goes on, and one coat is plenty if you get it right the first time. If you want a more dramatic effect, 2 coats makes your eyes look amazing! I'm so glad i discovered 2true eyeliner, i wear it whenever i'm on a night out!
I did wear a lot of the expensive MAC stuff, but i've found so many amazing, cheap alternatives and this is one of them. It's a must buy if you like to have gorgeously defined eyes!
I chose to review this product especially because I think it's so amazing. It saddened me that it only had one review when it's the best liquid eyeliner i've found to date.
For starters, who can go wrong at two quid? Superdrug's own brand - 3 for a fiver, it doesn't sound too impressive. I myself am usually one to go for the popular named makeup brands. I think I only picked this up one day because my usual liquid eyeliner had gone awol, but i've never looked back.
It's brush is firm and thick, tapering at the end. I prefer a thick, shorter brush because I find the long thin ones too hard to control and too difficult to get a straight precise line with a flick. With this style of brush you can vary the size of your line, from a thin outline to a thicker, Dita Von Teese look. This brush is the easiest and quickest to apply in my opinion. It gives you so much control it is almost like using a pencil.
It's also a good stay putter! Some liquid eyeliners smudge or fade during the day but I can wear this one from day to night without reapplying. For a tiny bottle, it also lasts surprisingly long. I wear this every day and it lasts me a good couple of months.
I'm dying to get word out about how good I think this product is. In fact, i'd praise the whole 2true range, as with the 3 for £5 offer i've sampled some nail varnishes and lipglosses too, and none have failed to impress. For a product so cheap, i'm surprised more people aren't singing it's praises. Although I wouldn't want Superdrug going crazy and upping it's prices :)
2True is a brand exclusive to Superdrug stores and sells products very cheaply, each item in the range costs only £1.91 (£1.95 when our VAT goes back up), or you can pick any 3 for £5. They make a lot of different cosmetic items, nail varnish, foundation, lipsticks, eyeshadows, mascaras etc. Brilliant for young teens and people who don't wear make up often whom hesitate to spend a lot on it.
As with most cosmetic brands I've found each item varies in it's quality, the eyeshadows are great for the price - you get a lot of product and they're quite highly pigmented, but for me this is the product that deserves the gold star.
It's a simple looking black pot with an elongated lid that contains the little applicator underneath and you grip it as you apply the eyeliner. It's not going to win any awards for being wonderfully packaged, but it isn't ugly either and is pretty inoffensive looking.
They do a waterproof version which I plan on trying out as I've got a wedding to attend at the beginning of September. It looks the same, except it comes in a blue pot instead.
Using The Eyeliner:
It's obviously a liquid eyeliner, and so is a smooth black liquid that you apply where you want it - generally on the upper eyelids along the lashline. The applicator is thin enough to be precise, yet if you increase pressure slightly it will go on thicker for those to-die-for sexy flicks at the corners of the eye, a la Angelina Jolie.
I find it best to use a pencil eyeliner before using liquid eyeliner to give me some kind of guide and to ensure that it looks perfect and even when I want a strong look in the evenings. However, on a day to basis, when I only want a thin line to emphasize my lashes, I apply it slowly, bit by bit starting on the inside of my eyes.
I know some people can use a single stroke to do their eyes but when you have such terrible eyesight you have to be an inch away from the mirror it's just not possible - unless you have the steady hands of a heart surgeon of course ;) Take your time, make sure it is even on both eyes, and don't worry if you get wrong, use a cotton bud to tidy it up or wipe it off and start again.
Even people new to liquid eyeliner will be able to use this as it is so easy to apply.
My Overall Opinion:
It applies well, and a huge bonus is that I rarely need to go over the line again which I found myself doing with more expensive liquid eyeliners. I'm surprised it hasn't been reviewed on here before because I love it! It does give a matte black effect, it lasts me over 16 hours before it starts to fade or crack slightly.
I can't recommend it enough, I don't use liquid eyeliner daily but this is the kind of product that goes on and on, and lasts for months even if you use it every day. The applicator is great, I find some can be either too thick or too fine or simply far to difficult to use, but this is easy enough that I very rarely fudge it up, and I can promise you that my hands are not very steady at all.
