“ Brand: 2True / Type: Eyeshadows / Suitable for: Eye „
2True eyeshadow is available in Superdrug for £1.99, but is alos part of a full time promotion where you can choose any 3 items for £4.99 from the range.
The eyeshadow is packaged in a black oval container with a clear viewfinder to help you find the colour you are looking for and also a convenient applicator (I don't use this as I prefer using a brush). Yes this is helpful, but it is bulky too!
The eyeshadow is matte and is very smooth on your eyeshadow. The colours are pigmented meaning a little will easily go a long way but they are also easily blended, or layered.
The lasting power all depends on the colour. I have found with the colours that I have, that the darker, or brighter, the eyeshadow, the longer it will last. THe darker colours will last 6 hours whereas the lighter shades may only last 4. THis is increased though if a eyeshadow primer is used. 2True claims that this will not crease. This does not crease for me.
I would recommend trying these eyeshadows if you want to experiment with a certain colour or want to expand your collection
I was starting to get a bit low on my regular eye shadow so on a recent trip to town nipped into Superdrug to stock up on some more. With our wedding in a few weeks time most of our money is going towards that so I didn't really want to spend out loads of money on new eye shadow so shopped around for the best price, I'm not too fussy what brand of eye shadow I use so was looking for the cheapest option really but in colours which I like to wear. I noticed that Superdrug have started to do their own range of make up called 2 True, they have a range of different products which are all reasonably priced one of these products included eye shadow, the shades they had available were ideal for what I was looking for so I ended up buying 2 Duo pots.
The 2 True eye shadow comes in round black pots probably about a couple of inches in diameter, the pot is made from a shiny black plastic and has a clear plastic lid this allows you to see the colours of the eye shadow inside. On the lid of the eye shadow is the name of the product, '2 True' in shiny pink, that is literally it for the front of the packaging it really is simple, but then I wasn't looking for anything fancy at all, the lid has a small hinge on the back of it and it simply lifts up and clicks back in place again. The back of the pot has a black round label stuck on it, at the top of the label is the 2 True logo and just below this are the words "True colour duo eye shadow long lasting crease resistant" this is all written in white making it really stand out against the black background and easy to read. There is a white rectangle going across the black label which the barcode on it, also written in this rectangle is the shade number of the eye shadow. The top of the label also peels up to reveal the ingredients, again written in black to stand out against the black label. Inside the pot are 2 compartments divided by a black strip, these hold the 2 shades of eye shadow keeping the colours separate.
The Eye Shadow
2 True eye shadow is a compact powder rather than a loose powder which I definitely prefer I do find the loose powder rather messy. In the Superdrug I went to there were probably about a dozen colour combinations to choose from, although I didn't stand and count them all, I selected shade number 2 and 3, shade number 2 is a mid grey/ silver and a reasonably pale pink colour and shade 3 is a dark grey and a light silvery grey colour, both of these are slightly metallic. The 2 True eye shadows come in a variety of colours including browns, greys, silvers, pinks and other slightly brighter shades, there really was something for most people. Although the eye shadow is compacted into the pot when you run he brush/ applicator over it does loosen easily, there is nothing worse than n eye shadow that is so compact that you have to scrape at it just to loosen enough to apply.
The price is what first drew my attention to the 2 True range of eye shadow, a due pot which I purchased was just £1.99 each, however at the moment the whole range of 2 True products are on off for £4.99 for 3 items. Compared to some eye shadows I think that this is a real bargain some eye shadows I looked at were very expensive but to be honest looked just the same as the £1.99 2 True products, however the real test was going to be when I wore it. For this price you are also getting 2 colours which makes them even more of a bargain.
I have tried both due pots that I brought now and have to say I am very pleased with the colour choices, the colour go very well together should you wish to blend them, but also look good worn separately. As I have said applying the eye shadow to your applicator is very easy as the compact eye shadow loosens very easily, I used a small brush to apply my eye shadow and it went on very smoothly, I did need to apply a couple of coats to get it to the correct shade however this is down to personal preference I like my eye shadow to be darker rather than really light , if you prefer light colours then one coat would be plenty. I wore my eye shadow all day and my the end of the day it was still looking good, it had faded very slightly but was still very visible, also it lived up to the promise of being crease resistant all of my eye shadow was still in tact. I hate eye shadow that creases after just a few hours, however with my 2 True eye shadow I can be confident that it will still look fresh and in place by the end of the day. I was extremely impressed with the durability of this eye shadow especially for the low price it was being sold at. The only disadvantage of this product is that it does not come with an applicator like some other brand of eye shadow you have to use or purchase your own, for me this was not a problem as I do have a make up brush set that I use, however you can also buy a pack of eye shadow applicators reasonably cheap so this is not something that would put me off this product. Overall I would definitely recommend 2 True eye shadow, it is long lasting, crease resistant and comes in a range of colour suitable for most people. It is also sold very cheaply so is perfect for someone on a budget, I would certainly buy this brand again.
Not usually being one for budget beauty products, I saw this range in Superdrug and couldn't resist the bargain 3 products for £5 deal on offer. The product is nicely packaged with a sleek black case that looks more expensive than it actually is - in fact the whole range is quite nicely designed and you don't feel you are getting a basic budget buy. It somes with a mini applicator that does the job adequately. The eyeshadow itself is reasonable quality, but I found the texture rather sludgy - it lacks the depth of a more expensive version and I found it very hard to blend in. However, it does provide a good shot of dark brown colour which lasts for most of the day (although by the end of a day at work it was starting to crease a bit). Overall it does the job well, and at such a low price is excellent value. It's worth trying out some of the other products in the range as well as some are fantastic budget buys.
I have tried so many budget products, which seem to be emerging at a rapid rate in the credit crunch, and on 3 for £5 these really are a bargain. They come in a range of colours, plenty for creating a variety of looks. The colour pay off isn't actually as bad as you would imagine, I was pleasantly surprised.
I bought these in both black and navy and they went on smoothly and they actually, for budget products blend pretty well- something that, for me, is really important in a product.
They are also ideal if you are a parent putting together party bags for a girls party, or if your daughter wants to have a play with make up. If you want to try a new look, I would recommend this product to you as it is so cheap, you can have a major makeover without the major price tag attached.
This eyeshadow is available in Superdrug, it costs £1.99 or you can choose any 3 for £5 from the 2true range. It comes in black packaging lke on the picture, I think it is quite plain packaging that looks a bit cheap. It has a small applicator inside so this is useful to carry around. The applicator is quite small with a curved handle, although I usually use a seperate brush to apply it, it is quite handy to have a spare in the box. It has a small sponge end and though it isn't as good as a brush it still gives a good result.
The eyeshadow is easy to apply, it isn't flaky so it doesn't go everywhere when you try to get it on the brush. It goes on soothly and gives a good coverage. It is a matt eyeshadow and doesn't have any sparkles in it so it is perfect for wearing in the day. You can increase the colour by putting on more layers. The eyeshadows are quite good for blending with each other and you can create some nice effects with them.
It lasts for a good few hours but I do find that the lighter colours don't really last all day. I fades gradually though and doesn't clump up in the cease of your eye this is good as this has happened with a few eyeshadows I have tried and it looks horrible at least with this it all comes off. You do have to be careful not to rub your eyes or it does come off quickly then.
There are a lot of colours to choose from so you will be spoilt for choice, they have normal browns and pinks but also dark blues if you fancy something a bit different. It is easy to see what colours you have as the lid has a big window to see the product. The colour coes out as how it looks in the box unlike those that are lighter when you put them on.
The eyeshadow didn't irritate my eyes as I found with some other products so it should be ok for most people to use as my eyes can be quite sensitive.
It is easy to take of with your ordinary make up remover although the darker colours do need a bit extra rubbing than the lighter colours.
I would recommend trying these eyeshadows they aren't as good as some of the more expensive brands but for the price you can't really complain, these would be good for anyone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money on an eyeshadow and just experiment with different colours.
