Cheap cheap!
~~~~~~~~~~
I am not that familiar with 2True products, but I do know they are sold exclusively in Superdrug - and that they are very cheap! Usually priced at £1.99 for each item, or £5 for any three items, I got myself even more of a bargain by buying three items in the recent Superdrug 3-for-2 cosmetics offer. So I picked up three items for a rather cheap and cheerful £3.98 - less than £1.33 per product!
One of the items I bought was a 2True nail varnish. It is slightly different to the one pictured here as it is a limited edition item and is a special sparkly version of the usual 2True nail varnish. Although I couldn't see it on the Superdrug website, I have seen it in several branches of the store so it's widely available, and I am sure it will be around for a little while at least - but I do wonder if they will faze it out now the party season is ending....
Glittery sparkle
~~~~~~~~~~
I remember seeing three shades in this limited edition range of sparkly varnishes - a mid purple, and bright greeny-blue and the one I bought which is a bright red. All three of the varnishes are very sparkly looking in the bottle. They are all very eye-catching shades and look lovely in the bottle, and I did deliberate about which to buy! I have found with glittery polishes in the past that they can fail to deliver on the sparkly front - looking much stronger in the bottle than on the nails - so I opted for the red version, as I figured I would be most likely to wear this with or without the sparkle!
This is quite a small bottle of polish - a little smaller than your average one I think but fair enough at the cheap price. The red is a very bright red and you can see lots of bright glitter running through the varnish.

Better than expected

I found this easy enough to apply - it was the right consistency to get a nice even coat and I was pleased with how pigmented the colour seemed to be. Although it did take a little longer to dry than I would have liked, I was pleased with how it looked. The red is very striking and although the glitter isn't too blatant, you can certainly see a slight sparkle on the nails. In fact up close you can see that the varnish is shot through with tiny particles of glitter, that look light pink at a close glance.
Although one coat of colour looked good, I decided to apply a second and I was pleased I did. The colour looks really bright and intense, and is certainly eye-catching, and the glitter gives the varnish a lovely sheen, meaning it has a slightly metallic finish to it. I also like that it isn't too glossy - the metallic finish looks just right.

Staying power

For a cheap varnish, I would have expected this to start chipping after a day or two. But with no undercoat or topcoat, this varnish lasted a good four days before I saw any chips appear - and in fact I kept it on for a full week before it really started to look bad. I was surprised by how well this lasted, especially when you consider the low, low price!
Overall I am really pleased with this polish and at the price have no complaints at all! And I may well now go and pick up the other colours. I think it's a great shade for parties as it is quite striking, but to be honest I am quite happy to wear it every day!
As it's a limited edition I would suggest, if you like the sound of it, that you pick one up while you still can!
Summary: A lovely bit of sparkle!
