Advantages: Good range of colours, dries quickly

Disadvantages: One coat is usually not enough

I picked up one of these Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polishes a little while ago as I was in the mood for getting a treat for myself and these caught my eye. I liked the sound of a nail polish that would dry in 60 seconds and so I ended up buying this in a shade called Ethereal - a very light pink shimmery shade. When I bought this (around 2 months ago) it cost me £2.79 from my local Superdrugs store on the high street.

Applying the nail polish is simple as it is applied just like any other standard nail polish. The brush is a standard size and makes the application easy. The colour that I bought spreads over nice and easily and is a decent thickness. I do like my nail polish colour to be a little intense though so I do apply a second coat to achieve my desired look.

Now the main selling point of this product is that it promises to dry in just 60 seconds. I don't usually time how long it takes exactly so unfortunately I cannot say whether the drying time is spot-on 60 seconds. But I have noticed that I don't have to wait too long before applying the second coat. With most other nail polishes that I own, I tend to leave it at least 5 minutes in between coats. With this nail polish I certainly do not wait longer than 5 minutes and in fact, it's probably closer to the 2 minute-mark.

With one coat applied, the shimmery polish is slightly transparent which is why I apply a second coat most times. After I have applied a second coat, the drying time is definitely more than a minute, and to be on the safe side I like to give my nails at least 10 minutes in order to avoid any smudges! But I can definitely say that after 10 minutes I am good to go and get on with things.

In terms of how long this polish lasts on my nails, it tends to start to chip away after 2 days from my fingernails, but stays put on my toenails for a little longer (probably around 4-5 days). I am happy with this as I haven't come across any other nail polishes that are of a similar price that stay on for longer.

Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polishes come in 26 shades, most of which are various shades of pink and purple, although the range does include a shade called 'Blackout' which is virtually black in colour I believe, 'Blue Me away' (which is blue!) and another called 'Green with Envy', which, you guessed it, is green. Most places sell these polishes at around £3 and you can buy them in-store from places such as Boots, Superdrugs and most independent chemists.

Summary: I like this!
