Colorsport Eyebrow Definer Pen
by juicy_lucy
Colorsport eye brow definer
I don't usually use an eye brow definer but when I was given one to try out, it seemed churlish not to do so.
WHAT DOES IT DO?...
This is supposed to give maximum impact with minimum effort so sounds like my kind of make up routine!
It is supposed to define and shape ... your eye brows to frame your face and the "unique" nib will give an even smooth line, with the ink drying instantly and lasting for 8 hours.
PRODUCT AND PACKAGING...
The eye brow definer comes in has a peel off plastic cover over the top of a card board backing which has all of the instructions and information I am likely to need.
The product itself is brown (this is a brown eye brow definer so I assume the black will be black). It is a tube like shape and when I pull off the lid, the definer looks like a felt tipped pen with a sharp point- obviously to get into any sparse bits without making a mistake and ending up with eye brows all over my brow. It glides on easily and is quite a light brown in colour, so for me it really is too light; I bought it as I thought the black would be too severe, but clearly I got it wrong. It doesn't feel oily or greasy and the ink dries quickly so it doesn't smudge. However, a word of warning here; it comes off easily with soap and water and so I am sure it will come off in the rain or in damp climates. This would not be a good look.
USING IT...
You must ensure that your skin is dry otherwise it won't "stick" to the skin. Once this is done, then simply draw along the line of your natural brows making sure you fill in any gaps or light areas.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY...
Widely available in black or brown, this costs £6.99, and is also available in a waterproof version.
ALSO AVAILABLE...
To complement these "perfect" eye brows, Colorsport suggests:
* 24 hour eyeliner in brown or black
* 30 day mascara in brown or black.
VERDICT...
I bought this on a whim and it did prove to be completely unnecessary as I don't have gaps in my eye brows but having read some articles, had decided that this was the way forward to a polished look.
It is very easy to use and for someone who wants their eye brows to look fuller, then I imagine it would work. However, as I said before, it's not waterproof, so if one is needed, then the waterproof version is probably a much wiser buy. It is easy to remove and didn't irritate my skin at all, and is also non greasy, so as far as quality is concerned, I have no complaints.
I am giving this a 3 star because it is not completely useless, and is good quality, it's just not for me.
If you need an eye brow definer then this could be what you are looking for.

Colorsport 30 Day Mascara
by alyson29
As I am fair skinned I need to regularly darken my hardly visible eyebrows. I used to visit a beauty salon on a monthly basis but found the cost quickly mounting up so I decided to invest in a product and try it myself at home.
It was about 5 years ago when I first purchased Colorsport 30 Day Mascara and whilst it is designed ... for use on both the lashes and brows, I use it just for my brows.
This product is available in two colours - black and dark brown and one box is enough for up to 16 applications with one application lasting for up to one month.
The manufacturer recommends that prior to using this product for the first time a skin sensitively test be carried out 48 hours before use.
The box contains a plastic wipeable mixing tray, an application wand, a tube of dye and a bottle of developer liquid. You mix a small amount of the dye with a few drops of the developer liquid, mix well and apply to the brows. The product takes about 10 minutes to develop and leaves my brows looking gorgeous and very natural looking.
I find this product extremely easy to use with minimal mess. The plastic wipeable mixing trays cleans easily with a tissue ready for its' next use.
A box of Colorsport lasts me a year with me dying my brows approximately every three weeks. I have saved an absolute fortune as the price of this product was the cost of one visit to the Beauty Salon - well worth the money!!
This product retails from around £7.49 but is frequently on offer in most supermarkets and chemists. Colorsport frequently provide 33% extra free in their packs which will give you up to a further 5-6 applications. Read the complete review |

Colorsport 30 Day Mascara
by lula71
Being casper white with blonde blonde hair, without mascara my eyelashes are almost completely invisible. As I find mascara to be more hassle than I can really be bothered with, and finances don't allow for regular eyelash tinting at the salon, when I saw this Colorsport 30 Day Mascara in the Boots magazine I decided to give it a ... go.
The product comes in a plastic tray inside a cardboard box. Honestly, I find the packaging rather ugly but it does the job and contains plenty of information on the back - handy if you lose the instruction leaflet. Besides, who really cares what the packaging looks like for a product like this?
The plastic tray contains a tube of dye cream, a bottle of developer liquid and an application wand. It also has a space for mixing the dye which is quite handy. The quantities appear small, but the box states that this pack contains enough for 16 applications - that's a year's supply for just £7.49 so heeeeaps cheaper than going to a salon all year!
The instruction leaflet is detailed and with plenty of photographs so it's very easy to follow. However, this product does take a bit of practice and I still haven't quite mastered it yet. The main problem is the application wand... it's just a plastic stick. I am contemplating trying out this product using an old mascara wand as the plastic stick only really coats the one side of the lashes rather than coating them all round. I think a better wand would probably give a far superior finish.
Nonetheless this product is great. You mix the dye according to the instructions, coat your eyelashes and then in 10 minutes wash it off. I was a bit wary that it might sting or be uncomfortable but as of yet that hasn't happened and so I am very pleased (but always do a patch test first!). I have only used this product twice and so I think that I am still quite wary and probably don't go as close to the eye as I should - for this reason although the result is good, it's not like having been to a salon and I feel that although I can go without mascara, eyeliner is still an absolute essential otherwise from a distance you still can't really notice my eyelashes. However, up close, I am very pleased with the result as whereas mascara tends to wear off the tips of my eyelashes almost immediately, the advantage of this dye is that they always look far longer than they ever did before as the tips stay dark.
This is a great product if you can't be bothered with mascara. It takes a fair bit of practice but the result is natural and really pretty eyes - I feel that it's prettier than mascara as it looks so much more natural. However, whereas mascara thickens the eyelashes, this obviously doesn't, so if you don't have many eyelashes you might prefer to stick to mascara or use mascara on top for extra definition.
I will be sticking with this product - I can't wait for summer and for the first time not having to worry about messy mascara on the beach. I am so pleased that I will definitely be trying out the colorsport eyeliner too!
Definitely worth persevering with this product, even though it can be a bit tricky to apply at first. Read the complete review |
