Garnier Fresh Essentials Eye Make-Up Remover

=Garnier Fresh Essentials Eye Make-Up Remover=
I don't know about anyone else but I love waterproof mascara, but this is not always the easiest of items to remove, and a friend recommended that i try her garnier Fresh Essentials Eye Make Up Remover - which reminds me I never gave her the bottle back. I liked it so much I have ... brought some for myself.
=Purchase=
I got my Garnier from Boots and paid £3 or a bottle
=The Bottle=
The bottle mentions that this is specially formulated for sensitive eyes and that it is opthalmogically tested. That it removes waterproof eye make up, and is suitable for normal to sensitive skin.
=Ingredients=
Among the ingredients it lists grape extract
=To Use=
I use the flat cotton wool pads and hold these to the top of the bottle, give it a little squeeze and clean the eyes, for hygiene I always use a clean pad for the 2nd eye.
=After effect=
I was pleased to say that my eyes had no after effects and that the waterproof mascara came away with no harsh rubbing.
My eyes felt refreshed when I had used the wipes.
=I did cheat=
Once I removed the waterproof elements, I tend to use a make up wipe, for the remainder of my face, but i do think that the garnier is excellent value for money.
=Would I recommend=
I would highly recommend the Garnier Eye make up remover, it is worth paying the extra for Read the complete review |

Garnier 5 Second Perfect Blur Primer
by walsha11
I went to Boots last week to top up on some essentials. I really only needed to buy a replacement for my foundation which was beginning to dwindle and instead I walked out with a load of products I didn't really need. This was one of them, a typical impulse purchase.
I absolutely love primers and have reviewed a large array on ... them on here before (my favourite being the l'oreal studio secrets primer). As such I tend to be quite picky about what I used, and trust me there are a wide range of rubbish primers out there to contend with. I was intrigued by this product because I love garnier products and this combined garnier skincare with a primer so I knew I had to be onto something good.
The primer comes in a slender pearly pink coloured iridescent plastic tube. The plastic is very soft and flexible making it easy to squeeze as much or as little out of the tube. There is a white plastic twist lid which functions as it should and it all comes in a cardboard box. The colour scheme is the lovely pearly pink of the tube and a deeper shiny magenta colour which look very nice together and bridges the gap between this being a garnier skincare product and also a make up product.
The primer itself is very similar in colour and consistency to the studio secrets primer, though it is not as thick and rich. The primer almost has a whipped feeling to it and this is confirmed when you squeeze it out the tube you get intermittent gaps where there are air bubbles. The primer is a pale pink colour, has no distinctive smell to it and has a lovely smooth and velvety feel to it.
When apply for the skin it goes on smoothly and easily, either on bare skin or skin that has just been moisturised. The primer sinks in instantly leaving your skin feeling soft and looking mattified. I find this primer does a good job at giving you an even looking skin tone and this is a nice base to work from when applying your make up. It would also work equally well if you wanted to just go out without make up as it makes your skin look clear, smooth and gets rid of any oiliness.
In comparison to other primers I have used I would say it isn't quite as good as the studio secrets primer but probably sits on par with everything else I have continued to use (smashbox, elizabeth arden morning serum etc.). It is also certainly better than others that I have tried (rimmel, 17...just to name a few). So my only real niggle with this has to be the price. It retails at around £12.99 depending on where you shop, but that is the price I paid when I bought mine from Boots. This makes it more expensive than the smashbox primer which I think is probably of an equally good standard.
Overall, this is a nice primer but I'm weighing up the benefits of paying more. Read the complete review |

Garnier Fresh Essentials Eye Make-Up Remover
by thehonesttruth
I love dramatic eyeliner and statement lashes - and this usually means quite a lot of make up needing removing at the end of the night. Whilst I tend to use wet wipes for most of my face, I do like to use a specially designed product around my eyes, and the one I've been using most recently is Garnier Fresh Essentials, which costs ... around £3 in Boots.
I picked this one because I just really liked the look and sound of it - the bottle is green and fresh, very vibrant looking, and is clear so I can see just how much is, or isn't left. The bottle mentions that this is specially formulated for sensitive eyes, and that it is opthalmologically tested. It also states that it contains grape extract, removes even waterproof eye make-up, and that it is suitable for normal to sensitive skin.
I use this with the flat cotton wool pads, and give each pad a generous splosh of the thin liquid - I simply hold it to the top of the bottle, invert for a second, and then use it (a fresh pad for each eye, naturally). I did give it a quick sniff, and have to say although I could smell a very delicate crisp sweet smell, it wasn't really strong enough to identify it specifically as grape. But who cares, nobody ever got complimented on sweet smelling eye lids.
I usually wear primer, liner, shadow, and waterproof lengthening mascara on my eyes, so this had quite a job to do. The first thing I noticed was that this was very soothing on the eyes - cooling, and there was none of the tingling I normally get when I'm using something on the sensitive skin in that area. this seemed to remove the most of my eye makeup easily, but I did find that when I wore waterproof mascara, I did need to put a little extra effort into the scrubbing. I do feel that I managed to get thoroughly clean though, and my skin looked bright and fresh after using this. This caused no irritation to my skin at all, and actually I do feel that using this has improved my skin slightly, purely by dint of being able to get everything off properly.
At £3 it's not the cheapest eye make up remover out there, but I feel that with this product you're paying for a quality product that works, and works well. When you consider that a bottle of this can easily last a good three or four months, it's really not that expensive at all.
Overall, it's not the best I've tried, but it's one of them, and one I wouldn't hesitate to buy again. Read the complete review |
