L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Diamantissime
by Samantha82 I originally got this mascara in a free gift box from L'Oreal when I was stocking up on foundation. It has never been one that I use every day because it is supposed to have a bit of sparkle in it. However, I have never noticed the sparkles but nonetheless this is pretty good mascara. ***The packaging*** This comes ... in a pretty chunky tube with a slight sparkle to it and a gold lid. Overall it has a nice high end feel to the mascara and because the tube is quite chunky is very easy to use. The brush is a standard silicone/plastic design which is quite thick and tightly packed with the bristles themselves quick short (obviously to volumise the lashes) - however, the best thing about the brush is that it comes with an anti-clump devise. From what I can work out the neck of the mascara narrows so it removes any clumps when you use it making the mascara clump free which is great. ***The product*** According to L'Oreal this is supposed to "millionize your lashes for a maxed-up, fanned-out effect" and the Diamantissime variety is supposed to have added diamond powder for added sparkle. However, I have to say I have never noticed any sparkle on my lashes when I have used this. Instead, it's pretty good black mascara but don't expect anything particularly wow for evening. The design of the brush is very good so it goes on clump free (thanks to the nifty neck design) and it really does volumise the lashes. I am quite lucky in that I have quite long lashes so like to make them look slightly fuller and this does that really well. The brush separates and fans out the lashes and the do look fuller. However, it doesn't really curl the lashes so you will need to use an eyelash curler with this mascara but that isn't a problem at all. I also find that with some mascaras (particularly with Boots no7 for some reason) that I get a bit of a panda eye effect - even when I just apply the mascara to the top lashes - but this mascara has good staying power and lasts all day which is great. Overall it is a very good mascara and my lashes do look a lot fuller. ***Price*** This appears to have been just available in the free gift from what I can tell but the standard Volume Million Lashes mascara from L'Oreal is priced at £10.99 in places like Boots and comes in black, extra black and waterproof. I would probably try the black or extra black in future because I liked the look of this mascara even if there was no real sparkle. Read the complete review |

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Diamantissime
by Kirsty_89 DESCRIPTION I've worn mascara everyday for years now, it's the staple beauty item that I just couldn't leave the house without. This particular mascara by L'Oreal Paris is the "Volume Million Lashes" brand but this version has the added bonus of tiny sparkles! L'Oreal Paris dares you to not just volumize but ... millionize your lashes. I was given this mascara as part of a Christmas gift. PACKAGING The packaging of this mascara is really nice and I think it makes the product look very high end. The cap is a shiny gold colour whilst the barrel is black with silver glitter all over it. On the front we have the product name in black writing on a strip of shiny silver and then "diamantissime" written in gold on the black glittery background. On the back of the package there is a small diagram displaying the mascara wand with information beneath saying "new brush + anti clump wiper". PRICE The current price for this mascara is £10.99 you can purchase the product from places like Superdrug/Boots or online. FEATURES/SPECS Thick mascara wand with varying sizes of rubber spindles so that every lash is caught. The wand also comes to a point at one end to make it easier to reach the inner and outer corners of your eye. The mascara also has an anti clump wiper which is situated in the barrel, this applies pressure to the mascara wand on removal meaning that no big clumps of mascara are left on the wand. PERFORMANCE I personally think this is a really good mascara. The wand is very good and also very flexible meaning it coats lashes evenly and gently. The liquid is very dark for this black mascara which I like because I enjoy the more dramatic effect. The mascara separates lashes perfectly and does not leave lashes looking clumpy or stuck together. The main selling point of this mascara though is that it includes very small pieces of glitter. These pieces are so tiny and do not cause any irritation to the eye. They add a nice effect especially if going on a night out and really compliment the eye making it pop. Looking at the wand you can barely see the glitter but when applied to the eyelashes it becomes noticeable, it's not over the top either it is very subtle and pretty. You will notice just how much glitter is within the liquid mascara mix when removing the product with a make up remover pad or wipe! STAYING POWER From my experience this mascara has a good staying power, I never feel the need to top it up and it always lasts on a late night out! OVERALL I would definitely recommend this mascara but more as a night out or all done up mascara not necessarily for everyday use however the glitter is subtle and so it could be used everyday as well. L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Diamantissime
by juicy_lucy L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes I have recently bought several mascaras and when I bought this ne in Boots I was given a free gift, and I am an absolute sucker for free gifts! THE PROMISES... This promises to give maximum volume to lashes. It apparently has a special brush which has a multitude of bristles ... to separate lashes for a fanned-out effect. As well as all of this, it has an excess wiper to remove excess mascara so the result should be no overload, and no clumps. It also claims to give lashes a bit of a sparkle. PRODUCT AND PACKAGING... The mascara tube is quite a chunky one with a gold screw on off lid. It is black all over with very small gold sparkles covering the whole tube. The name of the product is written on a sparkly silver stripe and the side of the tube shows me the special brush. It's all very shiny and when in my make up bag impossible to mistake for something else. When I unscrew the lid and take out the wand I find that the brush itself has short bristles which thicken and lengthen towards the centre of the wand and which are quite tightly packed together. I am not sure where the excess wiper is so can assume only that it is inside the wand and wipes off the excess mascara when I pull the wand out of the tube because it does pull slightly when I take the wand out, and there is certainly no excess mascara left on the wand. I have the black and the product is available in blacker than black (whatever that is) and waterproof black. This one is nice and black and when I apply it does add plenty of black to my lashes making them look nice and dark.it doesn't clog on my lashes and does as it promises and separates my lashes effectively although I am not sure about the fanning of my lashes. When I test the mascara on my hand I cant see any sparkle but it does become a little apparent when I apply it to my lashes although not so much so that it's inappropriate for day time wear but just enough to look a bit shiny. APPLYING AND REMOVING... The mascara should be applied like usual mascaras by sweeping across the eye lashes from root to tip. This it does nice and smoothly and gives good even coverage with one application. Because it is not waterproof I find that it is easily removed using my normal eyemake up remover. PRICE AND AVAILABILITY... The mascara is available in chemists and supermarkets. RRP is £10.99 but at the moment the mascara comes free with other purchases made at Boots. VERDICT... A nice mascara which makes my lashes look nice and thick without clumping them together. Not sure whether the claims of the sparkle are worth mentioning because I could see no sparkle certainly on my upper lashes although my shorter lashes looked slightly sparkly. Decent enough if a bit pricey. I wouldn't rush to buy this but neither would I avoid it if I needed a new mascara Thanks for reading Daniela xx Read the complete review |
