Blingtone Silver Screen Eyeshadow
by kissandmakeup I'd been eyeing up (excuse the pun, ha ha!) this eyeshadow in Boots for quite a while, being unsure whether I wanted to take the plunge and pay such a large amount for a single eyeshadow, so when they had a 3 for 2 offer across all make up I decided this was the time to give it a go! Retailing at £12 normally for just a single eyeshadow, ... I was much happier trying it out for a discounted price. You can instantly see that the eyeshadow is of a high quality, it is highly pigmented and also apparently contains crushed pearls for a more intense shine. It goes on well, unlike most glittery types of eyeshadow you don't end up with dustings of glitter under your eyes and generally all over your face! It also lasts well throughout the evening, with no creasing, although I do always use an eyeshadow primer which helps. You can also choose how intense you want the colour, I wouldn't really wear it during the day anyway but if you do want a more subtle silver sheen you can just apply a very fine layer, or you can stick a load on and build it up for a really intense, metallic, almost foil-like look, which looks stunning. There are many colours available and there are also co-ordinating products in the 'myface.cosmetics' range. My only criticisms really are to do with the cost...... It comes in a basic, transparent, plastic tub with a flip lid and whilst it's not all about the packaging I would have expected a little more for the price. A little mirror inside the lid would have been nice but at the very least I would have expected to get an applicator with it. Read the complete review |

My Face R&B Rouge / Blusher
by amyjade90 I had been after a peachy pink blush with a little bit of gold shimmer running through it for quite some time. One that would be a good dupe for the very popular Nars Orgasm blush and after not being able to get my hands on the Sleek Rose Gold blush (which I am told is very good) I came across this in Boots when I was browsing on my ... lunch break as you do. I noticed that all the myfacecosmetics had 75% off and only very few products remained that looked like they hadn't been played with by toddlers. The blusher was originally £9.99 which I would have bypassed if I had seen it at full price but for under £2.50 it was worth a try. All the myfacecosmetics have three different categories for different skin tones, fair, medium and dark which I thought was a really good idea and not one that I had seen before on "high street" makeup brands. It does help a little although I have fair skin the blush I picked up in shade "Costa Del Soul" is supposedly aimed towards people with medium toned skin although I think with things like blush you can make the majority work for all skin tones. The packaging of the product is a large silver rectangular mirrored compact. The outside does have quite a thick clear plastic over the top which is great so I don't have to worry about shards of mirror breaking into my handbag and it seems pretty robust from being lugged around in my bag. The inside has a pretty large mirror for a product this size and it also contained a blusher brush which I haven't used as it is one of the flat very small ones that I find can make blusher streak. The product itself is very smooth, silky and soft. I find that I don't have to swirl my brush around in it too many times to pick up the right amount of product, and it isn't too soft that I have far too much product. The shade of this is really beautiful and at first I was slightly worried that the gold shimmer running through would make me look like my makeup had been applied by a 5 year old but as it is so finely milled it just adds a nice subtle glow. I find that you can really build the colour up if you prefer but I just use a very light amount and I find that this lasts me all day. I actually went back into Boots to see if they had stocked up on any more of the blushers in other colours with the 75% off but unfortunately the stand has now disappeared ready to be replaced with something else. You can still buy the myfacecosmetics online or it might be worth having a look in your local Boots branch to see if you can get any bargains! I really think that I would pay the original price of £9.99 as it is a really lovely blusher and I have been using it for quite some time and not even made a dent in it yet. My Face R&B Rouge / Blusher
by Kittenpeach I originally purchased this Blusher around 4-5 months ago, when I saw that Boot's had a 3 for 2 offer going on. I had noticed the Myface brand awhile back, but I always thought it was a touch expensive for a 'drugstore' brand, so I thought I would snap a few products up while they were on offer. Myface seem to be fairly ... unique among the other brands that you can typically find in Boots, because all of their products are split into three sections, which are supposedly ideal for fair, medium, and darker skin tones. I haven't actually seen any other brands do this, so I guess it is Myface's unique selling point! I think it's a fabulous idea, because sometimes it can be hard to determine whether a certain colour will suit you from swatches alone, but this brand gives you a little guidance. This blusher is currently retailing for £9.99, which like I said, I think is fairly pricey (it's currently part of a 3 for 2 in Boots). I love the packaging of the entire range - the blusher looks very sleek and minimalist. It is made out of white plastic, like the above picture shows, and I have not had any problems with cracks are breakages. I think you get a decent amount of product for your money, as I have been using mine every day for around 4 months, and there is plenty left. There is a good sized mirror included in the case for when you are on the go. They even throw in a mini brush, which I think is a nice touch! I haven't found myself using this particular brush all that much, as it is quite thin. I think it would be ideal if you are trying to achieve a more contoured look, but that's not something I usually go for. I have found that although this is a powder blusher, it is creamy and silky to the touch. I have actually been applying it with my fingers, just to the apples of my cheeks to achieve a rosy glow. It lasts all day, and it really does brighten up my complexion. As I have extremely fair skin, I went for the shade Paradiso Pink. It looks quite alarming at first sight, because it is a shockingly vibrant, tropical pink! Despite the intensity of the colour, I have found that with a light touch, it compliments my skin perfectly. You can build the colour up easily, and it is highly pigmented, meaning that a small amount goes a long way. It really does give pale skin a gorgeous pop of colour, and I will continue to be using it throughout the Summer. As far as I can tell from the Myface website, there are three blushers for each skin tone option, so you do get a bit of variety, and I would consider trying out some of the peachier shades in the future.
