A bargain lip liner from Aldi

I am not a huge fan of lip liner and lipstick in general and usually prefer to stick to a light gloss for everyday use but I do find that for those times when I need to wear a heavier lipstick a liner is needed to ensure that it does not bleed in to my lips.

The Lacura one is by Aldi and the reason that I bought it is because Lacura in general has become a bit of a beauty obsession for me lately since I discovered it. I find that the brand offers amazing value for money and outperforms much more expensive make-up items.

The liner is no different and for just under a pound you get a great lip liner that you would be hard pressed to fault.
To use all you need to do is twist the bottom to make the liner come up and down which saves loads of time in not having to sharpen and it means that I can just get it out of my make-up bag whenever I need it and not worry about finding a sharpener or taking the time to do it.

The colour of the liner is matt and it goes on really smoothly and easily without any hassle. The colour is nice and subtle and I don't end up looking like a drag queen as it blends really well with my lipsticks (which are also from Aldi) It really does help to keep the colour on my lips from bleeding and I do find it to be really long lasting too. It stays put for absolutely ages and I don't find myself having to constantly reapply.

The only downside with the lip liner is the usual complaint that I have with Lacura products and that is that it can be hard to get in my local Aldi and also the colour selection isn't the greatest. It has all the usual 'normal' shades but like the lipstick you won't find any usual colours.

If your local aldi is stocking it then I really recommend that you buy a couple as you never know when they are going to have it in again. The liner should last for ages if like me you only use it once in a while but at the bargain price it pays to stock up on it.

A great lipliner available in a few colours from Aldi!

Lipliner is not something I use very often. I do buy them from time to time with the best of intentions of using them but if your anything like me you will buy one and then use it once before going out or something and then the rest of the night say.... forget all about it and simply apply your lip-gloss or lippy or whatever! However I have been visiting Aldi a bit lately as I've read good reviews on some of their things especially their make-up range and I really liked one of their foundations I tried out recently so I decided to purchase one of these at the price of 89p a lipliner and there were a few choices of colours to choose from too!

      The Lipliner:

Long thin plastic tube like a pencil with a matching long lid to one end of it. The colour of the casing of the lipliner is the same as your chosen colour (so in my case mine is shell pink). Lengthways down the pencil and in silver writing I'm told it is Lacura 'The magic of beauty' Lipliner and my colour is stated and then around the back of it contact details for Aldi are given. That's actually it in the information stakes apart from being told to use it up within 12 months so they've kept it all very simple.

      Using It:

Easy to use.... this is. What you get is a thin stick of moist colour that you twist the pencil from the centre (after removing the lid of course lol) and that action makes the colour move up and down.

All you do with a lipliner of course is line the outer of your lips and with this it really is very simple to do so with. It's moist so it comes off with ease but it isn't wet as such and doesn't feel greasy or go clumpy and to assist this happening you only need to reveal a little of the colour to the tip of the pencil and you use very little per application.

Once on I find it stays put and really does define my lips for a good couple of hours and even when I've lost the rest of lip colour I have applied over it.

You can of course use this as a lipstick if you wanted to it's that easy to apply and if you wanted a bit of gloss (as this contains none and is a matt colour to create definition with) then of course you could use some gloss over the top if you so desire.

      Verdict:

A really good economy buy this is. It doesn't look cheap to be seen with, it's easy to use, long lasting and simply as good as far more expensive lipliners I have used in the past. I would certainly purchase this again as I think it's rather excellent!
