      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Love this bronzer

      ==Overview==

      Avon Pressed Bronzer in Shimmering Bronze is one of my staple items in my makeup bag. It comes from the Arabian Glow range of Avon which is the bronzing range, though they have it available in the catalogue all year round, you might see special editions of lipsticks and nail varnish appear in this range during the summer months. They have recently re-named the range "Avon Glow". The pressed powder is 10g and is usually around £6-£8 depending on offers. The website currently doesn't have it in stock but Avon reps may still be able to get it for you through their clearance catalogues.

      ==The powder==

      The powder itself lasts ages. I have literally used this since I started wearing makeup and each powder lasts years, although you aren't supposed to keep them that long due to bacteria. I use the bronzer with a large bronzer brush from Avon and like the colour 'Shimmering Bronze' best for my skin tone, even though I am fairly pale. When I am tanned, I just use a bit more, when pale, use a bit less, it can be built up really nicely. There is another colour which appears sometimes which is called 'Shimmering Sun' and this for me is too yellowy and pale. Although 'Shimmering Bronze' looks quite orange when it is pressed, when it is on the skin it can be quite subtle and just give you a nice healthy glow.

      A few years ago I decided that there must be better makeup brands than AVON out there and for some items I find that to be true, but having tried Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder and MAC bronzers, I have always come back to this, perhaps it is just perfect for my skin tone? I'm not sure but I love it and for the price you just can't beat it. It doesn't feel heavy on the skin but can be built up into a richer tone if you want to look more bronzed. I find using it over a light foundation or primer at the least works best to keep it on throughout the the day. The staying power isn't brilliant which is it's only real fault but I can touch it up where necessary so I don't mind too much.

      ==Overall==

      You won't find a better bronzer for the price. If you can't get it from an Avon rep or online try eBay as they seem to have lots of AVON stuff on there lately. I would buy this again and have bought it multiple times before, an excellent product that will take a lot of beating.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        An inexpensive bronzer that gives a lovely healthy glow!

        I like many other women like the sunkissed look, it can also hide a multitude of sins when you have maybe had a late night out on the tiles or are up seeing to your little one (which is more likely for me nowadays). I have tried many bronzer's over the years (mainly as they have been on offer somewhere and I have thought why not)!. However, I always go back to Arabian Glow It gives a smooth finish and a nice healthy look. I buy the Shimmering Bronze as I find the others either a bit too dark or a little on the orange side. It does have a little sparkle to it or should I say shimmer but not so much that it's not suitable for everyday use. I use mine daily and it can easily last me a good few months in fact my current one is still going strong and I have had it 5 months!

        Disadvantages

        Brilliant bronzing on a budget.

        ~*~*~ Arabian Glow Pressed Powder ~*~*~

        Being a regular buyer of Avon products I recently purchased this bronzer - Arabian Glow Pressed Powder.
        It comes in 2 different shades

        *Deep Bronze
        *Shimmering Bronze

        I have it in Deep Bronze. I choose the darker shade as I didn't really was a shimmering bronzer. I have in the past bought the shimmering bronze and have purchased other shimmering bronzers which are great for going out for a drink when you want to glam up a bit more but I don't really find them suitable for me for everyday wear.

        I am naturally a blonde who is quite fair skinned and I don't really like being pale so I do like to use bronzers and fake tans to give me a bit of colour.

        I saw this in the Avon brochure on offer just before Christmas for about £4 and as I was running low on my usual bronzer decided to add it to my order. The colour looks really nice in the brochure and when it did come I was shocked by how dark it actually looked!

        When my Avon rep brought my order as always I was eager to open the bag and see what I had acctually purchased, this came in a little golden coloured cardboard box, opening it I was happy to see a little gold coloured compact with a nice flip top lid, it has a little button push thingy to open it which I think is quite nice compared to other where the lid just comes off... especially in your make-up bag, breaking the bronzer and making a massive mess!

        It comes with a little spongy type applicator.... use a brush it's better!
        Opening up the compact (like I have previously mentioned) I was shocked by just how dark this bronzer was, I used the applicator and brushed a little on cheek and it looked like I had rubbed dirt in my face! But then I grabbed my large blusher brush and swirled it over the bronzer and used this to apply the make-up to my face and it looked fab.

        I tend not to use foundation just a bronzer as my complexion is pretty good so I use this alone and it adds a nice natural colour and as there is no shimmer to it it does look great.

        I use this every day and so far I haven't noticed it going down at all, you really only need a little of the product as it does go a long way so I think it will last ages.

        It has a usual retail price of £7.50 but grab it when it's on offer for £5 or under and you have a bargain. It lasts all day when applied and doesn't feel heavy on your face.

        Thanks for reading :o) x

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Nice powder which lasts a long time

        ** About the Product**
        Arabian Glow Pressed Powder
        10g
        From Avon
        Online price on Avon is £3.75 (this is a half price offer)

        **Packaging**
        The powder is in a golden coloured compact case. It is easily opened as it has a release button. This added feature will also stop the product opening be accident and product covering your clothes. This has happened to me before and it was not pretty. It also comes with a mirror and a makeup pad to apply the product.

        **My Opinion**
        As I am fairly pale I need some powder to add a bit of colour to my cheeks. When I ordered this it looked like the perfect colour. When it was delivered I was a bit scared, it almost looked orange. Once I applied the product with a brush it looked ok. If you are pale like me, I would not apply too much, as you may end up looking like you are a cast member on TOWIE. The colour lasts nearly the whole day, but if you are going out straight after work/college/university then I would just give your face another brush with it. I have had this product for ages and use it almost every day and I still have loads left. It is a product which lasts and is great value for money.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        An affordable but effective bronzer from Avon

        I am a fan of bronzers as I think they can sometimes give you a much needed glow when needed and my usual bronzers of choice come in the form of pearls or multi-tone blocks. However when I saw this bronzing pressed powder on offer in Avon I thought I would give it a go.

        PACKAGING

        The pressed powder comes in an oval shaped golden compact which has a button that needs to be pressed to open it. I like this feature, it may only seem like a small feature that isn't particularly important but the last thing I would want is for a pressed powder to open, smash and go everywhere. This has happened to me with blusher before and I was not impressed!

        When you open the compact you will see that there is a mirror in the lid. I was quite surprised by this but it was much welcomed as it comes in handy if you want to top up your makeup whilst you are on the go as the mirror is of a good size and is protected by a foam sponge that comes in the compact.

        USING THE BRONZER

        When I first opened the compact my first impressions of the powder itself were "wow that's dark!" It is a very deep brown, almost similar to the colour of bricks. I was a bit worried about how it would look on my face as I am quite pale and I only tend to use the lighter shades of bronzer that are almost golden.
        Not one to dismiss a product without trying it I reached for my kabuki brush as I find that this is the best way to apply bronzer in order to get a nice even coverage.

        I swirled my brush gently into the powder and to my surprise as I looked at the brush there was no excess whatsoever. There was a small amount of excess powder on the powder block itself but this was minimal. I was expecting there to be a lot of waste and loose powder but this was a pleasant surprise.
        I proceeded to applying the bronzer onto my face. As I had only put a small amount onto the brush to test it I could see that this was all I needed. The powder swept gently over my face to create a sun kissed look that wasn't over the top. The powder blended well with my foundation and didn't look layered or messy.

        The next time I tried using the bronzer I tried putting a bit more on the brush to start with and it did look layered but I fixed this by blending it in with my brush. In this respect the bronzer might take some getting used to but if you try with only a small amount you will see that a small amount does make a big difference to your look.

        I have also found that when you have used the bronzer it does seem to last a good length of time on your skin. If I do not apply primer or set my makeup it will last around 4 hours before the colour begins to fade. With primer and setting though it will last all day or night if you are out on the town.

        CONCLUSION

        For my first experience of using a bronzing block that only has one shade this has been a good one. Personally I do think I prefer having multi-tones as I find these products give your face that extra glow but I think I would repurchase this product again just to keep handy.

        As with a lot of products from Avon you can expect them to be on offer a lot of the ime and I managed to pick mine up for £3, usual price £7.50, so look out for this. All in all this was a great buy!
