My goal was:
to find an eye-liner which I can use every day and which is REALLY lasting - as for the colour I wanted something similar to black but a bit less dramatic.
Actually I was offered a different brand but I just could not get it, so I let myself talked into Artdeco Soft Eyeliner (Waterproof) by an assistant at local Douglas store.
Which I've never regretted!
I bought number 32, which is a colour somewere between black and bluish-grey. Looks very nice and it is quite neutral - I can use it with any other colours. Of course if your natural colours are warmer, you should go for some brown. There are also less neutral ones: silver grey, blue, green etc. all seemed very pretty but I have not tried them.
It is very dark grey (almost black) on the outside, the cap has the colour of the eyeliner. I have read at Artdeco homepage that it is from wood - but I actually thought it was plastic as it is quite hard - I found a bit too hard to sharpen. This was the only minor drawback - I could not sharpen it very sharp. (See the picture - it is THAT sharp) I personally do not think it is a huge problem, but if you like drawing lines as thin as a hair, maybe you will not be that content - but it is a SOFT eye liner, isn't it? Still not too soft, texture is just good.
I put on some at the store before I bought it and after that I went to a spa hotel, swam some, went to the sauna, had a shower, washed my hair etc. and in the end I looked into the mirror (I totally forgot that I had it on my eyes) and it was still there!! Since I'm using it it never wore off, even when I cried: it stayed.
To remove it I use a two-base make-up remover, of course it won't come off with a simple facial cleanser.
It is somewhat more expensive than MaxFactor, Rimmel, L'Oréal etc but much cheaper than luxury brands. It is well worth it! (I checked internet prices, it costs about ten pounds.)
