Bronzer isn't a product that I use on a regular basis. I tend to find that bronzer always looks over the top no matter how little you use and really I feel that a lot of women who wear it look a little ridiculous. I actually received this bronzer from my sister who thought the same as I did but didn't want it to go to waste so I decided to give it a try and see what I thought! It has been languishing on my dressing table since then and I've actually used it a few times with fairly favourable results.
This product is available from Avon and costs between £6.00 and £10.00 depending on promotions available at the time. It is currently £6.00 in the Avon catalogue and I am sure that my sister would have got this when it was on special offer as like me she loves a good bargain.
The packaging for this is very simple really with the bronzing pearls being contained in a plastic pot with a screw top lid. I just use a make up brush to swish around in this pot and then rub across my cheekbones or a light dusting on my cleavage just to enhance it a little. To my knowledge these pearls do not come with a make-up brush but I have a vast array of them anyway so I'm not too worried. Taking the lid off this can be something of a delicate matter because loose dust can be blown everywhere and on two occasions I've made a right mess of my dressing table! There is a little piece of circular foam that sits above the pearls so as long as I am careful taking this out I don't have any problems really and it is just my carelessness that causes problems.
The pearls are difference shades of bronze, gold and beige really. There is a variety of different colours to ensure that the bronzer isn't too over the top which is nice. They shimmer nicely and all have a nice pearlescent finish to them. I would say that there is around 80-100 pearls but I'm not sure of the exact amount and I'm not going to count them even for the purposes of a review! Some of the pearls are a little broken up now where I've been quite rigorous with the make-up brush but generally this has taken a long time to start to go down even after having been used by my friends a little too often on nights out.
Generally I only use this across my cheekbones and on my cleavage as I feel that anywhere else it can look over the top. The colour that I get from using this bronzer is deep without being over the top and it is nice and even despite the different coloured pearls. I do run the brush across my cheekbones just once or twice to ensure that there is only a light covering as I just cannot stand heavy make-up and feel that it can look trashy on me. I get a lovely natural looking glow from using these pearls and so far my overly critical friend (who I seem to be out drinking with a lot recently!) has only had good things to say about this so I'm glad I've given it a try! The look of this really suits me but I only tend to wear it for nights out in bars/clubs as for anywhere else I just feel that it would stand out too much against my pale complexion and especially given that it is Winter!
This bronzer is very simple to remove using make-up wipes and I have not had any problems with my sensitive skin either.
In all it is fair to say that I have been quite pleased with these, particularly because they were free! I would rate these 4 out of 5 as they are very simple to use but one brush too far can lead to me needing to remove my make-up and start all over again as this bronzer, like all bronzer, can look heavy and too dramatic against pale skin if over used. This of course is just down to user error really but it is something that has happened to me once or twice. I would recommend this if you use bronzer as it is simple to use and works very well too!
Avon is one of those brands that I have a real love/hate relationship with. I dread another friend or neighbour deciding to give it a go and then giving me the catalogue in hopes that I will place an order. Every time I always feel obliged to place an order as I can never seem to avoid them forever. Luckily there is always something in the books that catches my eye.
The Arabian glow bronzing pearls are part of the Arabian Glow range from Avon and I think I have bought everything from the range at one point or another as it is one of my favourite ranges that Avon do so even if nothing catches my eye from the catalogue I know I can always just order some more of these.
You can get them in both Bronzed and in Sun Kissed and they come in a container which has loads of little bronzing pearls of different shades to give you a sun kissed glow. The bronzed ones make you look like you have been to Spain for two weeks while the sun kissed ones give you a more natural look as though you have caught the sun while gardening.
The bronzing ones can make you look very dark so I wouldn't recommend these ones unless you already have a tan or are dark skinned. I tend to only use these ones in the summer or else when I am going out and have some fake tan on. The sun kissed ones are much better for my winter skin and just gives me a hint of a tan.
I find that the pearls are really good at not overloading my brush and I only get a light dusting from them so if I want to go darker I need to brush the pearls a few times. I prefer this as it is better to start a little bit lighter and build some colour rather than going too dark too quickly.
The bronzed ones do have a tiny hint of orangness about them but to be honest when I am loading up on bronzer I don't mind that because I am clearly not going for the natural look if I am wearing dark bronzer on top of fake tan.
These cost £10 which I do think is a little bit expensive for Avon as you can buy similar quality ones on the high street cheaper but when they are on offer as they often are then they are much better value. If you are looking for some bronzing pearls then you could do a lot worse than looking at buying these.
I have been using these bronzing pearls for about ten years now, I don't wear make up on a daily basis and so only use them on a rare night out or if going to a restaurant.
Over the years the tub they come in has changed along with the packaging but the quality of the product remains the same.
I don't wear any foundation at all I just use a kabuki brush and sweep the pearls and then gently brush the bronzer onto my face. I have a sort of olive skin colouring and these seem to match perfectly, they don't look like I am wearing anything, they just seem to give me a little sun kissed holiday look.
They also now sell them in two shades cool for fair skin or warm for dark skin and at the moment the price for them is £10.00 from Avon. I have never paid this price because they last me a long time I end up purchasing when they are on offer because I only change them when I have had them for a year (hygienic reasons) and so I have never 'ran out'. Even after a year the pearls are still useable and still have the same effect as the day you open them.
The only problem you may encounter would be if you dropped them - especially if you have a cream carpet! But as long as your careful this shouldn't happen, or you would spend ages trying to pick them all up as they are quite small individual balls.
I check the Avon brochure every campaign and if I see them on offer - especially near Christmastime when they have sets for the same price as the pearls on their own, then I will get myself some as I would not like to pay £10.00 although that being said £10.00 is still a pretty good price when compared to some other top brand bronzing pearls which do the same job.
This is definitely a must have and I also brush it onto my arms if I want them to have a little shimmer too so they are pretty versatile.
The Arabian glow bronzing pearls was a gift I received from a friend who had purchased them and didn't like the tone they left on her face, due to her skin being quite dark she felt the colour was too warm for her and offered them to me. You will know by any previous reviews that I personally don't like a heavy bronzer anyways and if it was warm for her dark skin it would probably make me look like an umpa lumpa. There are 2 shades available and she did go for the darker shade.
The product comes in a bronzed coloured tub which has now changed a little from the picture on dooyoo. It is now called Avon glow bronzing pearls. Although the design is similar it now has the Arabian glow logo on the lid. When buying this product you will need to purchase a bronzing brush separately.
The product promises to provide a sun-kissed glow to the skin which is shimmering and luminous to provide a tan that looks natural. The pot contains many pearls which vary slightly in colour and you use a brush to rub around them till the brush is fairly coated, you then apply the bronzer to places that would naturally catch the sun i.e. nose, cheeks and forehead. I can confirm that the darker shade is no good for me whatsoever; in fact an umpa lumpa didn't have a thing on my face.
I brushed this off as being something I just wouldn't wear and considering I don't use bronzer much I just couldn't warrant paying a tenner to try the lighter version. A few months after my mam told me she had a few make-up items that I could have if I wanted coz she didn't like or use them anymore so I went to have a look, she pulled out the Arabian glow bronzing pearls and said you can have those they are too dark for me which I replied I've already tried these and they are too dark. I removed the lid to see that these were actually the lighter coloured pearls so I took them to try.
The lighter colour is a lot better than the dark and although I still feel it is a bit heavy and it certainly doesn't look as natural as I had imagined. I only used a small amount of this product at each time and I must admit it did look more sun-kissed and natural the less you use. After using nearly every day for 2 weeks I started noticing that my skin didn't feel so good and I started getting a fair few spots and they were a decent size too and quite sore. I never normally get spots and I always remove my make-up so I just put it down to stress at the time.
I later found out that it seemed to be the pearls that weren't agreeing with my skin. After i stopped using the product my skin immediately got better. Maybe there's something in that doesn't agree with me. Overall I couldn't warrant paying a tenner for this product and the shades you receive are a lot darker in real life than they are in the book. With only 2 shades available it can be hard to get one to suit you.
I bought this product from the Avon book quite a few years ago and its something I wear from time to time, usually in the summer when I want to give my face and decollatage a bit of a glow. Avon say that this pearls will give skin the luminous look of a natural tan and I do agree and like the look that I can achieve with these pearls. The nice thing about Avon is that they offer everyday products but as quite cheap prices and usually the quality is very good.
The pearls come in a round plastic tub that has a screw top lid. The lid is easy to open and the pearls stay securely in there when they are not in use although I would say that you do need to open it quick carefully to make sure none of the pearls come out if you shake the tub a little. I know I often have the pearls in my make up bag if I travel and they get shaken up a bit so you do need to be careful. There is a foam circle at the top of the tub which just comes out when you open up the tub and keeps the pearls in place. You can see on the under side of this that it also helps to keep some of the powder from the pearls in place too.
There are probably about 75 to 100 little pearls in the tub. They are quite small and are a little bit smaller than a pea. The pearls are different colours, there is quite a yellowish pearl, a terracotta coloured pearl and a bit darker of a terracotta colour, more brownish. They all have a shimmer/bronzing powder on them so when you put a big brush into the tub and swish it about you get a sweep of different colours which help to give your face a nice bronzed look and some depth to it rather than just one colour.
I was quite disappointed that this product did not come with a make up brush with which to apply the bronzing powder as this would be very helpful. I had a brush already that I could use but if you don't you would need to go out and purchase one. I would recommend one of those big brushes with short bristles as you will get lots of colour all over the top of the bristles and then can use it to sweep all over your face.
I tend to sweep this colour over my cheek bones and then a little bit on my forehead and one my chest area. I find it gives a really nice even colour and does not look like you've just brushed some sparkly bronzer over you thankfully. It does make my face really glow and it looks like a have a bit of natural colour rather than a powdery colour. I only apply a sweep or too but I guess if you want a more dramatic colour you can apply a lot more.
The pot is described as having 22g and costs £6 which I think is a really good price for a product like this as more upmarket brands will cost a lot more. I don't know whether its just my skin but I always seem to get a spot or two a couple of days after I have used these bronzing pearls. I don't know whether its because they are old now or whether they are quite greasy but it is an annoying after problem with these, I wonder if anyone else suffers this or its just me. However, that is not enough of a problem to put me off so I do recommend these pearls.
I bought these pearls a while ago now, I know this 'cos mine are around the size of a small bead now.
These pearls are priced at £10 per pot. The pearls weigh 22g and they come in different colours. These colours are designed to be used together to create a "bronzed" look. The packaging is nice. The pot is also a bronzed colour and it helps to protect the pearls when they are not being used. The pearls have a subtle fragrance, which is nice and not at all unpleasant.
The pearls are designed to be used with a brush. I simply use a blusher brush with them, swirling the brush around the pearls to pick up some of their powder. I then apply the powder to areas that I think need bronzing. I usually apply them to my cheekbones, my neck and my shoulders. The pearls give you a lovely subtle hint of shimmer and they make you look healthier and less pale. I have very pale skin and these pearls give me a more radiant look, leaving me glowing and sunkissed.
The pearls don't make you look orange. They just give you a bronzed look without leaving you looking like you've just stepped out of T.O.W.I.E. They last ages too. You will notice that in time they decrease in size. However this process takes forever. I've had my pot for well over a year and they've only decreased in size by around a half.
Lovely bronzing pearls without the orange factor.
Being naturally paler than Casper, and not a fan of wearing darker foundations as they never give me the healthy look, just tango'ed, I use bronzing pearls to achieve a natural healthy glow.
Avon's Arabian Glow Bronzing Pearls are definitely my favourite, I first used some years ago when I spent a time being an Avon representative and determined to try every type of make up in the brochure, but this is one of the gems I found and am still using daily. Although not cheap at around £9 (depending on offers available) they are definitely worth the pennies as they last me around a year with daily use. The bronze container is sturdy with a secure screw lid, despite being dropped many a time it hasn't cracked! And the pearls themselves are protected further by a sponge inside the pot.
Four different shades of pearls gives a beautiful and natural glow to the skin, just swirl your face of blusher brush to pick up the colour and apply to the areas of your face you want to bronze, I find best to apply a little at a time and build up colour rather than going overboard on first attempt. Maybe not the best product for someone who is already very tanned as they aren't particularly dark in colour (part of the reason I love them) but definitely give your skin a bronzed and healthy glow.
I'm a big fan of Avon products. I probably buy something from the catalogue every month or so but I love scouring through it every week for a new bargain or new fascinating product. Usually I don't stray too far from my regular fragrances and moisturisers but every now and then I splash out and buy some make-up or children's clothes.
**Arabian Glow Bronzing Pearls**
I came across these when I was on the hunt to find a replacement bronzer. (My old fave sun shimmer died when my daughter's hands came across it)!! This caught my eye immediately as it looked fascinating and quite different. I had never bought any bronzing pearls before and I was quite interested. The catalogue promised a healthy glow through use and to be honest, who doesn't want a healthy glow on a Monday morning!!?! The model in the catalogue wearing this bronzer looked amazing too, tanned, sultry and sexy. I can deal with this, I thought to myself!!
The picture was the first thing that caught my eye. The second...? The amazing bargain. Normally retailing at £9 a pop (which to be fair, is quite pricey in comparison to my usual £5.50...!), these little pearls were on offer at half price..£4.50. So, naturally, I bought 2!!
**Arrival and Application**
As per norm, my purchases arrived around a week and a half after I sent my order in through my trusty rep.(She never fails me!!) I was excited about one thing and one thing only....all other purchases got tossed to the side on this occasion. They arrived at 5pm, just in time as I was just getting ready to head out for dinner. Peachy!! I put on my normal primer and foundation first and then applied two sweepings of the bronzer. I was quite nervous actually as some bronzers can appear quite orange and fake looking rather than natural and glowing. The pearl beads were a mizture of browns and oranges so it was hard to tell the outcome. The product came in a small brown pot with a twisty cap and a sponge nestled over the pearl beads so that they wouldn't get damaged. I didn't use the spnge to apply mine however. I sued a powder brush that I had already. I have since used the sponge though and wouldn't recommend it as you don't get the same results
**Result & Overall**
I didn't come out of my first experience resembling an oompa-loompa. But I also didn't come out with the arabian healthy glow I was promised. It did look nice and my face appeared nicely bronzed but to be honest I was expecting more. I had to dip my brish in numerous times to get a proper dusting on it so this was a disadvantage but there are so many beads in there that it does last quite a long time. There was no need for me to get two as the first lasted me so long and by then I was back to my trusty old brand. It wasn't as glittery or tangoed as some would be and it did last me all night. It is a good purchase for £4.50 but for £9 it isn't worth the buy. It isn't a prouduct I would become devoted to but for a change it was ok.
Review of Avon Arabian Glow Bronzing Pearls
Available from Avon representatives or the Avon website, these bronzing pearls retail at around £9 for a 22g pot.
The bronzing pearls are presented in a sturdy brown plastic pot, with a twist-off lid. The pearls are protected by a circular sponge and a plastic cover. The pearls themselves are a mixture of pink, brown and tan coloured pea sized pearls of compressed bronzing powder. Avon say that the pearls contain light-reflective pigments that help create a warm, healthy-looking glow.
The pearls also have a lovely sweet smell.
==How to Use==
The pearls are designed to be applied with a brush to skin to give a healthy bronzed effect. I have found the pearls are easily broken if you are too heavy handed, but they do give a very good coverage. The depth of colour can be built up, but I would advise caution if users are fair skinned as it is very easy to overdo it! I have a fairly dark complexion, particularly during the summer months and I find these bronzing pearls give me a natural finish. They can be used over foundation and other make up; or on bare skin equally well.
A quick swirl with a large make up brush over the temples, cheeks and bridge of the nose warms the skin tone, giving a natural, golden tone. A light dusting on the shoulders and décolletage gives a sun-kissed glow for evening use.
==Availability and Price==
Available only from Avon. Products can be ordered from Avon representatives or direct form the Avon website.
There is only the one size available and the price is currently £9. Avon often have special offers so it is worth watching for these.
==My Thoughts and Conclusion==
I really love this product!
Arabian Glow Bronzing Pearls are very versatile, they can be used as a bronzer, as a blusher or even an eye-shadow. I have been using them for many years and although I have to admit that the pot doesn't look particularly attractive, it is a must have in my opinion.
Avon Arabian Glow Bronzing Pearls are not too glittery or metallic as some bronzers I have tried have been. The glow is long lasting, it does not flake or fade easily and I have worn this all day with no need to touch up. Removal is simple, the bronzer whisks away with my facial wipes or cleanser.
The pearls are very long lasting, I have had my current pot for over a year and there is still lots left. Unlike some brands, I cannot see an advisory 'use by' time on the pot, however in fairness to Avon, as my pot is quite old and worn I cannot categorically say that the information is not given.
As mentioned, my complexion is quite dark, even without a suntan, I find the bronzing pearls give me a little lift. They are easy to use, easy to blend and are an all round good product.
I am awarding Avon Arabian Glow Bronzing Pearls a 5* rating and highly recommend to others.
Thank you for reading.

N.B. My reviews may be found on other sites under the same user name.
These pearls are great value for money. At first I thought they were pretty expensive at £9-10 in the catalogue, however you can now pick them up when they are on offer for about £5 so definately worth buying when they are on offer at this price.
The pearls last for a very long time and so it is great value for money even if you did end up buying them at full price. The actual pearls come in different shades, and together they blend very well onto skin. they are easy to apply, with a blusher brush, and long lasting. As the product is best applied with a Blusher bursh, it allows for an even spread over the skin. It feels great on your skin, and leaves a lobely glowing tone on the cheeks.
The pearls are an all year round must have. In the winter they add a warm look to your skin, and in summer they leave you looking bright and glowing. They can be worn with a subtle look during the day, and can be worn with other make up for a night/evening out.
The tub that the pearls come in is a bit big, and so it wouldnt be ideal to take out with you if you were going out with a small bag. However, a large bag would mean you could take it with you everywhere.
Overall great product!
I looked like a bronze bust when I had finished applying this. My friend bought it me as part of a Christmas present. I couldn't wait to try it as I have a fair complexion and am nearly always in need of a bit of colour. Given the previous reviews I am beginning to wonder whether it was my application technique (altough I am quite a conservative makeup applier) which led me to look so ridiculous but needless to say I did. I applied it to my face which made my white neck stand out, so I brushed a little on there too, I gradually got lower and lower until I decided to remove it and revert back to my usual products.
I have tried it again since and the experience was much improved which, I put down to it being spring /summer and having a tan. It did indeed look good and I was quite impressed with the results.
The packaging is cheap and cheerful in typical avon style. I am a fan of avon as it offers quality products at good prices and it's what's inside that counts.
I have to rate this product based upon both of my experinces. I can't be the only one with fair skin. I would only use it to enhance a reasonable tan and stay well clear otherwise. It won't go in the bin but I won't be buying it again either.
I have a few different brands of bronzer in my make up bag and this is definately one of my favorites! Avon Arabian Glow Bronzing Pearls come in a cute little pot and are protected with a sponge cover! Like i said I have a few bronzers but I do always seem to go back to this. For a full size pot you are £9 but you will find that alot if times this is on special ie: a reduced price or a multi buy option! I love the healthy glow it gives your face especially if you have a tan (fake or natural) and I don't think it's too orange or shimmery just nice and bright! I don't feel that this needs constantly reapplied either! I think that this bronzer is a good price and for me always lasts a long time! Every girl should have these bronzing pearls in their cosmetic bag!! X
These Arabian Glow Bronzing Pearls had caught my eye a few times while browsing through the Avon brochure, i'm often looking for new tanning products as i'm fair skinned and i prefer to have a more bronzed look. I was however put off by the price of them, they were £7 at the time and i was only a student and didn't want to pay this amount in case it turned out they didn't work very well. But finally they were on special offer and i snapped them up at half price.
The pearls come in a little bronze tub and then the pearls themselves are different shades of light and dark bronzes, golds and browns. I crushed the pearls in my pot a bit so that i could get a better coverage with them and i was happy with the results. They definetely gave my skin some noticeable colour, a lovely healthy glow to put it simply. I didn't look like i'd been "Tangoed" so to speak, they just gave me a natural looking light tan.
I also found that the glow lasted all day so my little tub of pearls lasted me quite a long time. I did notice though the other day when looking through the Avon brochure, the price of these pearls have gone up and they now cost £9 which i think is a little bit too much to pay so i'm probably only likely to buy them again if they are on special offer.
I bought the Avon Arabian Glow Bronzing Pearls when they were on special along with the multi-stylo. Currently they are available full price for £9.00.
The pearls come in a medium sized brown-gold pot, with the Avon 'A' logo on the front, but with not additional pictures or words aside from that. On the base there is a sticker detailing the company, the product title, weight (22g) and suggested shelf life (24 months). To find the ingredients and directions for use, check the back of the box that the pot arrived in, as this isn't available on the pot itself (a bit of a design flaw there!). The lid is a basic screw cap, and turns on and off nice and easily.
Avon's Suggested Directions For Use
BRONZING PEARLS: Apply with a dusting brush to face and body for an all over golden glow.
The pearls themselves are small spherical pellets of brown and peach/gold colour, and don't actually look appeal at all. The amount of pearls you get is very minimal but, thank goodness, you don't need to scrub them to death to get out a decent coloured blush from them. I would say they fill up about one third of the pot that they are delivered in. I'm actually quite happy with the depth of the pot as it means when you are gathering the colour by mixing them around with your brush they don't all ping and pop out of the pot. The colours you are likely to get out of these pearls are a reddish browny-bronze colour which will work on sun tanned or dark skin tones, but leave great red/orange looking streaks on very fair skin tones. The pearls actually have a slight sweet scent to them as well, which is a nice addition to the normal simply powdery scent of make-up.
When applying this make-up I would suggest using a contoured blusher brush, and swirling the pearls around for a second or two with the brush, before tapping the brush on the side of the pot lest any pearls get stuck in the bristles (as this happens very regularly - one of my bugbears with this product), and then sweeping across the entire face for a glow or just along the cheek bones for blush. This product can definitely be used as a good blusher because it is fairly dark and can build up a nice glowy richer colour if you apply more than one coat.
Overall I would say this is a good product for those of us with darker skin, but less good for fairer types, unless using solely as a blusher. The price is steep for what you're getting though, unless you use it frequently, thankfully it keeps for longer than its shelf life quite happily.
I bought Arabian glow bronzing pearls years ago and loved them then, and I have recently started buying Avon products again as a friend has become a rep.
I bought these a few months ago in an offer but they are usually priced at £8.50 for a 22g pot. They are currently on offer for £5 in the latest brochure though.
They come in a small bronzy coloured pot with a screw top lid, if I remember rightly there's a little sponge on top to keep the pearls secure (although this may have been different ones!!).
In the pot theres loads of little balls in a few different shades. Upon using your make-up brush the colours combine and create a lovely colour.
I find these bronzing pearls excellent and don't make you look orange at all, just lightly dusted over your cheeks and where ever else you want to apply it will leave you looking gorgeously bronzed. They also have good staying power on your skin and will last all day and not wear off like some products.
They last well too, I use this everyday and I haven't really noticed the amount in the pot decreasing, so I think they are pretty good value for money too.
