Advantages: Pearls are different than an average powder

Disadvantages: gives spots, colours, un-natural

The Arabian glow bronzing pearls was a gift I received from a friend who had purchased them and didn't like the tone they left on her face, due to her skin being quite dark she felt the colour was too warm for her and offered them to me. You will know by any previous reviews that I personally don't like a heavy bronzer anyways and if it was warm for her dark skin it would probably make me look like an umpa lumpa. There are 2 shades available and she did go for the darker shade.

The product comes in a bronzed coloured tub which has now changed a little from the picture on dooyoo. It is now called Avon glow bronzing pearls. Although the design is similar it now has the Arabian glow logo on the lid. When buying this product you will need to purchase a bronzing brush separately.

The product promises to provide a sun-kissed glow to the skin which is shimmering and luminous to provide a tan that looks natural. The pot contains many pearls which vary slightly in colour and you use a brush to rub around them till the brush is fairly coated, you then apply the bronzer to places that would naturally catch the sun i.e. nose, cheeks and forehead. I can confirm that the darker shade is no good for me whatsoever; in fact an umpa lumpa didn't have a thing on my face.

I brushed this off as being something I just wouldn't wear and considering I don't use bronzer much I just couldn't warrant paying a tenner to try the lighter version. A few months after my mam told me she had a few make-up items that I could have if I wanted coz she didn't like or use them anymore so I went to have a look, she pulled out the Arabian glow bronzing pearls and said you can have those they are too dark for me which I replied I've already tried these and they are too dark. I removed the lid to see that these were actually the lighter coloured pearls so I took them to try.

The lighter colour is a lot better than the dark and although I still feel it is a bit heavy and it certainly doesn't look as natural as I had imagined. I only used a small amount of this product at each time and I must admit it did look more sun-kissed and natural the less you use. After using nearly every day for 2 weeks I started noticing that my skin didn't feel so good and I started getting a fair few spots and they were a decent size too and quite sore. I never normally get spots and I always remove my make-up so I just put it down to stress at the time.

I later found out that it seemed to be the pearls that weren't agreeing with my skin. After i stopped using the product my skin immediately got better. Maybe there's something in that doesn't agree with me. Overall I couldn't warrant paying a tenner for this product and the shades you receive are a lot darker in real life than they are in the book. With only 2 shades available it can be hard to get one to suit you.

Summary: I wont be buying this one again as it is far to highly priced for the quality
