Background

These have to be my favourite Avon product; I was never really into wearing make up until I found these. I was actually unable or was not supposed to wear them up until after my treatment and ended up spending more time playing video games and reading comic books as opposed to playing with Barbie's and wearing make-up, so these were a nice thing to get started with. I have always liked art and bold colouring so I think this product was right up my street.

Design

The product has either been available in strong individual pencils or double ended pencils with two corresponding colours. I own quite a variety of them being a young thing and dressing up to go out and in costume/cosplay to video game and anime conventions. I think they are much more convenient to use on the go than their powder alternative which can just about crumble and get anywhere.

They come in a long black slim box with white silvery writing describing the product and shade, each side has a little lid which can easily be popped on or off which saves you bag getting messed up also which is very convenient.

They initially came in a variety of colours which I have the majority of for instance mint/ice, purple/lavender and brown/gold; I also have an individual turquoise mini one which I also love. There are new shades out now and they seem to have taken the old ones off the market now which I think is a bit of a shame. The new colours include moonshine/starry night, Chocolate/cream and pink/royal velvet (pretty similar to the purple one I have).

Personal experience

Their durability is quite impressive as well There have been times when I have been in costume and sweating pretty heavily and the makeup stayed on, I think I use it an alternative way than the brochure recommends it however, I actually blend the two colours on the top of my eyelid and don't bother doing the under highlight. These are also very useful in that they are not subtle and more shocking than any other eye make-up I have seen which is especially useful as I need it to stand out and grab people's attention at conventions. I also really liked the texture of these, they are creamier than any make up I have ever used and don't dry out my skin as much as any of the powder varieties either. They also seem to last a really long time, I won't have to buy any more for over a year probably.

Price

Their top value for the double ended variety of this product is £8 which I think is pretty reasonable but more often than not it goes for around £4.50 and since Avon prices fluctuate so often I would never think of getting them for their full price.

You can get these through your local Avon representative or online at the Avon UK website. Though I think buying them through the brochure always seems to work out cheaper for some reason and it's nice to keep work local too and help out your neighbours.

Summary: The only eye make-up I will ever need
