I like Avonproducts and have been buying them for many years as I always find them to be good quality and suitable for my skin. I bought this Avon lip gloss for just £2 from my local Avon lady which is a great price as they are usually around £4.
The colour of my lip gloss is quite a bright orange colour but it looks quite subtle when you are wearing it and it also looks quite pearly and shiny. The tube is 13ml and it is half clear and half black so you can see the exact colour and also how much is left. There is an orange screw top which is as wide as the tube so it is plenty big enough to open and close and the top of the lid is flat so you can stand it up on the lid. There is no applicator but there is the usual slanted end which mimics the shape of most lipsticks and which makes it easy to apply.
To apply I will squeeze the tube until I can see a blob of the gloss and then apply it to my lips. As I don’t like to wear too much make up I often only have to apply it to my bottom lip and then rub my lips together gently so that it spreads to my top lip, but if I am going out I will apply it on both lips and take a bit more time. It does smell quite sweet and it tastes pleasant if you lick your lips.
I would describe the consistency as quite thick but it does spread out evenly and I find that it dries very quickly. I would say that it lasts on my lips for at least a couple of hours but obviously if I am eating or drinking it would need re-applying sooner. Although it looks quite pearly in the tube it does dry quite matte which I like as it looks more natural than the really shiny glosses.
This is a lovely quality lip glos which goes on easily and stays on my lips, so I do recommend it and would recommend it to others.
I don't wear make up for work and as I work 5 days a week it means that the majority of my time I don't wear it however my lips do get dry so I either use a lip balm or if I feel I want a little pick me up I will slick on a bit of lip gloss.
I bought this lip gloss as it was on offer as with just about everything I buy from Avon, the product is only available from Avon either direct from the website of from one of their representatives.
The products was available in many colours and there was always a shade chart in the book for you to see clearly each colour side by side to pick which would be best for you, I haven't seen this product in the book recently so am not sure if you can still buy it or not as sometimes things do reappear in the Avon books after being missing a while.
I chose a very pale pink for my lip gloss just so that there was a hint of colour on my lips but I didn't want it to look too bright as I think that would look a bit wrong when not wearing any other make up.
The product is packaged in a soft plastic tube so that you can squeeze the product out, the name of the company and the product is on the front of the tube but that is all the information you get. The product comes out of the tube with a very gentle squeeze so you must be careful not too squeeze too hard otherwise you will end up wasting more than you use although as there becomes less product in the tube it does require a harder squeeze.
The end of the tube is slanted to make a really easy to apply the product onto your lips and it comes out at the perfect thickness to cover the lips without smudging outside your lip line. The product is really shiny and makes my lips feel lovely and moist however I found it to be a little bit sticky too which I find annoying, the effects are not so bad that I won't use it up but I won't be buying anymore once it is finished. 4 stars, nice but sticky.
As my mum is now an avon rep, I have the joys of looking through the clearance section because sometimes I can get some good products for about half the price.
Recently I had run out of my nivea caregloss and shine and because it was about £3 and ran out so quickly I looked to avon for something similar that might last a bit longer. I found this lipgloss for a great price of 75p down from £5 but beggars can't be choosers so only the shade 'gleaming coral' was left. I thought it would be a shade I might choose so I went ahead and ordered 2.
They arrived in the smart black avon boxes that had a description and inside was quite a big tube (it contains 15ml) with a black screw lid and a slant applicator as shown- just like my old nivea. I find this easier to apply without a mirror when I am in a rush and lipgloss wands just annoy me so I preferred this.
The shade seemed a lot brighter in the clear tube that what was shown but I decided to go ahead and try it anyway. A little squeeze meant thick pink gloopy stuff came out and hesitantly I tried it on my lips. It dragged and left me with a pink shiny spot in the middle. Not very helpful. So again I wiped it off and this time tried some lipbalm underneath to help it glide a bit better and it sort of worked. Except it looked uneven as part of my lips were bright pink and shiny and the others were not.
I was not impressed at all by this sticky sticky gloss and even after I got the technique a bit better the colour was awful and I felt if I went outside I would just get bugs sticking to it and hair and in the wind which is the most annoying thing possible.
So now I am left with two tubes of sticky lipgloss which help me look like a 5 year old. I'm just glad I didn't waste any more money on them. I will stick to nivea and maybe try lancome juicy tubes next time.
Its usually so hard to find a pink lip gloss that really gives you that big lipped look. My other lip glosses in this shade of pink are always too bright and make me look like a barbie and they are too shiny like a disco ball. I noticed this one in my Avon book recently and decided to give it a go.
The brilliant shine it says it has really does look sheer rather than sparkling. I find sheer looks more grown up than sparkling lip glosses as you end up getting it everywhere with the silly glitter!
Avon has priced this at £5.00 but you can pick it up on different sites such as amazon if you do not have a local Avon rep. I would say it is fairly priced as you get quality and I would rather pay for that. Its really nice for both night or day whether its a sunny day out or even a drink with the girls its easy to pop on and theres no mess! Just make sure you do not pinch the tube too much or the brilliant shine will come out fast you only need a small amout for gorgeous lips. Overloading this colour can make it over shine so just a little dab is fine.
It comes in a small black box with Avon's logo on the front the box is very nice and looks like you have got somthing good for the price even before you have opened it. I like it if my lip glosses are packaged nice they look they the cost more!
I have been wearing this shade for about 3 months now and I love it but if your not so keen on the shade and fancy another they also do shades called
gleeming berry and gleeming coral. This pink is lighter that the look in the tube but still makes the lips look fuller.
Twist off the top and a light pinch of the tube the gloss will start coming out at the end then apply for pretty lips.
The normal brochure price for this lipgloss is normally £5 but I haven't seen it featured in the brochures for ages. This doesn't come as much of a surprise, though, as I thought this wasn't very good.
It comes in a squeezy tube which is quite nice. You can see what it looks like from the picture. Its an OK design but I suppose it just looks quite average compared to some and there are definitely some more unique looking glosses out there.
This is supposed to give you lots of shine on your lips. It is quite shiny but its not exactly dazzling. The shade I have is a berry shade which is quite bold but after drinking, eating etc it comes off quite easily and you have to re apply about twice in an hour so as you can image the tube doesn't last that long.
I wouldn't recommend this simply because there are so much better lipglosses out there and newer ranges such as Glazewear lipgloss from Avon are a better competition than this one.
I love lipglosses so decided to give this avon own brand a try.
My auntie is a rep for avon and occasionally gives me a book so I try to give her custom as much as possible, otherwise I probably wouldnt have picked this one.
The one I bought was Gleaming pink and it cost me £6. It comes in a long tube which is thinner at the bottom than at the top, and is clear so you can see the gloss inside. It has a black lid which screws on top and as the gloss tube is squeezed, it is released through the end of the tube. The applicator is shaped in a slant and has a hole to let the gloss out. The tube has some white stars on the tube to give a sparkly girly look.
The gloss is more of a matt colour than clear. It has a definite block colour to it instead of being a pinky sheen. The colour is a lovely natural colour, but doesnt last long and is not very glossy atall. Think of paint, Vinyl Silk is glossy and shiny looking, matt is a dull no shine colour. This is what this is like a bit - matt.
On opening the gloss it smells minty and feels a bit minty on the lips.
Overall, I don't think it's worth the money, it doesnt stay on lips long, is too gloopy and not very glossy atall.
I would reccomend lancome juicy tubes. Although they are pricier, they stay on for a good while and have a proper high shine gloss.
I have been using Lanacombe Juicy Tubes for ages but they are too expensive now so I have been looking for cheaper lip glosses that do the same thing.
This Brilliant Shine lip gloss is £5 in Avon and I brought a tube in Gleaming Coral because that is the shade closest to the Juicy Tubes one I would use.
I think its a very sticky lip gloss and I don't like the feel of it on my lips because its very heavy and not a very nice texture.
It applies nice because the applicator end of the tube is angled to touch my lips just right and the thick lip gloss smooths across my lips easily without smudging or smearing.
The colour is not as nice as its shown in the Avon book and I think it looks very washed out and that is funny because this sort of Coral usually suits me because I am quite pale.
The shine isn't very good either. Its obvious I am wearing lip gloss but it's not as strong as I would like and just looks like I'm wearing a shiny lipstick and that is not the results I am looking for when I am using lip gloss.
It feels very heavy on my lips all day and even though it stays on for ages I wish it wouldn't because it makes my lips feel weighed down and like I have put too much on. Even though it looks OK I still feel a bit para when I'm wearing it cos I feel a bit like someone who cant put make up on when I am really quite good at it.
The book said there are invisible blue pearls in the lip gloss to make it such good shine but if they are invisible how are they going to make the gloss any better. The shines rubbish anyway so I don't know what Avon are on about when they say that.
It costs £5.00 but isn't worth it and I won't be buying it again.
