I brought this on offer from the Avon catalogue for £4.00 but it retails at £6.00 normally.

I love the look for a French Manicure with nice white tips on my nails and a soft pick base, but this caught my eye and I thought it was a great slant on the French Manicure. You can buy this varnish set in four different colours and I chose Amazing Amethyst.

The idea is to paint your entire nail with the base coat, and in my instance the colours I chose gave me a gorgeous chocolaty brown colour that wasn't too dark. Then with the second bottle you paint over whichever portion of the nail you wish to become a different colour. I did my toes with this and I painted a straight line across the ends of the toe nails. The portion I painted with the second bottle turned a deep mahogany brown colour and looked amazing next to the chocolate brown already painted on.

I was really impressed with the colour changing aspect of this set and it was really easy to apply. As it was on my toes it doesn't seem to be too loud and I am pleased to show off my toes in sandals with this varnish on.

It has lasted for ages as well without chipping, although toes do tend to last longer than fingers anyway but it was on for 3 weeks before it started to look tatty and needed reapplying.
