Advantages: This is easy to use, lasts quite well and leaves a lovely finish on your nails

Disadvantages: It needs removing after a few days but lasts well during those few days

One of Avon's latest innovations is their Transforming Nail Colour range. As a representative I decided I should try this out when it was first released as I could see a lot of my customers being interested in it. I decided to try out the Racy Reds combination as that was the colour I felt would suit me the best and was quite pleased with the results.

To use this product you paint the base colour over the whole of your nail and leave it to dry. You can then use the transforming top coat to add depth. The brochure recommends using the complimentary top coat to paint your nails in the style of a French manicure and this is certainly one of the best ways to use it. What's great about using this product over simply purchasing two different shades is that there is no layered effect when you've finished. The transforming coat can be applied very thinly and will leave a big, deep finish but there is no obvious sign on your nails that two colours have been applied. It also takes the guess work out of which colours will compliment each other.

The other good way to use this transforming polish is to add designs to your nails. My daughter and I had some fun with this one rainy afternoon! The brushes aren't overly delicate but they are small enough to add a little detail with including spots, stripes and even little hearts.

This nail polish lasts as well as any other Avon nail polish I have used. I tend to find that it is excellent for a day at work or for a night out but that it needs touching up or completely removing after a couple of days wear. I am pleased to find it chips rather than peels which to me is a sign of a decent nail polish. That is not to profess it is the best you can buy but it is very good for the price it costs.

This product is presently available in French Twist, a pale and deep peachy pink, Amazing Amethyst, a deep and deeper purple, and Racy Reds, a pinkish red with a deep red on top. It costs just £6 for two 12ml bottles and better still you can buy two sets for £7 in brochure 14 or via the Avon website. That works out at just £3.50 per set which is an offer not to be missed.

Summary: A recommended new nail colour innovation from Avon.
