      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      I have thrown mine away.

Avon Colortrend Mini Eye Liner is possibly the smallest item of make up I think I have ever seen. It is a matter of centimetres long and looks like a child's miniature crayon that might have come out of a Christmas cracker! I ordered one of these out of interest for 75p although the customer price at present is actually £1.50, and the recommended retail price is £2.50.

I know from experience that Colortrend products are small, that is partly how Avon manage to keep the prices of this range of products so low. I did not expect it to be quite so tiny though, and I also did not expect the cheap blue plastic outter that it comes in as that's what makes it look like a children's toy.

This miniature eyeliner comes in a choice of three shades: Onxy (sparkly black), Copper or Sky (navy blue). I ordered mine in copper and was very disappointed to find that it barely showed up on my eye rim at all. Perhaps this is one of those eye products that only has any real effect when drawn under the eye as it does show up a little better there.

I do not think there is a lot more to say about this product. It's probably a cute novelty item for a very young girl. She could keep it in her pencil case at school and it would not look like she was wearing any make up at all when she had this on! It is not for those who are looking to purchase serious make up items though. Go for the full size Colortrend Pencil Play liners instead, they're almost the same price but four times longer and ten times better!

        Tiny eyeliner!

I bought this Mini Eyeliner a couple of weeks ago from the Avon Color Trend range, primarily because it was on sale and was reduced to £1.00. It looks as though this was because they were clearing out old stock, as it is not available in the current brochure, however Avon stock tends to change frequently and products often reappear, so I would imagine it will be back one of these days. You can probably also find one of these on Ebay if you are so inclined.

Color Trend is a relatively cheap range of make-up from Avon and some of it seems to be aimed at teenagers or younger women, due to the bright, chunky packaging and frosted/glittery/immature colours. However there's nothing particularly immature about this eyeliner.

The eyeliner comes in three shades: black, onyx (grey) and copper. I have the copper and it is quite a nice medium brown colour.

The eyeliner comes in a little cardboard box. Inside is the tiniest eyeliner I have ever seen! It is incredibly thin and just a bit larger than a toothpick! The benefit of this is that it will fit into any size make-up bag, but there is a definite downside too, in that you don't get much product for your money.

It is a twist-up pencil style eyeliner with a soft-ish crayon-like tip, but you can't twist it up very far as there is hardly any in there! As soon as I applied it I saw it had reduced in size as well so I can't imagine it will last very long. I would think with regular everyday use it wouldn't last longer than a month.

The liner goes on quite thin and a bit patchy. The colour isn't very strong, but if you go over it a few times then the colour deepens and looks much better. This isn't for anyone who is looking for a thick, deep, Kohl-style line though.

Surprisingly it has very good staying power. Normally when I apply eyeliner it has smudged, run or disappeared by the end of the evening, but this stays where I put it and doesn't budge at all, even if I'm active. It looks almost as good at the end of the night as at the beginning, so that's a big plus.

I would buy this again, but I wouldn't pay more than £1 for it due to its small size. I think the regular price was around £3 and this is far too expensive for such a tiny product.
