“ Brand: Avon / Type: Lipgloss / Suitable for: Lip „
I would genuinely have thought this was a novelty make up item had it not been for the bizarre price tag.
I bought this as a small extra gift for my daughters birthday, she has a mobile phone and thought this would be a welcomed extra to go with it. She has a charm that lights up when a call or text is about to come though, so I thought a small charm to go with it would be good, and what better than some lip gloss. My daughter is a lover of lip gloss and wears it more than me....that is saying a lot!!
After paying £2.50 for this, when it turned up I searched the package for the actual lip-gloss before realising that the thing before me wasn't a joke. Yes it was a lip gloss; yes it was a small one but seriously that small!!! I know it can't be that big if it is to attach to a mobile phone but I was not expecting the minuscule item that actually turned up.
Amazingly the gloss itself is actually ok, it is shiny and is a nude colour. Unfortunately you could never get used to how nice it is because it is way too small to actually hold anywhere near enough to use it regularly. The brush is also ok as an applicator but due to the size of the holder, there is more brush that gloss. I don't think this should be sold as an actual product; it should merely be a novelty item and should be priced as such. The price is way too expensive for what it is, it would be cheaper to buy a normal lip gloss and tape it to your mobile phone and use that, it would be the same price and you would get more lip gloss in it.
If I knew it would be that small I wouldnt have bothered.
I bought one of these for £1.25 when they were on a half price offer in the Avon brochure.
I can't remember which shade I bought as I bought this AGES ago, we're talking years ago! I used to clip the lipgloss onto my mobile phone and swing it around thinking I looked cool! I just remember that it was a light pinky shade, quite young and girly. The gloss comes in a SMALL tube with a white furry applicator that you use to pick up the gloss and apply it to your lips. I was surprised at how small the gloss was, literally it's a "blink and you'll miss it" product! It was less than an inch tall!
The applicator is horrible! It's furry and it feels like you're applying the gloss with a rodent! The gloss tasted nice, I remember it having a sort of sweet vanilla taste to it. The gloss lasted me around a week before it ran out as there was a few drops inside the tube and that was it! You can't refill the tube either so I just kept it swinging on my phone until I got bored of it!
The gloss was nice, I just wanted more of it! It left a lovely shine on my lips and it was really creamy and moisturising. It wasn't sticky and it felt lovely when it was applied to sore lips as it helped to coat and protect them from the elements. The colour was also long lasting and it never left my lips feeling irritated.
The small amount of gloss really wasn't worth the £2.50 price tag!
I received this product for free when it first came to Avon, in a 'buy any colortrend product, and get it free'. So it was free, i didn't really choose to buy it.
I chose 'Peach' which is a pinkish colour. I was expecting, as the other reviewer said, a miniture lipgloss maybe the size of a perfume sample. It's SO tiny. Probably too small. It crossed the border of practicality and it's a little pathetic.
The colour pay off is non existant. It doesn't taste very nice, it's unpleasant to the point of actually having to take it off.
I tried to put it on my phone, just to see and the chord is too long. I know it has to be that long in order to loop it onto the phone but it makes texting extremely difficult as it wobbles and catches the back of the phone.
I think full price these are £2.50, which is ridiculous when you see the prices of full size lipglosses in the colortrend range. I certainly would not pay full price for it.
Maybe it would be good for a young girl, just as more of an accessory than a cosmetic product.
The new Mini Mobile Lip Glosses from Avon's Color Trend range are a really good idea. I have seen similar from Bourjois Paris in the shops and thought they were really sweet then. The idea is that you can attach your tiny lip gloss to your mobile so you never lose it when you are out. Ideal for youngsters I think. When you wear lip gloss, it has a habit of coming of and needing re-application every couple of hours so whether you take a tiny one on your mobile or a big one in your purse, you are probably going to take one if you wear it for a night out.
When I got my demonstration lip gloss I was surprised by just how small this is. I expected a miniature, but this is truly tiny! There is only enough lip gloss in here to last for around ten applications which in my opinion is not great for those who go out several nights a week.
The brush is really good, it's as big as it could be inside the small bottle and nice and thick too. The only problem with this is that it takes up most of the bottle leaving very little space for any actual lip gloss.
At £2.50 each, I think these are overpriced. I think Avon could have sold these for a lot less and cashed in on the novelty value. These are a novelty afterall rather than a practical purchase. Yes you could use these for emergency reapplications on the go but there is just not sufficient gloss in here for regular use.
If you are interested in these, they come in three shades including a deep red, a nude pink and a pale brown. See the Avon brochure or website for further information.
