~*~*~ Avon Color Trend Nail Colour ~*~*~
~ What is it? ~
These are nail varnishes from the Colour Trend range by Argos, there are a few different shades available as well as different ranges within the whole range.
~ Why I bought it ~
I bought this particular nail varnish quite some time ago, I would estimate that it was sometime in the summer but I have only recently found it after it was put in a box in a drawer in my utility room. I bought it because it was on some sort of offer which is quite a regular occurance with Avon. I am not sure how much I paid for it but I am guessing it was a decent offer as they usually retail for £3.00 for an 8ml bottle.
I chose the Lovely Lilac colour as this was a colour I didn't have in my nail varnish collection.
~ Using it ~
I use this in the same way I do any other nail varnish and simply paint it onto my nails in two coats. The bottle is small and round, the lid is also a thin short rounded lid which also houses the applicator brush. I find with the lid being so dainty makes this quite uncomfortable to use. I prefer a chunkier brush as this makes it easier to apply the nail varnish to my nails. The smaller brush seems to make it a bit more fiddly for me.
I have only used this once and I have to say I wasn't completely taken with the results. I applied one thinner coat waited for this to dry completely and then applied a second coat, whilst this did give god coverage I didn't like the colour much. The Lovely Lilac shade has a sheen to it and this isn't really something I like, I prefer a more solid colour block without the frosted look but I left it on as my nails were painted and I couldn't be bothered to re-do them!
~ My Thoughts ~
After deciding to leave the varnish on my nails I carried on my day as usual and got on with the usual stuff, playing with the baby, changing the baby, cleaning, cooking, cleaning, playing with the kids, more cleaning etc...!
By the end of the day I noticed that daily life had really taken it's toll on my nails and the colour had suffered somewhat. The edges of most of my nails were chipped and they just looked really scruffy to be honest. I took it off with nail varnish remover and it came off easily enough which was a plus!
Even at the low offer prices this is a nail varnish I have avoided buying since, I have bought the three colours in the Dazzlers range however and I have been more than impressed with these.
I don't particularly like the Color Trend Nails colours but other nail products in the range do fair better so I wouldn't avoid them all, I think it's all down to personal preference anyway but I wouldn't recommend these anyway.
Being an Avon product they are only available from Avon and you can get these through a local rep or online at www. avonshop.co.uk.
I have also seen some of the Color Trend varnishes available on ebay.
Thanks for reading :o) x
Summary: A not so good nail varnish from Avon's Color Trend range.
