~Pencil Play Eyeliner~
This eyeliner is from the Color Trend cosmetic range that Avon offer. This range is mainly aimed at younger make up wearers.
Pencil Play Eyeliner is offered in five shades : Midnight Blue, White, Dark Brown, Turquoise and Black. Avon claim that this eyeliner will 'line and define your peepers without pulling or dragging'. This eyeliner is presented in the form of a pencil which needs to be sharpened. The pencil is complete with a clear lid. It is recommended that you replace your eyeliners every 6 months for hygeine reasons.
~Price and Availability~
This eyeliner is available from www.avonshop.co.uk and from the Avon brochure. The full price is £3.00 but Color Trend products are often on some kind of offer. The current deal is '2 for £4.00' across the range.
Eyeliner is a must for me as I love to shape my eyes as I feel they are my best feature. Over the past few years I have owned lots of eyeliners (as I replace them within the 6 month guideline) and whilst my favourites are No7, Clarins and Lancome, I often return to the Color Trend Pencil Play Eyeliner. It is an affordable price at £3.00 but I normally buy during an offer promotion and save myself a little bit of extra money.
I have been using this eyeliner on and off since I was a teenager. The design is simple and functional just like most other eyeliners I have used. I find the pencil to be of the right thickness and length to comfortably hold during application. I think over the years I have tried each of the shades on offer except turquoise (as that really isn't me). I switched between black and white mainly as a teenager. I liked the white for using during the Summer during the day as it really brightened my eye area up and looked fresh - a completely different look compared to darker colours but not one which I opt for now I am in my mid 20s.
The last time I purchased this eyeliner was earlier in the year when I needed a cheap but trustworthy eyeliner to replace my Lancome eyeliner. I have recently replaced this Color Trend one with a brand new No7 eyeliner but will be repurchasing this one again soon. The black shade is my favourite as I prefer to use black eyeliner and black mascara. This allows me to be a bit more adventurous and have more choice over my choice of eyeshadow colour as well, everything goes with black!
This eyeliner is very easy to apply. The tip of the pencil is quite sharp at first and I personally choose to flatten it very slightly to avoid the tickly feeling a sharp pencil causes! The pencil itself is beautifully creamy and moist. It glides along my waterline very smoothly and doesn't drag or crumble. This eyeliner is quite pigmented and two sweeps across my waterline results in a strong, fairly thick black line which is quite a deep, black shade. I don't need to apply a lot to create the desired insensity of black that I prefer. This eyeliner feels gentle and light on my waterline - I have experienced no form of irritation from using this and I have quite sensitive eyes.
I appreciate the way this eyeliner frames my eyes. The black colour is intense and rich so looks really good. I find that this eyeliner lasts well on my waterline but isn't exactly waterproof. It doesn't last as long as premium branded eyeliners in my opinion but I don't feel the need to top up the colour too often. It looks strong for a good couple of hours before it starts to lose its intensity a little. Any remaining eyeliner is easily removed using a wipe or lotion of some kind.
Due to the creamy texture of this eyeliner, I find myself needing to sharpen it quite often so one pencil reduces in size a little quicker than the more expensive options. I like using this one as it offers a great strength of colour and frames my eyes well. I do prefer Glimmerstick that Avon offers but this is a good alternative. It can often be picked up for 99p from the Avon sales brochures and it is definitely a bargain price.
4 stars - recommended :)
This is a fine example of the better of the Color Trend products Avon produce. I have bought many of these eyeliners over the years and I love them.
Although the Color Trend brand is aimed at the younger generation, the price has me coming back to buy every time. These are currently £3 each but I do think that the pencil itself is very long and lasts as a whole pencil a very long time. Well worth paying a measly £3 for. I have only ever bought the black liner as I never really understood the need for the other colours. Blue eye liner is very 80's, white look horrible and brown is a bit of a waste I think!
Anyway, the black eye liner is a rich colour and goes on very easily. It doesn't pull the skin and is easy to apply. I use this on both my upper and lower lids, along my lash lines. The coverage is good and it goes on evenly, I had problems with another brand of eyeliner from Avon when it came to sharpening it. This one however is a dream, when sharpening the pencil; it is easy and doesn't splinter like the other one I tried. It is a great eye pencil and I think every make up bag should have one. The only one issue I have with it, is due to its length, if you only have a small make up bag it will not fit!!
This doesnt smudge, some pencils can work their way down the eye and leave you looking like a panda by the end of the night. No such problem with this, it stays where it is put!
I have almost 100 eyeliners ranging from really cheap ones to standard high street brands and I also have some more expensive branded eyeliners including MAC and Chanel.
I received the Color Trend eyeliner pencil by Avon as part of one of their gift sets, which I had asked for last Christmas. I have it in black, but it also comes in midnight blue, white, dark brown and turquoise.
It is my favourite eyeliner pencil.
I prefer to use eyeliner in wooden pencil form rather than eyeliner crayons or liquid eyeliner as I find that eyeliner pencils are pretty much the same across the board so you know what you're getting and you can be pretty sure what the texture and consistency it is going to be and what the application is going to be like.
I don't wear eyeliner regularly, but I do suit it and sometimes wear it for nights out or sometimes randomly choose to wear it during the day. I think it frames my blue eyes nicely and along with black mascara, it helps to make my eyes stand out.
~ Price and availability ~
Color Trend is a brand by Avon so this product is only available online at www.avonshop.co.uk , where it is currently on offer for just £1.50 reduced from its usual price of £3.00. It is also available from your local Avon representative where it can be ordered from the Avon brochure.
~ Packaging ~
The eyeliner is a plain black wooden pencil with the Color Trend logo in blue on the side. To be honest the lettering has scratched off my pencil since I put it in my make-up bag, which gets thrashed around a bit in my handbag. It has a clear plastic lid, which fits perfectly. It is easy to remove, but is very firm at the same time and unlike other eyeliners I have had in the past, the lid never comes loose by accident.
~ Use ~
The black colour of the eyeliner transfers really easily. You only need to touch the tip lightly around your eyes and the colour will have transferred. I tend to go over the colour a few times to build it up and make it darker and create a more effective look. Even if you apply the eyeliner with more pressure I still like to go over it until I achieve the amount of colour that I think I need.
The eyeliner is soft, but firm and the point won't easily be knocked off or changed shape.
I always have a problem with my eyeliner staying on. It always tends to slide off during my night out - either that or I am rubbing my eyes without noticing.
Even though I have stated this is my favourite eyeliner, this is no exception and I find that after a few hours it needs to be topped up or reapplied.
If I touch my eye line, while wearing this eyeliner I find that some of the colour comes off, but the eyeliner is still evident, just slightly faded.
The pencil is less than 4 inches long and less than a centimetre in diameter. I find the size really handy as it fits in all of my clutch bags and obviously my handbags as well, so it is not a problem for me to have to carry this around with me when I am out and if I lose it, it isn't the end of the world considering it is available so cheaply.
~ Overall ~
Overall I think this is a great eyeliner. It is no less effective than other eyeliners that are a lot more expensive than this one. It is cheap, effective, it has impact and it's a handy size. Although it does need reapplication after a few hours I have yet to find an eyeliner pencil that doesn't. (Anyone know one?) I would recommend this eyeliner pencil to anyone who uses eyeliner.
These eyeliners are the best eyeliners that I have ever used. They're cheap too and they're usually on some sort of offer in the Avon brochure. They come in different shades and they're full price is £2.95 (Avon prices change regularly so don't quote me on that) so they're not too expensive.
I paid 3 for £5 for my eyeliners and I bought three of the black shades. I wear black eyeliner on a daily basis as it helps to shape and frame my eyes. These do just that and they define my eyes really well too. They're also easy to apply and they don't tug or pull at your eyes. Instead they just go straight on without any problems. They have a really creamy formula that lasts a decent amount of time before needing to be topped up. The eyeliners are also a decent size and they're easy to hold and grasp too. They never seem to slip from my fingers, which is good. They sharpen really well too without splitting and/ or breaking. I would suggest using a proper make-up sharpener though.
The eyeliner can also be used to line your top eyelids, as well as your bottom ones. It can also be used to create Amy Winehouse style flicks. The liner blends well and it can be smudged for an even more dramatic effect.
The eyeliner washes off easily at the end of the day. I simply remove mine by using an ordinary make-up wipe, or a baby wipe.
I will never be without eyeliner! I wear it everyday with or without make up. I always purchase mine from avon or asda and there usually pencil. I usually buy this brand when i'm abit tight for money for about £2.00 you can't go wrong.
The white one is partically good if you want to use it to make your eyes bigger and whiter or if you want to use it as a base color for the corners of your eyes. This one is great. It glides on easy, never pulls or tugs, easy to remove if you make a mistake and when sharpening it, you only need to do it a little so it lasts a good few months and they hardly ever break only if you over sharpen i would recommend taking off the tip if too sharp because it can irritate the eye area its very sensitive so be careful. Also, for people that use contact lenses like me they never irritate or stain them.
My verdict: I would recommend this to anyone that wants to make there eyes pop no matter what color worth giving it try.
i have 2 of these avon colour trend eyeliners and i brought them for £2,75 each.
I brought the white and the turqoise shade, as i like to experiment with colours that go with my light coloured eyes
usually, i wear black eye make up, i find it defines my eyes and makes them stand out and look beautiful but i do like to experiment with other colours and brands so i brought these from avon
they are quite short for £2.75, but they are worth it! the colours are bold but also subtle in the same way, but if you applied it twice, the colour would be incredibly strong and noticable
these eyeliners work really well, they give a small line of colour, which you can make thicker if you need to. they work well underneath and on the ledge of your eye, and cause no irritation to your eye
Avon often have offers on, so you could probably get this for alot cheaper than the £2.75 that i paid for them.
id recommend this to anyone who likes to experiement with the colours around their eyes. this eyeliner is easy to apply and doesnt pull on the skin so it gives a smooth line.
This is the best eyeliner I have ever come across, I dont know where to start! I have been using this eyeliner for over 10 years, and my mum has been using it for a lot longer! EVERYONE I know who buy Avon products, wear this eyeliner, even those who don't regularly shop with Avon have it! This eyeliner (black) is dark and long lasting! I have heard many people complain that their eyeliner fades or comes off, and they have ti re-apply it half way through a night, however I have never had to do this. In fact I have gone to bed with it on sometimes (naughty i know) and woken u the next day with it still there! It's a miracle how it stays on, but somehow it does. It is easy to apply and can easily be removed with face wipes, make-up remover or a face cloth. This can be seen as a disadvantage as it doesn;t just come off with water and soap, it needs to be washed off propery, but i think its brilliant as it's really hard to find make up which applies well and stays all day! The best eye-liner ever, beats any in my opinion!
AVON COLORTREND PENCIL PLAY EYELINER
This is a review about an eyeliner I own, from the Colortrend range by Avon. It is a range that is designed to offer quality products but at lower prices than some of the other items that you are able to get from the other Avon ranges.
This eyeliner is only £2.75 from Avon which I think is really cheap and I think it is worth trying just because of how low the price is.
As it is from Avon this means you can either order it from your representative if you have one, or if you don't then you can order it online from the Avon website, avonshop.co.uk.
There are five different colours you can get this in, which are:
I have this in turquoise, the reason I chose the shade is because I wanted to try something new. I had never tried a turqoise eyeliner before and as bright colours were in fashion at the time of my order I decided to go for it.
I think this is rather good considering how cheap it costed me, and I really am glad that I bought it. I'm surprised by the quality actually. It feels really soft and glides on smoothly and leaves a nice, lasting colour which stays on all day. It's also really easy to take off, just with either a bit of make up remover, or with a make up wipe, or even just by washing your face with face wash and water. It can smudge if you're out swimming or its raining heavily but if you were going to find yourself in one of these situations you would probably have chosen something waterproof anyway.
Overall I definitely recommend this eyeliner, for such a low price it is definitely worth trying. It is just as good as the glimmerstix eyeliner from Avon so what I think is why pay more?
As I have already said in other reviews, I love the Avon range and buy out of it monthy, this is partly because I like to treat myself at the end of the month and also partly because I have a Avon Representative who also happens to be my mother in law.
I decided to try the Avon Color Trend Pencil Play Eyeliner because it was on offer at the time, 3 colour trend products for 5er, since then I like to keep one of these eyeliners in the drawer and use it day to day.
However I prefere to use the Avon Glimmerstick when I am going on a night out as it has more staypower thought it costs 5er, which is double the price of the Avon Color Trend Pencil Play Eyeliner.
This is a great every day pencil, it is easy to apply and doesnt smudge down your face if you dont rub round your eyes during the day.
This eyeliner comes in 5 different shades, black, white, turtoise, dark brown and also green.
At the moment coming up to Christmas this eyeline costs 2.50 along with all the other colour trend items, which gives a 25p saving to its normal price of 2.75. I reccommend Avon Color Trend Pencil Play Eyeliner as an everyday eyeliner as it is great value and gives great results.
I wear eyeliner almost every time I leave the house so it is an essential part of my make-up routine. However I don't really have a favourite or one brand that I am loyal to as I have yet to find one which goes on nicely, looks good and doesn't smudge or flake off during the day. Therefore I'm always open to trying new ones, and when I saw these Pencil Play eyeliners on offer at Avon, I decided to buy one.
The Pencil Play eyeliners are part of Avon's Color Trend make-up range, which is a range seemingly aimed at teenagers, with slightly cheaper prices than the usual Avon make-up.
The eyeliner pencils cost £2.75 each but I got mine for around £1.35. They are often on offer and at the moment there is a 3 for £5 promotion on all Color Trend items. They are available either online at the Avon website or from your local Avon representative if you are lucky enough to have one.
Avon describes the eyeliners as having a 'Creamy-smooth formula means there's no pulling or dragging on your skin'.
The eyeliners come in five different shades: black, brown, white, turquoise and dark green. I chose brown as it is the colour that I wear most often and it doesn't look as harsh as black does on my skin.
The eyeliner looks quite simple with a dark body and a small plastic lid to prevent the nib getting crushed in your make-up bag. It is probably slightly smaller than your average eye pencil.
I find the eyeliner goes on quite smoothly and it is easy to get a thin-ish line or a thicker one depending on how hard you press. If you want a very thin, precise line you might want a harder pencil though. When it's on it looks good and even and has a nice depth of colour.
The eyeliner has around average staying power. Without make-up fixant it quickly smudges but if I add clear mascara over it then it stays in place for a few hours which is good.
This is an acceptable eyeliner and I might buy it again if I don't discover something better, however it's nothing to get excited about.
I don't know about the rest of the colours in these Pencil Play Eyeliners but the white one is the best I have used and I have been trying to find a good white eyeliner for ages and have tried loads of them.
I use the white colour under my bottom eyelashes and that makes my eyes look bigger and the whites of my eyes look clearer when I have used this colour.
White might sound a funny colour for an eyeliner but it does work if you can spend time applying it tidily and then smudging it in with a tiny thin line of black.
This one is brill. It goes on creamy and doesn't drag the skin round my eyes and I like it that the pencil provides just the right amount of white colour with each stroke so I don't have to spoil my tidy line by going over it again to build the colour up.
This eyeliner lasts real good as well and that suprised me because whites usually fade a lot quicker than other colour eyeliners when you wear them all day. This one still looks as good hours after i have applied it and is very easy to touch up when it does start fading.
I like how smooth this pencil is because if I use an eyeliner that drags the skin round my eyes I get red blotches under my eyes and it looks terrible but that didn't happen at all with this eyeliner and it was very easy to remove as well.
There are another 4 or 5 colours in this range but I haven't tried any of the others. They cost £2.75 each but are usually on offer with the rest of the Color Trend make up and there are some proper good savings that way.
I am not really a fan of the Avon colour trend range, simply because I feel the makeup is intended for teens. It is cheaper that the other Avon make-up and has lots of brightly coloured items as well as phone charm lip glosses and so on. In my recent Avon brochure I noticed that the pencil play eyeliner was reduced to £1.35, if it had of been any more I wouldn't have ordered it considering it is from the colour trend range however, at £1.35 I thought I might aswell give this a go.
I really like the idea of white eyeliners as if used under the eye area they can create a more open whiter eye appearance. I tend to use mine on the lower lash line with a small line of black eyeliner underneath it to create some depth.
The pencil play eyeliner arrived in a black and blue basic box which displayed the colour trend logo. It wasn't very fancy of funky but I suppose it's the product inside that counts.
The pencil itself is also very basic and appears and feels quite cheap. I feel you have to be quite careful with it to avoid snapping and breaking. The eyeliner is ok, it's a bit harder than ones I have used before as they seem to have a softer tip which makes applying easier to avoid dragging. This tip is rather hard meaning that I few goings over are needed to create the look. I also noticed that I had to press fairly hard which meant that the pencil tip snapped a little too.
Once applied the eyeliner does look very nice. The colour is pure white and gives a fresh appearance around the eye area. I only applied this once per day with using so many other eye colours it is too hard for me to touch up, that's why I need a product that will be long lasting. Unfortunately at the end of the day I can only see the bits of white on the corners of my eyes as it has disappeared everywhere else.
Overall this product is ok for the price. It is designed for teenage girls and I would say it is worth a buy if you are on a budget. This isn't something I would buy again as it felt too subtle for me and didn't last the distance of a full day. If you like a more subtle appearance and are able to re-apply through the day then give this a go. It is tricky to apply but once on it does look good.
I bought this eyepencil a few months ago. I purchased it in 'Turquoise'.
The colour is absolutely beautiful. Sadly it was quite an impulsive buy and i don't use it much as i prefer to use black eyeliner. However that isn't the products fault. It's actually a lovely pencil.
The colour lasts for quite a while, longer than i expected. It's bright and creamy and it's so easy to apply. It's very cheap, the price is quite good, as alot of the color trend products are.
The packaging is really basic, which is fine as you don't really want anything too flash.
I'd really like to try the pencil in black and I definitely will be doing so when my current black eye pencil is used up.
The only downside is, in the brochure, the turquoise looks alot brighter than it is on the eye. In the brochure it looks very vibrant and bright, but when on the eye it's quite a pastel blue/green. It's pretty nevertheless.
Pencil Play Eyeliners from Avon's Color Trend range are ideal for when you want a special colour for a specific occasion but do not wish to break the bank. These eyeliners cost £2.50 each and are part of brochure 18's three for £5 offer which is regularly repeated throughout the year.
They come in Black, White, Green, Turquoise and Dark Brown at present though do look out for new colours early next year.
These eyeliners are very easy to blend which is why I like them so much. For example I can use the white eyeliner under my eyes in a thin line to open them up and then the dark brown on the rims for a special effect. My favourite in this range is the green pencil as it is very deep, strong and bold.
This is not the best eyeliner I have ever used but it is certainly the best £2.50 eyeliner I have ever come across! It is easy to use, it lasts for a long time and it is suitable for blending. This is a great value product that I recommend to others.
Creamy formula allows for smooth application without pulling /
