Advantages: Cheap and is a long lasting economical product.
Disadvantages: Not that brilliant.
One thing I do use alot is concealer, it's a main stay in my oversized makeup bag! Unfortunately as time is ticking by on my face not only am I still suffering with the same old spots that have been the bug bear of my life but along come the 'fine lines' (more like huge creases!).
So when my Avon Catalogue popped through the door and this was part of an offer of buy two Color Trend products for £4.00 I thought I'd give it a whirl as I hate to disappoint my rep, Anita who comes whether it's pouring of rain or 15 inches of snow. I feel guilt and always place an order with her!
The Packaging....
Black tube like a lipstick with Color Trend written on the side and a pattern in pink with a clear safety cap that goes over and slides on securely. The product twists up and down.
Using It....
Well I purely bought mine as a cover up stick which is what it's soul purpose is for. Firstly may I just say that I think that the packaging is a bit cheap and young looking. I'm sure this is designed with very young people in mind (I'm 33) and although I know this is cheap for what it is I'd rather have a little less product or a higher price cos even youngsters now like nice packaging!
The product though is easy to use. It twists up and down easy and the end is slightly slanted for ease of use. The product is like a hardened cream and quite solid to use unlike some I've used in the past and the product 'snaps' off this doesn't it's quite robust.
Applying it is easy. Just don't be too heavy handed or you end up with bits breaking off onto your face and you have too much on and it's too thick to work with. I use this on spots in the main as it's useless on fine lines and wrinkles and works best over blemishes and red patches.
Broken capillaries, spider veins, birth marks. No. Great big puss filled zits. No. This is only for very light marks and slight red patches.
A light touch is all you need under foundation. It's not quite sheer upon application but isn't thick either and I find I do need to gently smudge it with a sponge or finger or whatever just to make sure its blended.
When this is done I apply my foundation over the top and continue with my work to transform me from Audrey Roberts to Kylie Minogue.
Results...
It's ok. I give it, it's due and will say that it doesn't aggravate my sensitive skin. It doesn't smell of anything, isn't particularly oily and therefore doesn't 'feed' my spots and doesn't dry my skin out. Skin doesn't feel heavy with this on, you can't feel it. It doesn't highlight the problems more. However it doesn't make spots dissapear magically. It calms them down somewhat. It mainly takes some of the colour out of them but if they were 3d before applying this product...they still will be!
This isn't a treatment and doesn't help fight spots or problems it's simply a cover up for the time its on. It does help to conceal a spot and providing you use decent make up over the top it stays put and does it's job till removal. When you want to remove make up this is just the same amount of work to remove as the rest of the make up you want to take off!
It's an ok product. There is much, much better out there but this at it's usual price of £2.50 is far cheaper (and this is usually on offer). I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it, really if I wasn't writing about it I wouldn't speak of it lol Personally I'd rather pay a bit more but for kids with pocket money it's ok.
Only available from Avon and comes in two colours which are light and medium.
Summary: Ok on a budget.
