      Advantages

      Disadvantages

I'm sure this eyeliner will be a hit with some people, unfortunately it's not for me

I'm not good at applying eyeliner; my lips are the feature I like to accentuate so have never really bothered to learn the art of applying eye make-up other than basic eyeshadow and mascara simply because I'm a firm believer in heavy eyes or lips, never both, and as I generally wear bright red lipstick my eyes tend to be neglected. I get on well with glittery or gel eyeliners as I find them much easier to use than pencils, but last week I received a gorgeous blue-grey eyeshadow in the post as a freebie which really needs finishing off with a sweep of eyeliner to complete my make-up. I didn't have a suitable colour myself so raided my sixteen year olds make-up bag and came up with this double ended eyeliner pencil - one end named Pitch Black and the other end (the end I was interested in) being Midnight Blue.

I've been reasonably impressed after using it alongside my funky new eyeshadow for the best part of a week, an immediate irritation being that the coloured pencil 'lead' is quite hard and drags my skin ridiculously when I first start to use it. This is regardless of whether it's freshly sharpened or allowed to go blunt, the colour comes through nicely but I can't stand the feel of the pencil pulling my skin and I find it really awkward to get a neat line first time and always have to go over it again - which leads to me spending much more time on my eyeliner than I'd like, and although I'm usually pretty happy with the result I really haven't got a spare five minutes in the morning to compensate for a badly developed pencil!

The colours are good. Pitch Black isn't particularly dark and is no more black than any other pencil eyeliner I've used, it's possible to build up the colour but this takes time and I always find (being a bit of an eyeliner novice) that the more I faff with it the more chance there is I'm going to make a mistake and have to go to the bother of starting over again. I'm happy with Midnight Blue as it's just the shade I was after to compliment my new eyeshadow; it's a deep blue which only actually looks like anything other than black in certain lighting, it's not bright by any stretch of the imagination and is such a dark navy that anyone could wear it really. The blue tone (as dark as it is) helps to accentuate my blue eyes and also adds a brighter look to my eye make-up - in a not very bright way, if you get my drift.

The fact that it's double ended makes this a much longer pencil than I usually use, and I envisage the blue end being used very regularly and the black barely being used at all which will eventually ruin the balance of the pencil. It needs sharpening surprisingly regularly considering how hard the colour is, and then you have to be careful as it's crazily easy to over-sharpen it and then you end up with a point that could possibly skewer a vampire if you couldn't find the requisite stake! This is not good for my eyes as not only do I feel like I'm running the risk of blinding myself if I have a twitch while applying my eyeliner, but the point also makes the skin underneath my eyes really red and sore immediately after sharpening and these effects take quite a while to disappear so it must be harsh enough to do even minor damage to this delicate area.

As far as longevity goes, this isn't too bad considering it's only a £3 eyeliner. It doesn't last as well as the gels I use but as a daytime eyeliner it's fine - I wouldn't use it to go on a night out as frankly neither of the colours have enough oomph for that kind of wear, but for pottering around Tesco or doing the school run it's not a problem. I find the blue seems to fade to nothing quicker than the black, but I'm not really fussed about my eyeliner disappearing during the day and would never be bothered to faff around and start reapplying it - again this is another reason why I wouldn't wear it for a date night with Mark as who wants to spend precious drinking time holed up in a pub toilet redoing their make-up?! Not me!

As a pencil eyeliner all I can say really is that it's 'OK'. It's not something I can see myself using regularly as the product just isn't as high quality as I'd like - the dragging irritates me massively, and for such 'meh' shades I really can't be bothered with the extra time it takes to apply compared to a gel or glitter eyeliner. That's not to say that the Midnight Blue isn't a fab colour, it is, but the disadvantages outweigh the advantages for me and it just seems like a teeny bopper no-thought-for-quality product.

        Kajalstick Eyeliner

        {INTRODUCTION}

I was browsing the Avon catalogue when I came across this product, I have always wore black eye liner, but was willing to try something a little different in shade wise, and because I have brown eyes I thought I would get this. People have told me that brown would suit my eyes which is another reason I chose this eye liner, but I have to say I was disappointed.

        {ABOUT THE KAJALSTICK}

A kajalstick is a duo eyeliner pencil with a colour at each end of the pencil, I have to say I have never seen or heard of these until seeing these in the catalogue. I do think these are a great idea especially because they have lot of shades to choose from, value for money and not to mention the space you will save in your makeup bag. After looking through the pencils section of the catalogue I decided on buying the black/warm brown colour, I was a bit wary of wearing a different colour than my usual black, but gave it a go anyway.

I have to say when applying the warm brown to my eyes, I wasn't happy at all, as the brown didn't really suit me, the colour looked a redish brown colour more red than brown. I thought maybe applying more colour to my eyes would make give me the brown I wanted but it didn't, but at least I gave another shade a go, just a shame it didn't work for me. As for the black I wear that quite a lot as that is the colour I always wear when wearing eye liner.

When applying the colour to your eyes I have noticed you do have to put a couple of coats on before you get the colour you want, but that does not bother me really, the colour will last a couple of hours, so you don't really need to be reapplying every half hour. The pencil is easy to sharpen when the colour gets low. The pencil itself is very eye catching, its black with purple what looks like flowers and white sparkles on it, I have to say looks pretty. It also has clear plastic covers on each end to protect the eyeliners.

        {PACKAGING}

The kajalstick comes in a long thin black box with the information on the front and sides of what it is, colour and other relevant information. The eye liner is longer than what I normally buy and doesn't quite fit in my makeup bag, but that does depend on the size of bag you have.

        {AVAILABILITY & PRICE}

As I have mentioned already in this review I bought this from the Avon catalogue at a price of £2.50 which I thought was a good price considering you get 2 different shades. The price does tend to change from time to time especially when they get put on special offer.

        {FINAL THOUGHTS}

I have to say even though I don't have a problem with the product itself I will not be buying it again, I was disappointed with the warm brown colour on my eyes, but that is my fault for choosing something new. Although there are a lot of other shades out there they wouldn't suit me, so for me just a single eye liner pencil would do me just fine. But please don't let this put you off purchasing this product.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        brilliant for every day use

I have tried many eye liners and this is the one i buy on a regular basis. i find it quite hard to find the bold eye liner that will stay on for more than two hours. i have only found one eye liner other than colortrend kajal sticks that are the same quality but they are no longer made. this product is very well priced and as its longer than the average eye liner that usually cost more. you seriously cant afford to not try it and i will continue to use it and highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't have the time or want to be constantly re applying their make up throughout the day. Avon also have this eye liner at a reduced price in the majority of their brochures and are practically giving it away even when its not on offer. avon also give yo 90 days to return the product if you dont like it. EVEN IF ITS USED!!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Great value, great product

We all know that when we get our avon brochures through the post we hunt for the offers that are running. So when I saw the colourtrend kajal sticks on offer for £1!!!!!!! Yes £1!!!! I was chuffed!
I bought the black, brown and a purple colour.

They really are good value for money. They go on easily, not too soft that they melt yet not too hard that they dont go on at all.

The black one wasn't as black as I has expected but I used it as a base then apllied black eyeshadow over it and it held it on. The purple one was a great colour, the brown was also very good.

They lasted all day and they wiped off with a face wipe easily at night.

Suitable for beginners, these are great! The only bad thing is that they aren't available in every issue of the avon brochure, so get them when you can!!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        brilliant eyeliner! must buy!

Avon colour trend products are always on offer, and last brochure, i brought these in purple and in silver to go with a beautiful dress i had brought for a party

They are twice the size of a normal eye pencil, and are alot cheaper too. I brought each eyeliner for £1.50 so two eyeliner for £3 is an absoloute bargain!

The colours are vibrant, but not too bright so it takes the attention from everything else and when used in conjunction with each other, they produce a brilliant effect.

I have used both colour on the ledge on my eye and underneath and so far they have produced no itching or uncomfortable sensation and i have also used them under the eye

These colours go well together and produce a good colour when you put the purple along the eye, finishing it off with a bit of silver near the tear duct of your eye. It gives a glamourous feel and can make an outfit when you have beautiful eyes to go with it

i have light coloured eyes, with dark around the edges, and they always need a bit of definition, and this is a great product to do that with. You couldnt wear it to work, as it is too strong a colour, but at home or at parties it is a brilliiant eyeliner to wear

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Stick this on your eyes to kaj admiring glances.

This eyeliner is excellent value! The full price is £2.75, which I would usually think was a bit steep for the color trend range, but this is well worth it, for two reasons: it's much better quality than most other color trend products, and it's twice the length of most eyeliners! As a bonus, these eyeliners are often available for just £1!

I have this product in several colours: Black, Navy, Purple, and Silver. Navy and Purple are not currently available, perhaps to make room for the newer shades of Dark Bronze and Deep Turquoise. All the colours I have are quite vivid, and the silver one is particularly impressive. I'm often disappointed with silver eyeliners, as the colour is usually insipid, or the texture is scratchy. This one has neither of those defects.

The eyeliner comes in a really long pencil, which sharpens very smoothly. The product is easy to apply - it goes on smoothly and feels quite soft, though not to the extent that it would be difficult to draw a precise line. It doesn't smudge, but it does tend to disappear before the end of the day. The size of the pencil means there is always plenty left when you need to reapply, though!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Not for me

I like to keep my make up quite simple when I apply it so this normally means just a base of foundation / powder, mascara and eyeliner. I don't go for a very dramatic look when wearing eyeliner, however I quite like it to be seen so sometimes I haved to go over it 2 or 3 times when I apply it and then have to reapply a few times throughout the day as well as smoothing out any smudges that appear!

The other day when flicking through the Avon Catalogue I spotted these for just £1 each on a special deal type thing. There were lovely shades avaliable, them being, black, silver, purple and a lovely navy blue. I decided to buy the black as that it is just a basic need to me, the silver and the navy blue. I ordered them off of my Avon representative so they did take around 2 weeks to arrive, but I didn't mind waiting as I tend to forget what I ordered and then am surprised to see it when it arrives!

They are quite long eyeliners is what I thought when they first arrived, they are aound twice the size as the smaller ones and about the size and a half of a normal one. They come sealed in cellophane and each have their own clear lid. The downside I found was that they didn't fit into any of my make up bags!

        ~To apply~
To apply they were actually really easy and smooth! They are soft and they are not that pointy and have a slighlty rounded edge which means that they are not pointy and don't leave your eyes watering like some others do on first use.

It is very easy to go across the whole eye in one easy swoop withouth having to go back over to cover whole eye or to get a better look.

        ~The look~
The looks, depending on the colour differ. Some of them look really good whilst others make you look quite ill. For £1 I feel that on the whole they give a good look, but not great.

        ~The Black~
So it's a black eyeliner. That's it. It isn't an amazing one that can last all day, it smudges in the corners of the eyes, it needs to be reapplied and it quite a pale black and looks almost mottedly. The good thing is that it only takes seconds to apply and you don't need to go over it loads of time as no matter how many times you go over it, it will never be black, black.

        ~The Blue~
This is my favourite. It gives a lovely, cool look and is great for day time or could easily be glammed up for evenings with some smoky eyes! It doesn't smudge as easily as the black one and lasts throughout most of the day and only need to reapply once.

It looks really great when you apply it to the inner eye and is a lovely colour. It also stays put and doesn't smudge it the corners the way that other eyeliners do!

        ~The silver~
This was definitley my least favourite and was quite frankly horrible! It made my skin (though admittedly I am already quite pale) look really pale, but with a yellow twinge to it. It made the rims of my eyes look a horrible pink colour in contrast to the silver. The silver was much more birghter than I had though it would be and was definitley the hardest to apply.

This one did not need to be reapplied nor did it smudge, this meay be due to its light colour and almost tough / flaky texture. It did not give a dramativ look (well, I suppose you could call the "walking dead" dramatic!)

        ~My thoughts overall~
I think these are ok eyeliners for the price, but are definitley not the best I have ever used and are definitley not 'precision' eyeliners (I know that they are not called precision, but I did not expect them to be smudged everywhere!)

They were ok for day time, however most of them weren't that great for night time wear and overall I think that the Navy Blue one was the best. I don't think that I will be buying these again and I am still sitting on the fence as to whether or not I would reccomend them, if they were on £1 offer again I may contemplate buying the blue one, however at the normal price I would definitley not buy again.

Overall I'll leave it to you to make your mind up but these just aren't for me!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A great eyeliner at a fantastic price.

I bought this eyeliner in both silver and purple in a 3 for £5 promotion with the colour trend mascara.

        Application

These are lovely soft eyeliner pencils which go on easily. I have used them both inside and outside the eyelid and have not had any irritation from them. They do not pull on the skin and give a good depth of colour in one stroke. I have found that the colour lasts all day and doesn't slide too badly compared with other eyeliners I have used.

        Colours

I have these in silver and purple and love both the colours. The purple is vibrant and the silver shimmers subtly.

        Value for Money

Like the rest of the colour trend range these eyeliners offer very good value for money and exceptional value when purchased as part of a multibuy offer.

        Availability

These are available from an Avon Representative or direct from www.avonshop.co.uk

        Overall

I would definitely buy these again. It is a nice cheap way to try different colours. A great product at a fantastic price.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        2.5 stars

I love eyeliners and enjoy trying out different colours, types and brands. When I saw this Avon Kajal Stick Eyeliner was on special offer, I had to get one. It was reduced from its usual price of £2.50 to just £1.50 and I thought that was worth the risk.

The eyeliner is part of Avon's Color Trend range which is a range of cheapish make-up that is obviously aimed at teenagers. I have found it a bit hit and miss in the past, probably mostly miss, but I thought I'd give it another chance.

The Kajal Stick is available in four colours: black, navy, silver or purple. I decided to go crazy and ordered two, both the black and the purple.

The eyeliner is in pencil crayon form. It arrived wrapped in cellophane, underneath which was a very long black coloured pencil with some attractive silver and pink patterns printed on the sides. It has a plastic lid to protect the crayon end.

I personally think the pencil is too long, as although you are obviously getting value for money, it won't fit in most make-up bags and certainly won't fit in mine. This makes it a bit inconvenient.

The eyeliner goes on quite easily and you can vary the pressure to get either a thin precise line or a thick darker line.

I don't find that the eyeliner lasts for very long, particularly the black and especially when I've put it on thick. Even if I put make up fixant over the top it still ends up sliding down my face and giving me huge panda eyes after just a short while, a couple of hours or so at most. If I put a thin line on then it just seems to dissolve into little black specks.

I'm not very impressed with this eyeliner although the purple is better than the black. I wouldn't buy one again however if you wish to do so you can get one on the Avon website or from your Avon representative.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

best eyeliner I have used for that price.

Avon has a range of make-up called 'color trend' this is a range of different bits of make-up at a cheaper price than others in the book. I prefer the other avon make-up rather than the color trend range but I do think you can get good bargains on the color trend range. They often have offers over this range such as 'any 3 for £5' or 'all £2.50 each'. I think these are good prices for simple bits of make-up.
Avon color trend eyeliner are fantastic and well worth there price. When I bought mine it was included in the offer of 'any 3 color trend products for £5' for that price I thought I would try out some things as usually I buy the more expensive makeup from avon.
Firstly the eyeliner is the longest eyeliner I have ever seen, it lasted me a couple of months and I wore it ever single day. The outside of the eyeliner is silver so easy find in your handbag with a little see through lid to keep the end covered up. The lid didn't fit on very well though and did keep falling off.
I have quite sensitive eyes and find it difficult to find eyeliners which dont drag on the skin, this was perfect, it was so soft and didnt pull the skin at all. It went on smoothly and left a nice neat line. It stays on for quite a while with no smudging and comes off easily with make up remover.
Since using the black kajal stick I later ordered the silver which was also fantastic. They do a few different colours including brown and black for day to day use, then they also have more colourful ones which are great for nights out including purple, silver and green. I hope they bring out some more colours to choose from, a gold one would be fab! I would recommend this eyeliner to anyone who's on a budget and likes a few fun colours to choose from.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Defiantly worth a try!

This has got to be the best eyeliner I have ever bought! I love it! Being a massive eyeliner fan, and using way too much of the stuff I couldn't afford to be forking out a lot of money every time I needed some. Avons cheap and cheerful eyeliner is perfect for me, its price is only £2.50 and Avon always have offers on it which is fantastic. Its very easy to use and has lasted me for a very long time sharpening it as you go. It stays in the place you want it to and doesn't need much re-applying however like all makeup it will need a little touch ups now and then. I have never been interested in any colour other than black when it comes to my eyeliner, but feeling a bit adventurous I went for the purple and silvery white, and to my surprise I really like them, there also huge so last for ages! Overall I think this pencil is fantastic!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          I'm impressed

I'm really boring when it comes to eyeliner. I usually stick to the plain black, and tend to be more daring when it comes to eye shadow. But in sale books, I saw these kajal sticks on offer. I purchased them in both silver and navy blue. Neither are colours I would usually go for, purely because I wouldn't know how to work with them. I purchased them only because they were cheap (I am quite impulsive.)

So the eyeliners are huge. They're about double a normal eyeliner, and for the £2.50 price tag, you're getting a lot of product for your money.

I'll start with the navy one. Navy isn't a colour I'd usually go for, because blue doesn't suit me. It's not a very dark blue, it's a medium blue leaning on the dark side. It's an extremely smooth formula, it doesn't tug on the eye at all. I'm not sure of how long they last, because honestly I've not worn the navy one out yet as I'm going through a browns phase.

The silver one is the same as the navy, it's very smooth. I have worn this outside and it does last a long time which is surprising. The silver colour is really pretty and subtle, as I thought it would be more white. It's like a light grey with a bit of shimmer to it.

The only bad things I will say about these is that they don't sharpen very well. I have dried sharpening both when they've been too blunt and they don't work too well. Maybe it's my sharpening technique though, I'm not sure. Also, they're too big for my make up case so I have to leave them out!

Overall I'd recommend these to anyone who wants a good product for a cheap price. I'm going to buy the black and purple ones as soon as I can because I do love them. They're cheap and cheerful and one of Avon's best eyeliners definitely.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

go on get one there great.

Yet again another eyeliner review! This has to be one of my favourite eyeliners that Avon has released to date.

          -----The price and the colours-----
These eyeliner are great value, for the price of £2.50 each, but as usual there are always deals on that Avon do, and at the moment on the website you are getting 3 for the price of 2, so an even better bargain. There are 4 different colours youc an purchase this in, silver, purple, navy and also black. I have 3 of these with the only one missing being the navy one, basically because its not really my colour.

The silver is one of my favourites out of this range. Alot of eyeliners are very dull and not that noticable, but this one is really metallic silver and very noticeable, but still subtle enough for the older generation to wear.
The Purple on the other hand is a bit brighter but still really lovely, and for my self this is exactly what i expect from an eyeliner, nice and bright and daring.

          -----The product-----
Unlike other eye pencils this one is rather long. The only way that i can describe this is to say that it is about the size of 2 normal eyeliner joined together. Which is great for the price too.

          -----Ease of use-----
I found that when i apples this eyeliner it was really smooth, and it sisnt smudge of rub off either. If i was to apply this is the morning to go to my work it would still look really refreshed by the time night time come around, which is ok if you are constantly on the go and dont have time to always refresh your make-up.

          -----Good points-----
One of the best points for me was the size of the pencils and also the easy of application, with also the added fact that the colours are really nice too.

          -----Bad points-----
I really didnt find that there was any bad points about this eyeliner, but i am sure that everyone will have their own opinion in this so any comments will be gratefully appreciated.

I would definitley say that i will buy more of these as the prices are perfect, and they are great value for money aswell being so easy to use.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            £2.50 is an amazing price!

When it comes to eyeliners I own loads of them in different formulas and different colours. I love to experiment with eye make up and at 34 years old I'm all to aware that when it comes to make up I have to be careful trying to be too trendy or anything as you can look a bit mutton dressed as lamb! However with eyeliner I find it easy to update a look easily without going over the top which is why when I saw this one in the Avon catalogue I decided it was worth a go!

            The Packaging....

Much longer than average black shiny 'pencil' with pink and grey flowers on it and in pink writing I'm told it's Avon 'Kajalstick', my colour is stated (silver) and contact details for Avon are on there as well. It has a clear plastic lid that securely fits over the top covering the colour which is sharpened to a point and is of course a wooden pencil so you can see a little smooth lightish wood encasing the colour at one end. All in all I really like the look of the pencil. It's very smart, doesn't look cheap and is real value for money simply due to the massive size of it!

            Using It...

Well as I stated earlier I got me one in silver but these are also available in navy, purple, and black colours (usual price £2.50 but do look out for these being on offer). So it is a pencil formula just to be clear. You can use it on it's own, over a make up base, with other eye make up whatever. For a soft and gentle look I apply this and then apply my eyeshadow but if I want a more night time look that is intense I will also apply it after eyeshadow. It does work best with powder formulation eye-shadows in my experience. Basically you draw it close to your eyelashes and doing this is exceptionally easy.

It is a moist formula so glides on the eyes with precision and no dragging. I love the ease of use this has to it. It doesn't go on too thick or too thin either and of course you can draw away on your eyes until the results you require are given. The colour (mine) is shimmery and soft but I can build the colour up to look quite intense and although I use quite a bit of the colour my eyes don't feel gunky and heavy as it's actually as light as a feather when sat on the skin. None irritating on my really sensitive eyes it doesn't upset me to apply it as it's simple and straightforward to do so and it doesn't upset my eyes when left on all day long and it stays fresh and bright with no smudging or fading at all.

You do need to sharpen it occasionally again with a decent quality pencil sharpener but it's easy to sharpen and take care of and it really doesn't need sharpening that often anyway.

Removing it from eyes is again easy and this has no special requirements and simply comes off with your usual make up removing routine.

            Overall....

Really excellent and me, well l I shall be purchasing the other colours! I love them being so simple to use and remove and love the results and even better than that they last for donkeys without drying up or anything and are just so economical and a great way to update your look!

            Only available from Avon.
