Never So Nude
Avon state - 'Colour magnifiers boost colour!'
No idea what that is supposed to mean.
When I saw this product in the Avon catalogue I thought it looked quite innovative with having a six sided bullet of lipstick.
I ordered Pink Pop as coming into Spring I always like pinky shades and in the catalogue and on the website it looks as though it has an intense deep colour.
Anyway this lipstick case is quite fat and chunky in the middle - no idea why as the bullet of lipstick is quite slim inside.
The six sided design is very good and eye catching but the most important part of lipstick is how it looks and feels.
This is a very disappointing product which I will be returning. Although it looked a good intense sort of deep pink colour, when applied it was very sheer and did not have much pigment to it at all. Also what I hated was that it had tiny flecks of glitter in it which clearly showed up on my lips - not something that was mentioned in the catalogue or was visible from the images. I do not know how many of the other shades have this glittery stuff or if it was just my shade.
I would not want to be using this lipstick at any price and it made me look as if I had a cheap tub of glittery lip gloss from the £1 shop.
Definitely the worst lipstick I have ever had form Avon.

Ultra Colour Rich Mega Impact Lipstick
Highly endorsed by the glamorous Reese Witherspoon, these lipsticks are a lot more vibrant in colour and perfect for the dominant woman wanting to stand out of the crowd and give a strong and powerful impression. Or at least that was the feeling I got from the adverts on television and in the brochure.
The lipstick comes in a standard roll up roll down tube in black with a silver band with the word AVON inscribed for easy identification. The base also contains the shade in word form and colour so you can quickly identify it if you are searching around in your bag for it and have maybe three types of lipstick for different special occasions. I know. I really need to invest in a make-up bag as most of my make-up items spend their time rolling around the very bottom of my very large bag which is absolutely packed with various everyday objects including ear muffs and university notes.
The lipstick itself
The shape of the lipstick is rather unique in my opinion square or almost rectangular in shape it is different from any lipstick I have ever applied before and initially I have to admit I was a little confused in the direction in which it should be used. The shape is said to optimise application perfection but it does mean that you have to hold it in your hand and look in the mirror the first few times you use it just to make sure you get it in the right places. After the first few uses you get pretty used to it and application feels pretty natural.
The shades are quite diverse and have a good range, they include:
Never so Nude
Being a large consumer of Avon products I know that my shade is the Rosy variety when it comes to their lipsticks being of fair, freckly and pale skin with light auburn hair I find the other shades either overpower me or make me look really pale and almost sickly so with rosy I shall stick. I know two other ladies who have tried this however and they are of darker complexion and hair colour and they prefer the personified plum and Mocha Madness shades so overall there is a shade to suit everyone. Though I do think that the Devine Wine and Fuschia Fun are really very powerful colours and I don't think I know anyone who has been brave enough to take on those shades.
The lipsticks do last a good few hours though reapplication will be in order if you are eating, drinking or ahem having a romantic evening * wink wink.*
If you find that this lipstick does not have the durability that you had hoped you could also try Avon's long lasting range which am pretty sure costs the same amount with paler shades available.
These lipsticks cost £8.50 at full price which is pretty good for a celebrity endorsed item, but what is better is that Avon quite frequently offers them at the reduced price from between £3.50-£5 which I thought is amazing value. Avon are even offering a party gift set at the moment which contains the lipstick in pink pop with a supercurlacious mascara, a clutch bag, black eyeliner and quad eye pallet for only £9.99 which I think is amazing value. I think this is to start off their Christmas campaign which I find always has some really great bargains in it compared to the high street.
A few campaigns ago I came across a new lipstick advertised in my Avon brochure. The lipstick was called ultra colour rich mega impact and it stood out from the rest due to its difference in design. I decided to give the lipstick a try and I paid £8.00 for it.
When my lipstick arrived I noticed that it looked very professional with its shiny black and silver tubing. The lipstick itself is shaped and more squared off than ones I have tried in the past which is to make the lipstick easier to apply.
The lipstick comes in the following colours:
Never so nude
The shade I opted for was fuchsia fun as in the brochure it looked like a very vibrant purple/pink colour and I wanted something that would stand out. I do feel that the shaped lipstick does make the colour easier to apply and I find the smaller parts can be easily manoeuvred to fit onto the edges of the lips to ensure no leaks occur. I was however surprised that once the colour was applied it looked a lot less vibrant than it had in the book and judging by the actual colour of the lipstick un applied.
The colour was ok but it looked nothing like I had expected it to and I also hadn't expected it to look as shiny as it did. When applying the lipstick is very wet and feels like applying a gloss rather than a lipstick. I was surprised with this considering the price tag and also according to the brochure this lipstick contains colour magnifiers to boost the vibrancy hence me thinking it was really going to stand out.
I was also rather disappointed with the lasting effect of the lipstick as it feels wet for a while then tends to disappear. In my opinion I feel like this lipstick is overpriced for the quality you receive and considering the shade chart is different to the actual colour you receive, you may have to order a few before getting a nice shade you like. I am sorry to say that I won't be buying this product again and therefore I am on this occasion unable to recommend.
When this first came out in the brochures, there was an incentive for representatives only (I'm a rep) that was the more you sold, the cheaper you got them for, or something like that. This product was really popular with the customers, and I sold about five or six with one campaign, which is a big acheivement for me. I also ordered myself a couple of these, as I thought I might as well take advantage of the offer, and not only that but these lipsticks did look amazing.
They were modelled by Reese Witherspoon, Avon's global ambassador, and when they first came out had the whole front page of the brochure dedicated to them. They do some really nice shades, too. They are all supposed to be bright, bold and eyecatching - mega impact!
The shades are:
*Never So Nude
The shades I ordered this in were pink pop and charged cherry.
Pink pop is my favourite, as it isn't too overly bold and can be worn in the day, as well as at night. My lips look really shimmery when I am wearing this, as I think it must have little bits of glitter in it or something. I really like this, because it brightens up my face. The charged cherry one is shimmery like this, too, except the colour is a bit bolder and I would only dare wear this one at night, because it is close to bright red. Don't get me wrong, though, as I really like the way it looks.
You might have noticed the unique shape of this lipstick in the picture. It has an "angled-shape for precise application", as the brochure describes it. The more you use this, you might expect the shape to wear off a bit, but I have been using the pink pop one for ages now and the shape is still there and just as good as ever.
The lipstick, when applied, feels really creamy and glides on easily. It looks gorgeous, I have to say, and I really love it. As an added bonus, this lipstick has also got SPF15 in it so this protects your lips at the same time as making them look gorgeous.
The normal price for this is £8, which isn't too bad. Although I always recommend looking out for offers, with any Avon product, because the brochures are always full of amazing deals to help you save money. I got this for about £3.50, being a rep, but I have seen this in the brochures at as low as only £5. What a bargain!
I definitely recommend. Thanks for reading.
