~Avon Glazewear Clear~
Glazewear is a range of lipglosses offered by Avon. This range includes lots of coloured glosses and also sparkle finish glosses. There is also a clear lipgloss on offer.
The clear gloss is described as giving a 'super high gloss clear finish with added sun protection for everyday wear.' It contains SPF15 and is said to be non sticky.
This lipgloss is presented in a typical lipgloss style tube. The bottom half is curvy and made of clear plastic whilst the top half features a black lid with lipgloss wand attatched inside. This lipgloss has a sponge applicator. The design is very simple and functional.
This lipgloss is available from www.avonshop.co.uk or from your local Avon rep. A 6ml tube is priced at £6.00 but is currently reduced to £4.00 (on the Avon website).
I am a fan of Avon make up and one product I have been using on and off since I was a teenager, is the Clear Lipgloss. The packaging has changed quite a bit since I started using this in my teens and definitely for the better. I own quite a number of lipglosses. I mainly opt for pale colours but sometimes prefer to use a clear gloss for a more natural look.
This lipgloss is very easy to apply. It isn't overly thick or gloopy and a decent amount of product is transferred to the sponge each time. The sponge is very soft against my lips and allows the gloss to be spread neatly. I use this gloss sparingly as if I apply too much, it becomes heavy feeling and difficult to spread. It is slightly sticky at first - not overly so but if I get caught in a windswept moment, my hair does start to cling slightly to my lips.
Very little gloss is needed to coat my lips in a thin, even layer. The gloss leaves my lips feeling moisturised and hydrated. A lot of lipglosses dry my lips out so this is definitely a benefit of using this product. Providing I have only spread a small amount of gloss across my lips, it feels smooth and lightweight. The gloss aspect is quite nice but nothing outstanding. My lips look moist and have a natural shine which I like. On the odd occasion that I wear lipstick, I find that this gloss enhances the shine of the colour on my lips beautifully.
My lips feel nicely protected when wearing this lipgloss. I would appreciate a flavour like some other glosses have. The SPF 15 aspect makes this ideal for coating my lips during the warmer months. It isn't only our skin we need to take of - our lips are important too and I found my lips appreciated this protection during the Summer. I do find that this lipgloss needs to be reapplied often. Whilst my lips stay quite moist and protected for several hours, the shine starts to disappear quickly especially if I am eating or drinking. It is easy to top up and very practical as it can be done without a mirror!
One 6ml tube lasts me for ages but I still feel the price is quite expensive for a clear lipgloss. It isn't really any better at performing than the Make Up Academy clear gloss I also have in my collection (the MUA version is £5 cheaper). It is a good lipgloss though and leaves my lips feeling comfortable and protected.
Thanks for reading :)
If you have read one of my previous reviews about the coloured version of this lip gloss, you will know that I ordered a few of these lip glosses last Christmas for myself.
In my opinion clear lip glosses are essential, so I am always looking out for a good one. I thought I'd give this one a go, because AVON is a trusted brand and I was it was on offer, so why not!
You can only purchase this product from your local AVON representative, or online www.avon.uk/com .
This product will set you back £6 (can often be found on offer) and for that you get 6ml of SPF15 Clear Lip gloss. I have seen similar products on the market for a fraction of the price, so this does seem a little bit expensive for a lip gloss.
The tube it comes in is a transparent plastic with a black screw off lid. I do like the packaging because you can see how much product you have left. The applicator wand is attached to the lid. The wand has a small sponge applicator on the bottom. The rim of the product wipes off excess product when you remove the wand from the tube. The sponge will glide over your lips easily.
One sweep of the lip gloss across your lips is enough to cover them. I have found that to get better effects two coats are needed.
The lip gloss feels quite light and not at all sticky. In my opinion the lip gloss doesn't have a scent or taste.
AVON states that this lip gloss has a "Super high gloss clear finish with added sun protection for everyday wear. Glides on smooth, feels comfortable".
I agree with the 'Glides on smooth, feels comfortable' part, but the 'super high gloss and clear finish' is not really what I got.
You can't really tell that you are wearing the lip gloss; it doesn't really provide any shine or glossiness. My lips did feel soft, but you couldn't tell I was wearing it. It provides more of a matte look. This is okay if you just want a natural gloss, but if you are aiming for more of a shiny look then it is definitely not for you.
I have worn this on top of lip stick, and just on its own. When worn on top of lipstick it enhances the colour, but you still don't get much shine. If you do use it with lip stick the applicator can become coloured, and then that results in the lip gloss doing the same.
I did wear this on holiday and I felt that the SPF15 factor worked; my lips felt softer, and were not affected by the sun. So, I'm assuming it works.
This product will last for around half an hour, so reapplication is necessary quiet frequently. This can be quite annoying, so I very rarely use this now-a-days.
It's made in Poland. I am unsure of whether the ingredients of this product are sourced locally or ethically.
You can visit the AVON website for a full list of ingredients.
I have awarded this lip gloss 3 stars, which was generously rounded up from 2 and a half. It does provide a natural look, and does protect your lips from sun damage, but it doesn't last, and you can barely tell that you are wearing it. For the high price you pay I was expecting more, but overall it's a disappointing product from AVON.
You can visit www.avon.uk/com to order, or to find out more information.
Thank you for reading this review, I hope it was of some use to you!

Most of my family know I'm a lover of beauty products and make up so it's a safe bet to buy me these sorts of gifts for Christmas. I'm not usually a wearer of Avon products so the Avon Glazewear Clear Lipgloss given to me by my mum was a way of introducing me to Avon products and furthering my addiction to shopping.
***Avon Glazewear Clear Lipgloss***
Avon describe this lip gloss as "Super high gloss clear finish with added sun protection for everyday wear. Glides on smooth, feels comfortable"
Avon Glazewear Clear Lipgloss comes in very standard lipgloss packaging. The tube is tapered with a clear section so you can see the clear gloss and wand inside of the tube. The tube has a black screw on lid with a sponge applicator wand attached.
***Price and Availability***
Avon Glazewear Clear Lipgloss is available by ordering from your Avon rep or online at www.avon.co.uk . Currently it is being sold at £6.00 for a 10ml tube although the usual price is £10. This is very expensive for a clear lipgloss when sold at full price.
You can also purchase this product in other pink/ brown shades which include tickled pink, darling pink, iced pink, island glow and mauve moment.
***Application and Wear***
The clear Glazewear lipgloss is applied how you apply most other lipglosses. You screw the lid from the tube and use the sponge applicator wand. When applied the sponge easily spreads the lipgloss onto your lips evenly and not too much product is spread over your lips. The lipgloss is quite thin and light feeling and does not have a heavy sticky feel to it. Taste wise the Clear Glazewear lipgloss has a sweet but not overly sickly taste and is quite a light taste rather than leaving a strong taste in your mouth.
Looks wise I was expecting a very glossy shiny effect and I do not feel this was the case. The clear lipgloss had more of a matte shimmery finish as opposed to a mirror type shiny gloss. The gloss or Glaze looks smooth on lips and gives a soft natural look to lips. There is no hint of stickiness both the feel of the gloss and also the look. The lipgloss has a SPF15 offering protection from the sun. After a few applications of this I found that my lips felt in better condition and very smooth.
One issue I did have was the staying power of the Avon Clear Glazewear. The soft silky feeling gloss rubs off very easily and needs reapplying very regularly. After eating drinking and generally just talking I felt the lipgloss just wipes straight off. This is very disappointing for a gloss which at full price is £10.
This is a great lipgloss for those that like natural looking make up and natural lips. As much as I call this a "lipgloss" it is not overly shiny and wet looking lip product therefore it definitely suits the "Glaze" name given to it by Avon. I do not think this lives up to the description given to the product by Avon that this is a "super high gloss" as it is a very subtle product which gives a clear shimmer that it very natural, making lips look plump without any stickiness which many lip glosses give lips. The product also has a very pleasant taste to it.
At full price this is quite an expensive clear lip product, especially if you consider you can pick up a decent clear lipgloss for £3. For the price of £6.00 I would definitely have expected this to have stayed on my lips for longer and not needed reapplying so regularly.
Great results for natural looking lips , it's just a shame Avon Glazewear doesn't have the staying power to give these result for longer.
Avon Glazewear Clear Lip-gloss is perfect gloss for that perfect glossy look. I started using it only recently and I love it! I usually go for bright colours but I looked in my make up bag and thought I don't have a nice clear gloss so got my Avon book out and saw this one.
I know its abit pricey at £5.50 but in order to get that good gloss you need to shell out slightly. Its common to spend more on make up now but I only go up to a certain amount I know my limits! I will pay up to ten but that's it! I haven't gotten a lip-gloss for a while so I thought what the hell. I'm sick of seeing all bright colours on myself and wanted to see a natural look on my face. Too much make up can sometimes hide the natural beauty that we all have under all that make up.
I jotted the order down and bought it for £5.50 for the 6ml tube of clear gloss and I gave it a try you know the o natural look. It was perfect and did not irritate me it was not sticky or messy. It gives my lips a real gorgeous shine, which shocked me, as I never thought a clear would do that for my lips. Its not shimmer or anything but the clear gloss does shine and look great. It feels smooth on your lips and makes them appear bigger which is a bonus!
You can get his in other shades such as brown sugar, cherry liqueur and intense plum. All lovely shades my next pick will be the pink watermelon shade because that looks fancy.
The clear gloss looks smart on your lips there is time for loads of colour but there's also time for a clear lip. Try a light, soft pink on your lids it goes down a treat! Its staying power is brilliant especially with the bolder colours also with the clear too. Eating and drinking doesn't smudge or affect your gloss! Most glosses fall at the first sign of a drink or a nice bit of lunch and re applying can be a pain but this does a good job.
The gloss its self has a black twist of top and the smell is nice not sweet or wierd tasting just right for me. By far it's the best gloss it and I own will be hard to beat that's why I love Avon they make some great stuff. Its 6ml and easy to carry round with me you get plenty it the tube and what makes this one different to all the rest is you can feel its quality once you apply it to your lips its feels lovely and you feel gorgeous with it on. The lip-gloss is one of Avon best I have tried lots of their glosses and I personally like this one try it yourself and see what you think.
5 stars for staying power
5 stars for the look of the gloss
5 stars for the package.
Like most women I love lipglosses. Having previously bought a pink lipgloss from Avon's Glazewear range, I was recently tempted by this clear version with added SPF 15.
The lipgloss has an RRP of £5.50 but is currently selling for £5, and I got it as part of a '2 for £6' offer which I thought was reasonable value.
The gloss comes in a clear tube so that you can see how much gloss you've used, which I think is always useful. It has a black screw top and a sponge applicator inside attached to the lid. It maybe looks a little cheap but that's not a big problem.
The Avon website describes the gloss as 'Super high gloss clear finish with added sun protection for everyday wear. Glides on smooth, feels comfortable. Non-sticky.'
I found that the gloss was a little hard to apply over lipliner or lipstick because it didn't glide on very easily and it tended to take off a bit of the liner/lipstick. It was hard to get much gloss on the brush which added to the problem.
However once the gloss was on it looked quite nice and although it gave a very pleasant shine, it wasn't over the top and looked reasonably natural. It wasn't too thick or gloopy either. With regards to durability, I found that it lasted about the same length of time as most of my other glosses, which is not a particularly long time. You'll probably have to reapply it every hour or so but I've yet to find a gloss where this isn't the case.
I think this is a reasonable lipgloss and the SPF is very handy. However it's certainly not the best gloss in the world and at full price I think it's too expensive for what it is. I might pick it up again if it's ever on a great offer!
