I was very excited indeed by the silver version of this eye colour - it promised a fantastic metallic effect that I knew I couldn't achieve with powder eyeshadow. It looked great in the catalogue, but they must have been doing something really special to get it to look like that! It comes with a lip gloss-style applicator, and it felt a bit odd to be using this on my eyes. Disappointingly, the colour just didn't go on very smoothly. I had to put loads on, going over and over the same area to get anything approaching an even colour. Even then it looked patchy, and not shiny and fabulous like the picture in the catalogue. It went on slightly more smoothly when I tried it on top of pressed powder, but the effect was still uneven. As the colour dried, I felt a bit like I had nail varnish on my eyelids! Like nail varnish, it flaked off, and the colour didn't last very long at all - I was soon left with odd streaks of silver, looking a bit like I'd drawn on my eyelids with a silver pen! I loved the idea of this eye colour, but it didn't really produce the effect I was hoping for. I sometimes use it as a base colour, with sparkly silver eyeshadow on top, but as a stand-alone product it is disappointing.

Summary: Patchy and doesn't last long - perhaps there's a special trick to applying it?
