Avon Glazewear Dimension Lipstick
Avon says, "Glossy lipstick amplified with reflective pearls that radiate with 3D brilliance."
I say ....
Why Did I Buy the Lipstick?
I bought the lipstick from Avon about three - four months ago. At the time I had just had a sort out with my make up, and realised I didn't have any good lipsticks I really liked. I saw this one while flicking through the latest Avon brochures - it looked stylish and it looked really nice how it was presented on the page. I decided to buy it since I have a discount anyway, and I must admit I'm a sucker for make up that looks pretty.. even if its not that good I still like to have things that look nice in my make up bag!
The price is normally £6.50 but I have seen a lot of offers on this product. I thought the lipstick is average so I probably wouldn't have spent that much on it. I know my opinions would be different, though, if I had chosen this product in a different colour. The Sequins Pink shade is just way too pink for me!
I think it would really suit someone with blonde hair and pale skin, but not someone like me who has dark hair and pale skin, and my lips are quite red.
When I Tried the Lipstick Out
When I first tried this lipstick was as soon as the Avon arrived. Usually I forget what I've ordered I order so much, but this time I could remember that I ordered this little lipstick. I opened it straight away, and thought it looked just as stylish in real life as it did in the brochure.
I put some on my lips, at first I thought it looked quite nice, but after a while I decided it was just too pink for me. I'm a really girly person, and love pink, but this is just too pink and sparkly for everyday use, which is what I bought it for. Maybe this would be good for nights out, I think it probably would actually! I will use it next time I go out somewhere nice.
I think the price is average for a lipstick, I wouldn't spend a fortune on lippy myself but loads of my customers have bought this product so it can't be too expensive, although my first reactions to this product were 'how much?!' Now I realise this isn't as bad as the prices some of you lot spend on your designer make up!
The lipstick is available to buy from Avon. You can order through your representative or online, at www.avon.uk.com.
The shades you can buy Avon Glazewear Dimensions Lipstick in are:
As mentioned before, the price is normally £6.50 but I have seen this on offer quite a lot.
According to Avon, "this glossy lipstick contains a balm so you don't have to buy one separately, it's a doddle to apply which makes it the ideal daily lipstick."
According to me, "this lipstick is an average price, it's not glossy at all, but I think there could be a balm in it. It is really easy to apply, and some of the shades do look really nice. I wish I chose a different shade, then for me it would be my ideal daily lipstick."
I recommend this because of its stylish design and easibility of use. It doesn't last that long but it lasts longer than most lipsticks I've tried. Everyone thinks differently about things so I'd say why not give this a go.
My niece gave me a present when she came over on Christmas eve. When I unwrapped the gift, I saw an eyeshadow and this Avon Glazewear Diamonds Lipstick. The lipstick looks really nice with its chrome silver cylinder. When I pulled off the lid, a black lipstick holder tube was revealed with silver 'Avon' print on it.
*Long lasting shine
*With Vitamins A, C & E
Avon Glazewear Diamonds Lipstick always amazes me each time I put it on. I have the Lustrous Berry shade. It provides rich colour to my lips and gives them smooth finish and shine. It has glitters that add accent to my lips. It stays on my lips for about 6 hours and that's actually too long for me considering some lipsticks stay for just about 2 hours on my lips. When the colour gradually fades, few of the glitters stay. It's not really that easy to remove the glitters by rubbing it. I usually wear it during night out for a more dramatic look. The glitters really look good in coloured evening lights.
Wine with Shine
Avon Glazewear Diamonds Lipstick is quite expensive. For a regular price of about £7, what you get is only 2 grams of lipstick whilst other regular lipsticks are packed in 4 grams. It can be sold at a discounted price of £5 when on sale though.
Due to the lipstick's thinness and rich creamy texture, popping it out longer than a quarter of an inch might cause it to snap so extra care is needed when applying it.
Avon Glazewear Diamonds Lipstick is a very good lipstick that provides rich colour and extra shine to my lips with glitters for amazing accent.
I recently spent some money at Avon online, and decided it was time for a new lip gloss, I swear by my old Maybelline one but it has typically been discontinued.
So I went for a similar shade, this one happens to be called Nude Gold. It is a light shiny brown/beige, it doesn't sound too great but does look it.
It comes in the standard Avon packaging, a black cardboard box, the box has white writing on it, giving all ingredients, packaging, and name information.
Inside the box is a silver cylinder, I like it, it is shiny silver. It isn't much smaller than a mascara cylinder. It is about 9 cm long, and 1 cm in width.
It is a great size to fit in your hand bag.
You pull off the lid which is about half the length of the cylinder, inside is black, with Avon written in silver on the steam and silver stars. I like this, all the other stuff I have bought from Avon comes in quite plain packaging, but I like this with the stars, it's just a bit more fun, but not childish and looks quite sophisticated.
The lipstick is the width size of the cylinder but in terms of length it is only half of it, so about 4 cm. You then realise the bottom half is in fact a turning mechanism which pushes the lipstick up. You can twist it to go or down. So as you run out you can twist it higher and get more of the product.
I like the whole package of this lipstick; it is handbag friendly, small and looks smart.
As for the product itself, I love it! It is just the right tone for me; it is easily applicable and doesn't make a mess. You don't have to worry about the lid coming off, it clicks in to place. You don't need to worry about breaking the lid and only half of it coming off (my main issue with my previous lipstick/gloss).
The colour comes out well; it's not too strong or gunky like some products can be. Even though it is glittery is isn't bitty and crumbly on your lips, it comes out smooth and looks great.
These lipsticks cost £6.50 full price but if you keep your eyes open online, they quite regularly have sales and they are below £5.
I think it is perfect for what I want, and I will definitely buy more of these! There are 5 different shades to try after all!
I disagree with the AVon rep who said it is gritty. This is one of the best lipsticks I've used. It's smooth, glossy and mosturizing and looks fab too. I highly recommend this to all women who enjoy an incredible lipstick. It's way better than most of the high end lipsticks I've used.Get it. You won't regret it.!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like to try all the latest Avon innovations when they are released because it allows me, as an Avon representative, to recommend new products to customers I think will like them. I am very glad I thought to try this particular product before being asked any questions about it by my customers but not for positive reasons I am afraid to report.
At first glance this is a really nice product and the sleek, appealing outer packaging is especially attractive. The tall, thin slim tube in a chrome style material looks expensive and is lovely to keep in your handbag. The shade I chose to trial was the pale sparkly pink colour Berry Sparkling though this also comes in Razzle Dazzle, Nude Glitz, Chocolate Sequins, Pink Diamond, Rhinestone Rose, Wine With Shine and Juicy Gem. A good basic variety of colours with one or two shades that will suit most skin tones.
The first time I used this product I knew it would not be popular. It looks lovely in the tube but when you put it on your lips, it has a gritty texture to it where the sparkle has gone in. I wore this lipstick for only about twenty minutes before deciding it would annoy me all day and wiped it off with a tissue. I tried rubbing the top down a little to see if there were just large sparkle chunks in the top of the product but unfortunately I found the texture is consistently gritty throughout.
As both an Avon representative and a fan of their products, I am extremely reluctant to rate one of their products so badly but I really do think this is a bad lipstick. The packaging is attractive and the colour range is good but the texture is not one many ladies would put up with I think. If you do want to buy this it is £6 or you can purchase two for £7 in brochure 14.
When it comes to my make up, I have to say I am a lip gloss girl as opposed to a lipstick girl. I haven't always been like that and I have a make up bag with lip stick alone in there, which I don't use no more and have accumulated over the years. I won't part with them because you never know when you might change you mind and regret that you had give them away or thrown them away.
I have normally stuck to one brand aswell, when it comes to my lip gloss and that would be Clinique, where I have had several lip glosses from Avon before, I have never rated them to the same standard and have been somewhat disappointed.
I came across this little beaut, in the last Avon catalogue, its a fairly new product and was on an introductory offer to start with, and the description of the product caught my eye, and also the shades that they do in this particular product, one did stand out as the sort of colour that I would use.
The AVon Glazewear Diamonds Lipstick comes with an extrememly attractive outer case. Silver in colour, it make it look quite expensive and it has the Avon logo engraved into the side of it. At the bottom on the casing it states the colour that it contains, which I chose my name sake, Juicy Gem, but was also the colour that most appealed to me.
When you first take the lid of the product, the can see glitter in it straight away, Its a very thin crayon like lipstick that is very delicate and you shouldn't push it up to high as could imagine that it would be prone to snap, which you don't want that because its game over then for you and your new lipstick.
The product itself is a cross between a lipstick and a lip gloss, that is why it appealed to me so much because although I wouldn't be using an applicator to put my lipstick on, I would still have that glossy feeling on my lips, which I like.
The product goes on very smooth, because of the width of the lipstick and I haven't got that big lips, I find it useful as it goes on a lot easier, however I normally wear lip liner with mine which acts more as a guide anyway. The colour itself is quite accurate to the one that it shows in the book and I was pretty impressed as normally I find that the colour that the books shows are a little deceiving and not quite accurate, however I will give them top marks for this product.
The diamonds aspect is the glitter within the lipstick, it really adds that glisten to your lips which gives it that nice little extra. One thing I will warn you about is watch who you are kissing when you are wearing this. A man can get rid of lipstick after he has kissed a women, however the glitter in this still remains on his face and is hard to just wipe of without smudging glitter all across his face..... so ladies don't get kissing anyone you shouldn't with this on, as it could land him in trouble.
Still in the catalogue at the moment as an introductory offer, available in several different shades. Think this is one of Avon's better attempts when it comes to lipstick. Nice One!!
