      Decent blush from Avon!

      I got this blush as a gift a while back. The shade I have is Classic Aura. It comes in a sturdy, kinda bulky black casing, which opens by pressing it at the front. On the top of this case, there is the AVON name kinda "carved" in capitals. The case is shiny all over, and not matte. Once open, you can see a rectangular pan which holds the blush (6g), a mirror on the inside of the top lid, and a small brush that comes with the blush. I have had some experience with another Avon blush, and I was quite excited to try this one because I believe that Avon is a pretty decent company with good products. So, on to my opinion!

      Classic Aura is quite a nice shade, a dusty, kind of cool pink, you can even call it rosy color. It has subtle shimmer in it, which gives my cheeks a natural glow without the disco ball effect. It's not a very dark one ether, and I liked it on my fair complexion. I often have a problem with too warm toned pinks as they tend to make me look flustered, but luckily this one is not one of them!

      I usually apply this with my regular blush brush, which means that I don't use the little brush that comes in the case. That's because it's too small, and in my opinion very cheap-feeling. However I do use it when I have to travel, as it's quite practical, even though not the best result.

      The blush itself is very pigmented, just one light swipe with my brush and it picks up a lot of product (which I have to tap off) but I don't mind that. It applies nicely on the skin, blends easily without streaky lines or weird patches. So you can tell that a little goes a long way with this one! It's a good choice for everyday looks, and you can even build it up to your preference.

      Finally, I have not experienced any kind of discomfort or irritations, or breakouts while using it. It's not the best when it comes to long lasting, probably because of my oily skin, but it does fairly well and I like it so far.

      A good quality powdered blusher product from the Avon brand.

      I work part time as an Avon Representative when my poor health allows, and this means I have great access to the assorted Avon ranges, including their make-up and cosmetics. I have a large collection of make-up items obtained from their assortment of ranges, and this review outlines my experiences of using the "Avon Ideal Luminous Blush."

      The Blush is basically a powdered blusher item, and is available in a choice of three shades which are: "Peach", "Russet" and "Soft Plum". I have the product in the Soft Plum shade which is a pale pink colour. The 6g compact of the Avon Ideal Luminous Blush is usually priced at £6.50, but I paid only around £4 as part of a promotional offer available in a recent Avon brochure. You can purchase the item directly from your Avon Representative, of course, or you can order online at www.avonshop.co.uk, where postage costs apply.

      The product's appearance is in keeping with others from elsewhere in the Avon make-up range, being provided in chunky black packaging. The powdered blusher is presented in a robust-looking black compact that has a 'hinged' design, detailing a square mirror in the lid. The blusher itself sits in the bottom part of the compact, being in a small oblong compartment that takes up approximately half of the space here. The other half of the space is used to house a little brush that is around 2 inches in size.

      I have found that there are no obvious difficulties with me using this product, and even though I suffer with weakness in my hands as a result of mobility issues, I have no difficulties with using the compact's closure or with the product itself.

      The product is very easy to use, and all I need to do is lightly 'sweep' the little brush along the top surface of the blusher, which will create a small amount of blusher particles that cling helpfully to the brush's bristles. This can then be brushed along the 'apples' of my cheek which will provide a gentle colour at this area.

      I have found that the little brush contained within the compact is easy to use and works quite well, but I do have a larger, rounder blusher brush at home which I tend to prefer to use with products like this one, finding I have slightly more control over the application of the product on my face. This is probably down to personal choice, and I have to be honest and say that I have used the smaller brush to 'top up' my blusher when out and about, and it has worked well enough for my own requirements. When applying the blusher in these circumstances, I am grateful for the large mirror located in the compact's lid, finding its generous size to be more useful than other, similar products I own that have a very thin 'strip' of mirror in their compact, making application more difficult when away from home.

      The blusher feels very 'smooth' on the skin, rather than being overly powdery, which can cause a 'flecked' appearance, or can cause small 'particles' to fall elsewhere on the face during the application process, providing a less 'flawless' end result. This is an annoying trait of other powdered blusher products that I own, but I can't say I have noticed this being an issue with the Avon Luminous Blush. Instead, the product 'glides' easily over the cheekbones, providing a subtle 'hint' of colour at the area, which allows for a neater - and more natural - end result.

      I find the shade of my blusher which is the Soft Plum choice to be perfectly suited to my own make-up collection, which mostly consists of subtle, natural-looking products. My skin tone could be described as being almost porcelain, so I am not a fan of robustly-coloured darker shades, finding they give a horribly artificial, heavily made-up appearance that just doesn't suit my colouring. This is not an issue at all when using the Avon Blush, and I find it's soft tones and gentle plum/pink hue is perfectly suited to my own foundation and powder products, allowing for a gentle hint of colour at my cheekbones, rather than a robust, dark colour to be witnessed there.

      I find too that I really only need one - or two, at the most - 'sweeps' from my blusher brush on top of the blusher product to obtain enough of the product for my own requirements. This result will vary from person to person, I expect, but for my own tastes I find that this will really provide more than enough of the blusher to achieve the desired result. This means, of course, that my compact is lasting for a surprisingly long time, due to so little of the product being required with each use. This result allows the purchase price to feel like excellent value, particularly as I have obtained more than three months worth of usage from the compact with plenty of the product remaining inside.

      As with all the make-up items from the Avon brand that I own, I have experienced nothing in the way of irritation or sensitivity from using the Ideal Luminous Blush, finding it carries a gentle formulation that poses no problems for my hyper-sensitive skin. For this reason, I do recommend the product for those consumers who, like me, suffer with sensitive skin.

      I do really recommend the Avon Ideal Luminous Blush, and it is a product that I will definitely repurchase. I find the product is quick and easy to use, with one quick 'sweep' of the blush being ample for my own requirements in terms of colour and shade. The product's colour is perfectly suited to my own needs, being subtle and pale enough for my own tastes. I find that the purchase price of the compact too, is agreeable, particularly as so little of the product is required with each application, allowing the compact to last for quite a long time. Taking everything into account, I feel that top marks are more than deserving in the product rating score.

        Give yourself a healthy glow with these blushers

        ===Why I Bought This===

        I have always been a little on the pale side so to make myself look a little bit more alive and healthy I always like to add a little colour to my cheeks - even if not putting on a full face of makeup.

        ===The Brand===

        Avon is a long established direct selling network which used to sell just door-to-door but you can order directly from their website these days if you do not have a local representative handy.
        Avon has 18 different brouchures issued throughout the year - or their stock can be viewed online.

        ===The Product===

        The Avon website claims - 'Create a beautiful luminous finish* with this luxurious pearly blush. Silky smooth skin-enhancing shades gives skin a fresh**, radiant-looking glow*.' (*Consumer Study, 29 people. **Consumer Study, 30 people.)
        Avon Ideal Luminous Blush.
        Comes in a black cardboard box.
        6 grams, made in China.
        Black compact with slightly rounded sides.
        Has AVON imprinted on its lid.
        Use within 24 months.
        Press front to open.
        In the lid is a large square mirror.
        The compact is divided almost in two - one side for an oblong of blusher and the other is a tray for a small 2 inch brush.

        Shades available - Peach, Russet and Soft Plum.

        £6.50 but currently £4 on offer.

        ===My Opinion===

        I always like a little blusher on my cheeks and try and have two shades on the go at any one time - a brownish shade and a pinky shade. These I rotate depending on what colour clothes and eyeshadows I am wearing.
        Having a school reunion coming up and plannig to wear pinks and cerise I bought this Avon blusher in Soft Plum.
        This is a very nice pink/plum colour and gives a good pink bloom to your cheeks without being so bright as to look artificial.
        Two negatives points I have to mention are the small brush - which I do not bother using as I have a good large long handled lusher brush of my own anyway and the fact that although the compact is good and large the blusher actually only takes up about half of it. I do not mind about the amount of blusher in the compact but it would be easier to get the blusher on the brush if it was in a circular shape or if it was in a thinner layer and actually filled the compact more.
        This blusher does go on nicely and gives a healthy subtle look without being clown-like. The Soft Plum is a delicate shade and not such a vivid pink as I have had in the past. Only a little is used at a time and therefore the blusher compact will last a very long time. However it is quite strong enough for me and I find a quick sweep on the balls of my cheeks is quite sufficient. It lasts well, quite long enough for my needs anyway.

        ===Star Rating===

        5 stars.
