I was bought the shade 'fiery sky' in Avon's cosmic nail collection under the nailwear pro+ badge which promises a longer lasting nail varnish. I've tried a few on the market that promise ten days' wear and have never found one which really does this.
I thought this shade looked a bit orangey in the bottle, but decided to give it a try over a brown shade manicure. I tried it as a ring finger accent as it is a highly glittery shade and loved the effect so much I had to then apply it all over my nails! It's a good job I tried it this way first as when I went to use it on its own it looked really opaque and I guess they are really not meant to be worn alone. Over a dark base though, they look fantastic.
I found this easy to apply, the brush was just right to get full coverage in three strokes. One coat provided perfect coverage but on its own you'd need two coats. I was covering opaque brown which is why one was enough. I did also use a top coat to get extra shine, seal the edge and prevent chipping.
I found this to be perfect the entire length of wear. After 5 days I was ready for a change but to be honest it was in perfect condition and would have gone a lot longer.
Glittery polishes are always harder to remove and this one sticks to your nail like nobody's business! I had to really scrub away to get it off but found the pot of bourjois remover that you twist your finger in did the job a lot quicker.
I received this as a Christmas gift and a quick look on the Avon website does not list this colour, but I did find it on ebay (new) for £4.99.
I really was not expecting to like this all that much when I looked at the colour in the bottle, but on the nail it is simply stunning. You really need to layer it over a dark matte shade to get the right effect but it is truly stunning, and helps to elongate the lifetime of your manicure.
Highly recommended, easy to use and long lasting. What more could you want?!
For about 18 months I've been having gels on my nails but in an effort to save money, I've gone back to doing my own nails and so have revisited my nail varnish collection.
Avon's Nailwear Pro
One of the varnishes in my box of tricks is an Avon nailwear pro varnish which comes in a 12 ml bottle. The varnish is fortified with acrylic gel for strength and promises "12 days of lasting colour, shine and nick-resistant finish". Now that's quite a promise!
The first thing to note is that I remembered getting this varnish about 2 years ago when there was an Avon rep who covered the village. I used the varnish no more than twice at the time and it has been in my box untouched for at least 20 months. I was therefore pleasantly surprised to find that it was like using brand new varnish when I tried it recently.
I was also pleasantly surprised at how easily it was applied and the good coverage I got with just one coat. Adding another coat really did give a glossy very professional looking finish. In fact my nails looked as good as when I have Jessica GELeration applied.
My only niggle with it is that the colour on the nail doesn't quite match the colour in the bottle. The shade I have is called 'wicked' and in the bottle the varnish looks a really deep reddish brown but on the nail, there is no hint of red.
I always apply base coat to protect the nail - absolutely essential to avoid staining with this particular very dark colour - but on this occasion I didn't bother with a top coat. I was pleasantly surprised how well the varnish lasted. By day 4 I did do a quick refresh - there weren't any chips but the varnish was showing sign of wear at the tips. This got me through another 3 days so all in all it was a week before it was time for the varnish to come off. Not the 12 days promised but still pretty good going. Removal was
The price for a bottle is normally £6 but is often on offer.
I'm impressed with this varnish which gives a professional and high shine finish even though this particular shade wasn't quite what I expected. It didn't deliver on its 12 day promise but I'm not surprised. 7 days is still pretty good going in my book. Still I am knocking off one star - half for the colour and half for its unrealistic claim.
I always buy avon products, there is a lady who sells them at work and im always tempted by the offers and the clearance booklet. I was excited recently when I saw this on offer as I was going on holiday and wanted my nails to look nice.
The nail varnish is available in loads of different shades so you will always find a color that you like and I bought a few different ones that I thought would look good with my holiday outfits. I always like to paint my toe nails when we are on holiday too so wanted some choices.
When I got the nail varnish I was impressed by how it looked the colors I had chosen looked much better in reality than they had in the booklet. I found that the nail varnish was easy to apply and the brush was good quality not one of those that has all the bristles sticking out all over the place. The nail varnish seemed to dry really quickly. I am normally quite impatient and end up smudging it but with this within about 3 minute it was dry.
I found that the nail varnish lasted well and it was put to the test because I was doing quite a lot of swimming, I was also on the beach quite a lot yet it still lasted until I wanted to change the color I think it would last about a week if you didn't want to change it before that.
I was surprised by how good value they are, If you pay full price they are around but they are often on offer so you can pick them up cheaper.
I would definitely recommend these especially if you are someone who likes to change the color regularly because you can afford to get a few when they are on offer.
*Note I did suggest a new category for the new range but dooyoo have asked me to post my review here*
Nailwear Pro+ is a range of nail enamel offered by Avon. On the website and in the brochure, there are two ranges under Nailwear Pro+ and my focus will be on the new shades range.
This particular range includes four new shades which are a little different to the regular shades on offer as they all glittery. The shades in this range are :
Avon promote this nail enamel as being fortified with acrylic gel. Avon claim that this nail enamel has a 'Dura-Plus' complex and that the colour will last for 12 days without nicking or losing shine.
Each nail enamel is presented in a rectangular, clear glass bottle which has a smooth and stylish finish. A long brush is attatched to the inside of the lid. The bottle is presented in an outer box which is black in colour.
~Where To Buy~
A 12ml bottle of this nail enamel retails at £6.00 but is currently priced at £2.99 from www.avonshop.co.uk. It can also be ordered through your Avon rep.
I love painting my nails and adore glittery nail polishes. I ordered this nail enamel recently as I liked the look of the shades on offer. I opted for 'Cosmic Trip' which on the colour swatch, looks like a blue/black shade with lots of glittery particles. I am really glad that I only paid £2.99 for this as to be fair, I have found it to be rather disappointing. Read on..
The bottle is well designed and looks good in my opinion. The solid brush wand extends quite far into the bottle and appears to be of a good quality. Applying this nail enamel isn't a quick and hassle-free task. The liquid itself is very thin and watery even when the bottle has been shaken. I expected it to be a little thicker but it is drippy and sloppy to apply so my usual 'one stroke down the middle and then one at either end' method doesn't work well here. I applied this to my finger nails. This nail enamel has a typical nail polish smell at first but once dried, it has a sort of fizzy, sweet aroma which is pleasant.
This nail enamel does not go on evenly. The first coat dried within a few minutes or so but looked absolutely awful. Given how rich in colour the liquid looks in the bottle, I expected a solid blue/black colour on my nail with a glittery top - you don't get that. The dark colour is incredibly weak in strength and looks like a transparent, black tint rather than a full on black colour - very washed out and silly looking with random particles of glitter being noticeable. As with other glitter nail enamels, the glitter finish will never be identical on each nail as the liquid is dragged about with each stroke of the brush.
I applied a further two coats and with each coat, the main dark colour on my nail became slightly richer in colour but never quite looked right - it always appeared patchy. There is a good amount of glitter mixed through the nail enamel but it doesn't cling to my nails as much as with other brands such as Barry M. There is a nice mix of blue and silver sparkles but there is no bright shine or high impact glitter here. It is all very weak and boring looking. With most glittery nail enamels, they can be worn over the top of a block colour for a glitter finish. This Nailwear Pro+ nail enamel wouldn't be suitable for this purpose. Although it doesn't provide great coverage on its own, the black tint wouldn't look right over the top of another colour in my opinion.
So, the coverage is a bit disappointing but how long does this nail enamel remain in place for? I found that my colour dried quite solid on my nails and felt durable but despite being rather careful the first time I applied it, the nail enamel kept catching on things and chipped or became very flawed very easily. By the end of the day, it looked even more uneven. I have tried it with a protective top coat and this prolongs the durability of the nail enamel for a day or so. Whilst the most of the nail enamel would still be on the nails after 12 days, it would be badly nicked. It is easier to remove than other glittery nail enamels I have used but you do need to give it a scrub with a soaked cotton pad. I haven't noticed it staining my nails which is a positive with dark colours.
This nail enamel looked and sounded just what I was after but I was sorely disappointed in the quality, colour and longevity that it offered. The finish is very poor, uneven and lacking in intense shine and colour. It is most definitely not worth £6.00 and I actually feel quite cheated having paid £2.99 as I hate the way it looks on my nails. I think I will stick with Barry M as this nail enamel is of an inferior quality.
Thanks for reading :)
I am a hairdresser which means my hands are in and out of water all day and get covered in products and all sorts, this makes my nails very weak and prone to breaking. To try and stop my nails from breaking I keep them painted all of the time and (majority of the time) it works. I am always looking for new and different colours for my nails so when I get a new Avon catalogue through the first page I turn to it the page with the nail varnish on. I have almost every colour they have done and I love them! I only buy them when they are on offer as if not they are usually £6 which is really expensive.
When I first brought one of these nail varnishes it was in one of the clearance catalogues for just £2. At that price I couldn't resist and thought I would give it a go. When it came it was in a square glass bottle with a lack lid. The bottle was coloured by the polish inside (which was a bright coral colour).
I tried it out straight away and the first layer I put on came out very thin and didn't have much colour to it. While I was waiting for them to dry I wasn't feeling very hopeful that it was going to be any good. The first coat dried very quickly which I was impressed with and I started on the next coat. Once the second coat was done the colour had thickened up and it was the really bright colour that I was hoping for. After a couple of minutes the were completely dry and I was ready to go. After using it that one time I was hooked and couldn't stop buying them!
I love this product. All of the colours I have are always the colour they appear to be and they take barely any time to dry. Also you don't have to use much polish which means that they last a long time.
=Avon Nailwear Pro Nail Enamel=
I know this sounds awful, but I am not brand loyal to Nail Polish, if I see one, I like it, I buy it, and when I look through the Avon catalogue, I am always falling for a new nail polish so I have to be good and buy occasionally.
Just before Christmas I was going away and wanted quite a striking colour nail polish, and I found this nail polish, even better is was on half price at £3, I choose a green colour,"Noir Emerald" as I thought of Christmas trees.
The size of the liquid is 12ml.
I always give a bottle of nail polish a good shake before use, as I find this gives a good mix to the colour. The brush was a standard nail brush, and I could get a good sweep of colour I find that between 2 and 3 strokes cover the nail perfectly.
Even after one colour I could see that I had a good coverage, but with a 2nd cover it would deepen the colour. It took about 5 minutes to dry before I could put the 2nd coat on.
Wow the difference that the 2nd coat made was amazing, it not only gave the colour depth, it gave an even couverage
=Length of wear=
I did notice a few chips appearing on day 4, but considering we were in temperatures of minus 35 (we were kitted out) the nail polish kept its quality and shine. The colour was bright for 8 days, it was coming up to new year, so I fancied a change
=Would I recommend=
I would highly recommend this nail polish, even if you have to pay full price, the wear you get from the nail polish more than pays you back.
I recently purchased this nail varnish after flicking through the Avon catalogue. I was looking for a nail varnish which would go with a dress I had brought. I came across the Nailwear Pro+ range and thought it looked pretty and also because it made some impressive sounding claims about stay-ability!
I decided to go for the "Noir Emerald" shade, which looked like a nice shade of teal. I added it to my mum's order and eagerly awaited delivery. It came in plenty of time, as it took about a week for delivery. I started to do my nails in plenty of time, in case it needed multiple coats.
I opened the bottle, which was very user friendly to open and use rather than the bottles with a round lid which are just awkward to hold an apply! The brush is quite thick which makes application quite easy as it spreads over most of your nail in one go! It applies easily without either putting it on your skin (requiring a cotton bud and nail varnish remover and a very steady hand!); or without leaving brush streaks in the varnish! Also, it dried quickly, by the time I'd done one hand and loved on to the other, the first one was touch dry which is impressive compared to other brands!
When it has been applied, the colour of the noir emerald shade is absolutely gorgeous. It's a lovely shade of teal of really stands out. I put two coats on as I wanted it to be a gorgeous, deep shade of teal. After application, it stayed put for a good 4 days over Easter without so much as a chip. Avon claim that it is "ail enamel fortified with acrylic gel for strength which gives 12 days of lasting colour, 10 days of shine and nick-resistant finish" I didn't leave it on for the 10/12 days as I took it off before returning to work after Easter, however it wouldn't surprise me if it lasted that long!
This nail varnish cost me £3.50 from the Avon catalogue which I think is excellent value for money. Firstly because of how well it stays on and keeps looking shiny and lovely. Secondly, because it applies so well and isn't fiddly to put on like others are! There are a range of different colours and different shades. I only have the noir emerald shade, but will definitely be investing in some more as it's one of the best types and best value I've found for a long time!
I only ever wear nail varnish on my fingers for special occasions, although I think it looks lovely, I simply haven't got the time to maintain them once applied. Last year for our works Christmas Party, I had brought a gorgeous green dress and decided to treat myself to some matching nail varnish. We always have an Avon catalogue floating around at work so I decided to buy their Pro-Wear in one of the new shades as it was on offer.
The recommended retail price is £6 for a 12ml bottle, however I choose one of their new shades, there was an introductory half price offer for £3. It is available from your local representative or online but then there are postage charges applicable. There are loads of different colour choices available, I choose Noir Emerald.
Application is really easy, the brush is quite wide, wide enough to be able to cover my nails in just a couple of sweeps, it covered really evenly although I did find that I needed a couple of coats to get an even coverage. I was really impressed with the results; the colour was really deep and pretty and matched my dress perfectly. I would recommend applying two coats, especially with a darker colour as the colour deepens with two applications.
The only downside to the product was that I found it didn't dry very quickly, despite leaving a good 10 minutes the varnish was still very soft and I got dents and marks on it very easy. Avon boast that the product offers a nick resistant finish, and that the colour will shine for 10 days, I found this was a pretty good statement to make, although after a few days, a few small chips had started to appear, the colour did indeed stay nice and bright for just over a week (by this time I had decided to remove the colour).
Overall, I would recommend the nail varnish, even at £6, this is still a good buy but if you can get it when on offer, it is a great product - I will be buying this rather than No 7 from now on.
Thanks for reading.
I own a rather ridiculous amount of nail polishes, which will probably take me a lifetime to use. However, when looking through an Avon brochure a few months ago my attention was drawn to their Nailwear Pro+ Nail Enamel, which has been formulated with acrylic gel for strength. The enamel also contains dura plus complex, which I believe is a trademark owned by Avon. Whilst there is an array of colours from which to choose I decided on the Sea Breeze with this review discussing my experience.
Avon market the enamel as offering lasting colour for twelve days in addition to ten days of shine, which in all honesty, went over the top of my hand, as I didn't believe there was any nail polish that could meet this rather ambitious claim. Whilst I would previously sport the most stunning strong talons, I have recently been suffering with slight weakness and as a result, my nails were splitting and subsequently snapping. Consequently, my purchase of this particular product was solely due to the acrylic gel ingredient.
We are provided with 12 ml of nail enamel, which is contained in an oblong shaped glass bottle. I favour the style of the long oblong shaped lid as I find those that are cylindrical can cause problems when unscrewing the bottle especially when it has been opened a good few times, as dried polish gathers underneath the lid. In addition, the smooth lid enables an easy grip and offers comfort whilst I paint my nails. The brush is of a good size with quality bristles, which only spread over the nail itself as opposed to fanning out and touching my skin. I normally begin with a base coat and finish off with a clear top coat, but in order to fully assess the benefits of the product I used it directly on my bare and clean nails.
I would describe Sea Breeze as a Spring and Summer colour, as it is of an eye-catching turquoise blue and I find that two coats are required to provide a deep level of cover, as one coat is a little too pale. The drying process is pretty good and I wait only a minute or so before applying the second coat, which takes around three minutes to fully dry. The enamel offers a high level of shine to my nails, which is a point I favour with nail polishes.
Despite my hands being constantly in hot water due to washing dishes and cleaning, I am impressed with the longevity of the enamel, as it lasts approximately eight days before displaying any signs of chipping, which is solely on the tips of my nails. Avon claims that the enamel contains a nick-resistant finish and I must admit that I was very pleasantly surprised, as the enamel seemed far more durable than other brands that I've worn. As Sea Breeze is a fairly pale shade, I am easily able to touch up the tips of my nails without spoiling their overall appearance although this proves to be difficult when wearing a darker colour. An issue I've experienced with a few other brands is that the colour sometimes transfers to any papers that I've touched, which is a little embarrassing when I've completed a task in work only to find it scattered with nail polish "crayon marks". However, I cannot speak of suffering with this issue whilst wearing this enamel.
The shine meets Avon's claim of ten days although it is at this point that I need to remove the enamel, as further chips tend to make an appearance. I find the quality of the enamel to be extremely impressive and I have to admit that I really did not expect quality results, as I was of the opinion that it would be a normal run-of-the mill product that would need to be removed after around five day's of wear. Due to my positive experience I have made four further purchases with my favourite colour being Cherry Jubilee, which as the name would suggest, is a stunning vibrant red. The only issue I have experienced with using the darker colours without a base coat is that they tends to stain the nails, which is not a look I favour. Consequently, I always prepare my nails with a base coat if I intend to wear a dark shade. The polish is easily removed by way of a normal nail polish remover.
The enamel is normally priced at £6 per bottle, but I was fortunate to obtain mine at a discounted price, but when making a comparison with other brands I'm of the opinion that the full price represents excellent value for money. Nailwear Pro+ is available in a large range of shades with the lightest being clear and the darkest being liquorice. At the time of writing you can make a purchase for just £3.49 per bottle, which is an excellent price for such a quality product. Despite the enamel not achieving Avon's twelve day claim, I am still more than satisfied and can award nothing less than a five star rating and Avon's Nailwear Pro+ Nail Enamel receives a high recommendation from me.
I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading.
I needed a metallic nail polish for over christmas, I am generally a bit of a nail polish snob, I like my big brands OPI and Nails Inc being my favourite. A quick browse through my Avon catalogue and I came across Avon Nailwear Pro Nail Enamel.
The claims are:-
that it is fortified with acrylic gel for extra strength.
12 days of lasting colour.
10 days of shine
and a nick-resistant finish
The bottle is 12ml in size and the enamel comes in up to 30 colours.
At £2.50 on offer from £6 I thought this seemed a bargain buy.
I purchased a bottle in Starry Sky a metallic silver. The bottle is square so impossible to roll in your hands as you are supposed to do with nail polish to mix the colour, shaking encourages air bubbles to form! Upon opening the bottle the odour is pretty overpowering, really strong! The brush is great you can apply using 3 strokes and it applies the polish neat and even.
I applied one coat the first time I used the polish it dried really quickly within seconds. I thought the polish looked great and was happy with the appearance of one coat. However it seemed to wear away. Not chip just fade in places. The next time I used the polish I applied 2 coats and was really happy with it, it stayed neat and didnt chip for several days, as it started to look a little dull I applied another coat around 3 days later, The shine came back.
When it came to removing the polish it was really easily wiped away with a little nail polish remover.
I think this was a great purchase, I now apply 2 coats everytime and I am really happy with it.
When it comes to nail varnish, there are quite range of products and brands to choose from. I tend to try different types of nail varnish brands which is sometime a result of a colour that seems to look different and fresh, and sometimes I try different brands due to recommendation from friends. I have in the past not been a huge fan of nail varnishes, mainly due to the time taken to apply the varnish and the waiting around while the coats dry. However the introduction of the newer Avon Nailwear Pro Enamel means that I am now a frequent user of nail varnishes, and find myself applying nail varnish before every social event.
AVON NAILWEAR PRO NAIL ENAMEL RANGE
There are quite a range of colours available from the Avon Pro range; which is great, meaning there is a colour to suit everyone and for all type events and outfits. Some of the colours available depending on seasons include: Clear, Coral Reef, Cherry Jubilee, Deluxe Chocolate, Dynamo, Perfectly Flesh, Viva Pink, Decadence, Gleaming Gold, Midnight Plum, Real Red, Rose Quartz, Romance, and Violetta Sparkle.
The nail varnish comes in a small 12ml glass bottle that is square shaped, and has a black coloured screw top lid that holds the brush and can be easily unscrewed and screwed on. I found that the square shaped bottle was nice and small, and held enough nail varnish to last a while. The design of the bottle made it easy for me to hold and easy to grip onto while applying the varnish; meaning that it very rarely smudged and had an overall well presented shiny glistening finish. The nice wide shaped brush made it easy to apply, resulting in neater strokes of colour on my nails.
The new improved formula from Avon meant that the varnish was more durable and less prone to chipping. I found that I could easily wear this nail varnish for up to around 7 days without any visual evidence of chipping, meaning I didn't have to spend time reapply the colour after a few days unlike others I have used in the past. Also I found that the colour that you put on your nails is the colour that you see on the bottle; as more than often in the past I have used colours that haven't met my expectations.
A great advantage is its drying time, as it dries quickly (within 50 seconds) meaning I can easily get on with other things while getting ready to go out. Also one coat is usually good enough, which means the varnish lasts a lot longer than other brands.
I purchased mine from a Avon catalogue, and was priced at around £6. The price is reasonable, considering the quality and the longevity of the product. I would be happy to pay for another bottle once mine finishes.
Overall what I particularly love about this new Avon Pro is the wide range of colours available, and the shine and sparkle that radiate from the colours. The saturated colours are applied smoothly and I also found that when it came to removing the varnish from the nails it was very easy to remove which for me is a great added factor.
I have not normally been a big fan of buying out of Avon, but as my sister started running it I seemed to have no choice but to order a good few items.
With one of my orders I got this nail varnish which came as a free gift, I think the retail price for this is around £3, the nail varnish does come in many different colours, although I did not get the choice of what colour as it was a free gift and mine came in purple. I did not seem really keen to be honest that the colour was purple, but once I got it I did decide to give it a go.
The bottle is just like any other nail varnish with Avon printed largely on the front and nailwear pro+ printed underneath that in smaller letters. The bottle is see through so that you can see what colour the nail varnish is going to be.
On opening the bottle the nail varnish does smell pretty strong, I found it smelt stronger than most others I have used before. Lifting the brush out I was dreading applying he colour as I thought it was too dark and too purple but I had to try it. I started to apply the nail varnish, and was quite shocked at how well it applied to my nails, one little stroke of the brush was all it took, I have had nail varnishes that I have needed to apply several layers, but one was all this took, and the colour did look good too, it was dark but I actually thought it looked quite good. The nail varnish also dried in a matter of minutes so no long waiting for it to dry which I was also pleased about.
Now this was going to be the test to how long it would last before it chipped, for some reason when ever I wear nail varnish it will chip on the first night and the next day I have to remove it. This one did actually last around 3 days before it started chipping which is good for me, and although it started chipping it was only small bits on the end of the nails, so could still be worn for another couple of days, I could have tried to touch it up but I find it never looks as good, so I just took it off after about 5 days.
I would recommend this to buy as when I need more I will be buying this as I found it was one of the best nail varnishes I have ever used. It was easy to apply, dried quickly and lasted longer than most do, so I do think it would be worth the money to buy it again.

The product I am reviewing is by Avon and is a nail enamel fortified with acrylic gel for strength. The product claims to give you 12 days of long lasting colour and up to 10 days of shine. The product also claims to give a glossy and finish and to be chip resistant. My sister handed me an Avon catalogue a few weeks ago so I decided to purchase a few items from there to try. The nail enamel is available to buy in over 20 different shades which include pinks, reds, blue, purple and other colours. I actually purchased a metallic silver looking colour which was called 'Starry Sky'. I thought silver would be the perfect colour to wear during the party season but could also be worn for a night out on the town as well. The nail enamel comes in a black box which states what the product it. It also has some other information, most of this which is in a foreign language so I don't have a clue what it says. On the top of the box it states what colour product you purchased. When you open the box there is yet more information on the inside of the box such as warning information and a list of ingredients. Again this information is in a number of different languages. The nail enamel comes in a rather flat bottle which is quite tall and holds 12ml of the product. The lid to the nail enamel is black and is a squared shape. You can clearly see the colour of the nail enamel in the bottle. This particular colour (Starry Sky) was a lovely silver colour which looked slightly glittery and metallic. I couldn't wait to try the product out. The full price of this product is £6.00 which seems quite expensive for nail enamel; how-ever I did purchase this when it was on offer for £3.51. You can also purchase this from Avon's website for the reduced price.
Using the Product

Before I apply any main nail varnish colour I always use Barry M all in one for a basecoat. After this had dried I then got ready to apply the nail enamel. I shook the bottle well and as I did this I could hear the metal ball bearing in the bottle. The brush to the nail varnish was slightly wider than on other products I have used before; how-ever there was a good amount of the nail enamel on the brush ready to apply. The nail enamel painted onto my nails easily using 2 brush strokes. The colour looked great and really metallic looking but I would definitely need to apply at least another coat for best results. The nail enamel didn't take too long to dry; how-ever I gave it some extra time before I got ready to apply another coat to my nails. Once I had completed a 2nd coat my nails look fantastic. I loved the finished results. My nails looked really eye catching with the metallic silver nail enamel which looked really festive and caught the light whenever I moved my hand. My nails had a lovely smooth finish to them which made the finishing results look even better.

Day 1 - I went to work and carried out my normal duties which involves packing orders, moving boxes, stock replenishment and typing on the computer. I find that with some nail polish it starts to wear off around the tips of the nails due to me typing on the computer. I was pleasantly surprised when I check my nails at the end of the day. The nail enamel hadn't worn off at all, not even around the tips of the nails. The colour still looked brilliant and still had the lovely silver metallic look to it. I was very impressed and hoped that these results would last for a few more days before I noticed any chips or the nail enamel wearing off.
Day 2 - I went to work again and carried out all the work I normally would. When I got home I looked at my nails to see how they were looking. There was now some slight wear showing which was at the tips of the nails. Some of the nail enamel was wearing off at the tips of each nail, how-ever this was only very slightly and wasn't really that obvious unless you took my hand and had a good look. As the nail enamel was starting to show some obvious signs of wear I was expecting to have to completely remove the nail enamel in approximately 2-3 days before my nails started to look too scruffy.
Day 3 - I was at work again and looked at my nails during the afternoon. I know had a few noticeable chips in the nail enamel in 1-2 nails. The nail enamel had also started to wear off a little around the cuticle area. The nails didn't look that bad, how-ever as it had started to chip and wear off I intended on taking the nail enamel off within the next 1-2 days.
Day 4 - There was now noticeable wear around the tips of my nails from where the nail enamel had worn off and you could see the tips of my nails. The rest of the nail seemed to still be covered in nail enamel apart from a few chips here and there on each nail. I decided that it was now time to remove the nail enamel as I wanted to re-paint them in another colour ready for the weekend anyway. To remove the polish I put some nail varnish remover onto a cotton wool pad and rubbed gently at the nail. I did have rub a few times as first to start working the nail enamel off but once I had rubbed the nail a few times it came off without me having too rub too hard at the nail.
= = = = = = =
I was really impressed with the colour of the nail enamel and I thought the colour was beautiful and perfect for the festive season. The colour was really easy to apply and gave a professional finish to my nails. I was impressed at how long the nail enamel lasted after wearing it to work as normally some nail polishes only last about a day before wearing off or chipping. If I had painted my nails and not gone to work I am confident that the nail enamel would have stayed looking better for much longer. In terms of value at full price the nail enamel is a lot more than what I would normally pay for a nail polish, how-ever I don't mind paying a bit more for fantastic colours and a nail enamel that stays on without chipping or wearing off, which this one clearly does better than others I have tried. I will be purchasing more colours when my sister gives me a new Avon book and I look forwards to trying them. I highly recommend this nail enamel and it's one of the best nail enamels I have tried.

WHAT IS IT?
A collection of nail varnishes from the Avon catalogue. Nailwear Pro is available in lots of different colours from bright reds and pinks to pale lilac and even a dark green.
Nailwear Pro is easy to apply because it has a thin brush that lets you define the edges of your nail and doesn't fan out to make a mess of the straight edges. The square lid is a bit hard to handle sometimes and this is worse when my hands are cold but I've got used to it now. The nail varnish is quite thin and the brush collects a lot every time I dip it into the bottle so I always wipe it on the inside neck of the bottle to make sure I don't put too much varnish onto my nail.
WHAT I THINK
I like Avon Nailwear Pro nail varnish but only as an everyday varnish because it is cheap and there are good colours available. I wear it myself and offer it as a choice to my ladies when they are having a manicure, it is not very popular with them because I offer higher quality brands also.
It takes a long time to dry because of the varnish being thin but if you are applying more than one coat you do not have to wait until the first is completely dry. Some of the shades chip very easily but other ones do not chip at all, the best long lasting one is called Romance and it is a pale pink lilac colour. It is a beautiful shade for a wedding or if you do not like bright colours for daytime wear. I change my nail varnish very often and so have only worn Nailwear Pro for a maximum of 3 days but in that time it doesn't chip very often and the colour stays bright.
I use 3 coats of most of the shades and that is because the nail varnish is so thin that the colour isn't very deep. It takes time to apply this nail varnish properly so do not try to rush it. The thin brush lets you create basic nail effects like coloured French manicures or polka dots and that is nice because the colours in the Nailwear Pro collection all complement each other.
Nailwear Pro can only be bought in the Avon book or online. It costs about £5 for a 12ml bottle but because it is so thin it lasts, I have got a bottle that is at least 2 years old and the nail varnish inside it is still perfect.
4 Dooyoo Stars.
I have quite a few bottles of Avon nailwear pro nail polish.
~ Price and availability ~
It is available online in 10 different colours, but there are other Avon ranges such as Avon nailwear pro+ and speed dry. My favourite colours in this nail polish are Cherry Jubilee (a dark red, not currently available on the website) and Decadence (a lovely deep purple colour).
It is available to buy from the Avon brochure through your local Avon representative or it is available online at www.avonshop.co.uk.
The nail polish is usually priced at £6.00, but is currently on offer online for £3.00 per 12ml bottle.
~ Packaging ~
The nail polishes come in a fairly plain black box.
The bottle is fairly large for a nail polish. It is quite flat and rectangular and it is made from clear glass. It has a tall square black plastic lid.
The bottle has a clear sticker on the front with 'Avon nailwear pro' on it in white lettering and '12ml' towards the bottom of the bottle.
The bottle is a very simple design, but it looks good.
There is a small white round sticker on the bottom of the bottle with the name of the shade on it.
~ Use ~
The lid twists off easily and has an attached brush as you'd expect.
The nail polish does not smell too strongly and it is not an unpleasant smell.
The nail polish is easy to apply and I find it fine to use without a base coat and I also don't feel the need to apply more than one coat even though I do apply it quite thinly.
Using the purple colour I have (Decadence) I find that if I apply it thickly it appears a much darker colour than if I only use a thin coating of it. I prefer the lighter purple colour that applying a thinner coat results in.
The nail polish dries at an average rate. It probably takes a few minutes for it to completely dry. It obviously takes a bit longer if you have applied a thicker coat.
I have found the longevity of the nail polish to be really good. On my toenails it lasts for weeks, but on my fingernails it starts to chip after about 3 days, which is as good as the best nail polishes I have used as I guess I use my hands a lot.
I like these nail polishes and I think they have a good range of colours. I have had many compliments and people asking where my nail polish is from while wearing these nail polishes.
It is also easy to remove with nail polish remover.
~ Conclusion ~
I like this nail polish. You only need to apply one coat, it is easy to apply and easy to remove, when required. It doesn't smell too bad and it dries at an average rate.
It is fairly long lasting for a nail polish and I have found that the bottles last a long time. It lasts around 3 days on my nails before chipping, which for me is really good.
The nail polish is regularly on offer and for this reason I would be reluctant to pay the full price of £6.00 for it, when it is likely to be in the next Avon brochure for half the price.
