Disadvantages: Will not last the 10 days as promised.
===Why I Bought This===
I do sell Avon among a few close frieds so although I cannot get out much I have ready access to the cosmetic's catalogue and so am able to treat myself to some different make-up products when on offer - and this is how I purchased my nail enamel.
Avon is a long established direct seling network which used to sell just door-to-door but you can order directly from their website these days if you do not have a local representative handy.
12 ml glass bottle of nail enamel.
The bottle is square fronted and quite shallow in depth.
The screw top lid is in black plastic and is smooth and square.
24 months shelf life after opening.
The bottle comes in a cardboard box.
Supposed to have 10 day staying power.
Nail enamels are priced at £5 full price but Avon often has lots of offers and currently you can purchase four nail enamels for £10.
Nailwear Pro is the main line of nail polish produced by Avon. They also have a more basic range called Avon Trend which tends to be cheaper.
I purchased a shade called 'Romance' which is a light pink shade bordering on violet or lilac. It also has a slight glittery/pearly sheen to it - but it is not actual glitter at all and is quite unobtrusive when worn and not at all garish.
This shade has fallen foul of Avon's continual revamping of their brands and colours, which is a pity as it is pretty in an understated sort of way - and also being so light in colour it does not show when it starts to chip.
Regrading application - this enamel went on well and covered in one coat and was perfectly wearable as it was. If I was going somewhere special I would tend t do two coats. I do not use base or top coats. The enamel was touch dry very quickly and dried without any streaks. It was also a good consistency to apply - not being too gloopy or too runny. It also dried to a nice shiny finish.
However it nowhere near lasted the ten days that Avon was claiming - not that I expected it to. I do not use rubber gloves or look after my nails or my polish in any way - so I apply my polish on the day it is needed -and then forget about it. However for those in work who want tidy nails every day I would advice sticking to the lighter shades - unless you want to keep touching it up.
I have seen it mentioned that some people do not like the square shaped top and the fact that it has smooth sides. I did not find this awkward myself but I suppose some improvements might make the top applicator easier to handle.
As I said Avon continually bring out new shades so it is pointless me listing what is now available. However they tend to cover most preferences -from nude beiges and pale pinks to the more fashion colours of navy, green and yellow.
They have also brought out a newer version called Nailwear Pro+ which is fortified with acrylic to give 12 days of wear - but I have not tried that yet - though it does come in new exciting shades of blue and orange.
Avon also do a Speed Dry+ range but again I have not tried this - but the ordinary Nailwear Pro dries perfectly quickly enough for me.
4 stars - as it is not as long lasting as advertised.
===Would I Recommend?===
Yes - but you will be very lucky to get it to last 10 days.
Summary: Good colour choice, easy to apply but may chip after a couple of days.
