Avon Nailwear Pro+ Nail Enamel
Advantages: Nice colours, easy to apply
My Nanna is an Avon lady so when it comes to Christmas and birthdays, I always tend to get quite a lot of Avon cosmetics. Something that I get quite often is nail polish even though my Nanna knows I normally have my nails done elsewhere. However, I still need my toe nails painting so it isn't a complete waste.
== Price and availability ==
As this is an Avon product, it is generally only available from an Avon representative or from the online shop. You can get old and discontinued items on eBay though. The full price for this item is £6 but Avon always has offers so it is worth waiting to buy when these are on offer.
== The nail polish ==
This Pro Nail Enamel claims to be fortified with acrylic gel which should give 12 days of lasting colour and 10 days of shine and a nick resistant finish. When reading the packaging, I was a little dubious about these claims as I have never had a nail polish last this long when it has been one bought from a shop. Getting my nails done in a salon is different as they seem to use polishes which last forever!
I have quite a few colours in this collection but there are 19 to choose from and you can find them all here http://avonshop.co.uk/product/make-up/nails/avon-n ailwear-pro-nail-enamel.html. Currently, Inky Blue and Red Reveal are currently on offer for £3.50. Inky Blue is one of my favourites as it is a little different in colour compared to other blues I have found. I love that there is such a good range of colours to choose from as Avon really needs to be able to rival high street brands.
Something that I hate about painting my nails is having to put multiple coats on just to get the colour that you see in the bottle. That is not the case with this product. Pro Nail Enamel is quite thick and covered my toe nails in only one coat. The colour on my nails looked exactly like it did in the bottle so I was very pleased with the outcome. Also, this is a nail polish that doesn't take hours to dry. I'm quite careful walking around after painting my toe nails anyway but this one set and dried in a much quicker time than other nail polishes. It doesn't claim to be dry in a minute or anything but after about 10 minutes, my nails were ok to touch without smudging the polish.
The brush that comes with the nail polish was also great. It wasn't too thick that the liquid went everywhere once it was out the bottle but it also wasn't so thin that it took many strokes to cover my nail. I managed to get my toe nails covered in 1 stroke for each and I would say you could probably do finger nails in 2-3 strokes which means application doesn't take long at all.
As I said earlier, this product made claims about how long the polish would last etc. As I only painted my toe nails, these claims were pretty spot on but toe nail polish always seems to last longer than it does on finger nails. Two weeks after painting my toe nails, the colour is still shiny and there are no chips to be seen anywhere. I'm not sure whether this would be the case if I painted my finger nails.
== Overall ==
Although this nail polish is quite expensive when not on offer, there is a great range of colours and they look nice when used. I'm glad I haven't paid for this myself but I do like the outcome for my toes.
Summary: A good nail polish
