      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Good dea but a poor range of shades.

      ===The Product===

      Avon Extra Lasting Eyeshadow Stick.
      Made in Germany and use within 12 months.
      Shrink wrapped with full ingredients inside wrapper.
      4.5 inch black tube with red lettering.
      Pull off cap. Twist up stick of shadow - 1 inch long.

      ===Cost===

      Full price £7 - currently for sale for £3.

      ===Variations===

      Currently only comes in four colours:
      * Blue Wave (a sort of slate blue)
      * Classic Grey
      * Diamond (white)
      * Moonstone (sort of beige, light brown).

      ===My Opinion===

      I have not tried these for many years but have seen them regularly in the catalogues so thought I would try one again as a change from my normal powder shadows.
      Unfortunately the colour choice these days is not very wide so I settled on the Moonstone which I thought would be a good neutral light brown.
      The eyeshadow itself comes in a stick form like a crayon or lipstick and is around 1 inch long. It has a flat slanted top. It has to be twisted up gently a little at a time - mine came apart when I opened it (that is the crayon part fell out of the holder) so I ended up with a very messy stick.
      Anyway the colour looked reasonable in the stick so on a day when I just wanted to have a neutral sort of eye makeup I decided to give this a try.
      It is sort of waxy and actually goes on your eyelid quite well, and stays, not needing lots of blending and it lasted right up until bedtime on me.
      The problem with my 'neutral' shade is that it is so neutral you hardly can tell you are wearing anything at all. I suppose I could have built up the colour by plastering more on but I do not want to have really thick layers of makeup around my eyes and I think it would hae been dragging on my eyelid to have kept rubbing the stick back and forth.
      It did not crease into my eyelids and came off quite well when I removed it.
      This would probably be a good product I think if they did a wider colour range. Looking on ebay they sell a range of eight colours so perhaps Avon will have more on sale another time.
      I shall be returning my eyeshadow stick - for two reasons - firstly it got damaged when I first opened the case and also it does not give enough colour - perhaps a different shade might work better.

      ===Star Rating===

      3 stars

      ===Would I Recommend?===

      Yes.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Use this as a base for your eyeshadow for long lasting colour

      ==Overview==

      Avon Perfect Wear Eyeshadow is one of my all time favourite products from Avon. The makeup can be hit and miss and I've tried enough to know which is a hit and which is a miss - this product for me is a huge hit. At the moment Avon don't offer it for sale but they regularly re-incarnate products under a new name so keep an eye out for them. It typically costs around £7 when it is full price but as with all Avon product, it is usually on offer.

      ==My Opinion==

      The Perfect Wear Eyeshadow looks like a lipstick to apply to your eye. The stick is creamy like a lipstick and is applied directly to the eye. I personally find the makeup drags across the eye and if you want to get a decent colour out of it and decent application in my humble opinion it isn't very good. However, the 'Diamond' colour is a white colour which I use as a base for my eyeshadows. I have used the colour for years and find it a very, very cheap alternative to eyeshadown primers or bases. The white colour is basically just a neutral colour for your eyeshadow to stick to so it doesn't need to have a great colour or great coverage, just as long as you have vaguely dragged the colour over the eyelid, it acts as a great base for putting eyeshadow on top of. The thing I love most about it is that it lasts for literally hours and hours, through a really long day at a wedding or a really long night, my eyeshadow ALWAYS comes home looking as good as it did when I left and it is all due to using this product as a base for the eyeshadow powder. It doesn't crease on the eye and literally is just 'perfect wear' for your eyeshadow. There are more colours in the range but I find that the Diamond (white) colour doesn't alter the colour of the eyeshadow you are trying to put over the top. I have a brown colour in this product too and although it performs in the same way, the colour on top (even if brown) is affected so I just stick to the Diamond now.

      ==Overall==

      I would say this is terrible as an eyeshadow but AMAZING as an eyeshadow base or primer and a lot cheaper than the alternatives. You can still get hold of this on eBay or Amazon but undoubtedly Avon will repackage it and bring it back under a different name as they have done many times before. Keep an eye out for it, it is definitely one to keep in your makeup bag!

      Disadvantages

      An eye shadow which looks and works like a crayon but creases when wearing

      As I have had a good clear out of my makeup bag I decided to take advantage of the Avon book which I had just had delivered. The first thing which I decided on was a new eye shadow as I am a little bored of wearing nude and brown colours, for the summer months I wanted something a little lighter so opted for a blue one. The product which struck me was the Perfect Wear Eye shadow stick as it looked simple and easy to apply.

      The eye shadow comes in a black plastic case, it has a gold trim around the middle with a picture of the eye outline on it. There is no Avon logo on the outside of the stick but under the lid it is embossed on the side of the tube. When pulling the end of the case off you find the eye shadow inside. It is in a cut away end of the stick and this is angled for easier use. The overall size of the eye shadow is 11cm by 1.5cm.

      It is simple to use the eye shadow and to do this us just really have to draw it on the eyelid. I did find that it took quite a few strokes to get a noticeable amount of colour and that I did have to press quite hard to get this. The eye shadow covers the eye quite evenly and smooth and does look rather nice. The only thing which I had a problem with at first was the fact that it seemed to take a few moments to dry, it felt rather tacky on the lids for a good 2 minutes but this did go away once the colour was dry. After wearing this for about 30 minutes and checking it in the mirror I was rather disappointed as there was a massive crease on both lids. The colour had all clumped together on the crease of the lid and looked rather messy and I found I had to then reapply the shadow to smooth the crease and get an even coverage again.

      There are some plus sides to the shadow, the fact that it is not a powder means none of it comes off the brush and goes on the dressing table top of my clothes and the colour is lovely. I have found that this is not overly bad to wear for everyday if you are not working for too long as the re application is quite simple but I would not suggest this for a night out as you will be forever going to find a mirror to smooth it out then it get you quite paranoid about whether it has creased again or not.

      There was a good feeling of moisture from this eye shadow which I did like and I also fond it very easy to remove, a simple dab of baby lotion on a cotton wool ball will mean only one or two gentle wipes over the eye to ensure that it has all been removed. I have not had any drying of the eyelids from wearing this on the odd time I have taken the plunge and spent time working on the creases.

      The eye shadow comes in a variety of colours, diamond, blue wave, lovin lilac, moonstone, classic grey and zest. The one which I choice was the blue wave and it is a lovely light baby blue colour. The colour is easy to achieve when a few hard application are applied and I would be tempted to try the other colour if not for the few problems I have had. There is definitely a nice light summery feel to these colours and I think the choice is very good. The eye shadow is only available from Avon and it is priced at £6.50. I did manage to get mine on offer for £5 which I think is a little more reasonable.

      The shelf life of the eye shadow is 24 months and the packaging is unfortunately not recyclable.

      I would love to be able to give this eye shadow a higher rate as I love the colour and design, I have compromised at 3 stars due to the love of the colour but the amount needed to get the desired colour and the fact that it creases has put me off from buying more of them. I think if you are prepared to keep toping this up and smoothing the creases or only wanting to wear it for an hour or so then it may be better suited to you. A slightly disappointing buy from Avon.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A Great Avon Product

        I don't buy a lot of items from Avon as a rule. Not for any particular reason as the products I have tried from there have always been really good but it's not a brand I buy from often. However a few weeks ago my friend started selling Avon and gave me a book to have a look through and a few products did catch my eye one of which was this "Avon Perfect Wear Extralasting Eyeshadow Stick" which caught my eye basically because Ive never used anything like it before. Its like a lipstick for your eyes - but in the name of Dooyoo research I decided to buy two of them and try them out and I thought Id write about them today.

        Useful Information:
        Price: Around £3 - £4
        Stockists: Avon & Amazon sometimes sell Avon products.
        Shades: Grape, Moonstone, Zest, Blue Wave, Lovin Lilac, Perfect Petal, Classic Grey & Diamond. I personally bought the shades Diamond - which is a cream/light beige shade & Classic Grey - which you guessed it is grey. I bought those two shades because I was looking for colours I could wear everyday rather than on nights out and I found these 2 to be the most neutral.

        I have probably used the Diamond one the most so that is what I will concentrate on in this review.
        This looks exactly like a lipstick in appearance as that is kind of the idea. You twist it up at the bottom and then it is retracted inside once you've used it in the same was to stop it drying out and/or breaking as long as you remember to put it down every time you shouldn't have a problem with this breaking and it should last until its finished. The top of the stick is flat though and I would have liked it to be slightly angled which I think would make it easier to apply as no-ones got a totally straight, flat eyelid but even with that slight flaw I think application is still pretty easy that's just me personal feeling.

        Application of this apart from the top being slightly flat is very easy and much less messy than applying regular eye shadow or powder I think. You basically apply this all over your eyelids exactly like you would apply lipstick to your lips and even though it will never dry totally you can open your eyes straight away without it smudging everywhere. This is easy to apply on the go as there's no need for an extra brush and it goes on quickly and easily with minimal effort - much less than is required for normal eyeshadow anyway. At first because of its quite creamy texture it does feel a bit heavy on your eyes but that feeling quickly goes and it does end up feeling super light you wont be able to tell your wearing eye colour.

        The colour goes on really evenly straight away and you do get a nice, bold colour straight away although it is still light and shimmery enough to wear during the day but could be layered up for a darker colour if your wearing it at night. The Diamond shade really does make my eyes look more awake and much wider yet I still look really natural and like minimum effort has been put in - but still looking good - every woman's dream! The only thing I will say is that if your a liquid liner wearer like I am it is near enough impossible to apply it over the op of this because the texture of it is so creamy. So don't bother - you'll be there for hours and it just doesn't work! Avon also claim that this lasts up to 8hrs without creasing which I think is a little ambitious - I find it lasts about 4 hours before creasing starts and I have to re-apply which isn't amazing but it is much longer than some eye shadows Ive tried in the past so Id say staying power is about average.

        On the whole though I do recommend this product because it looks great on, doesn't weigh down your lids, easy to apply and really cheap. If you can get hold of it I highly recommend it and Ill definitely be trying out more of the colours in the future.

        Thanks For Reading

          Disadvantages

          I bought this because I was sick of my eyeshadow wearing off half way through the day and I wanted one that had really good staying power. Although I bought this ages ago I can still clearly remember what it was like and soon I think I might even treat myself to another one, or two :)

          The shades you can buy this in are from my point of view all really nice and there aren't any there that I wouldn't like to wear.
          The shades are:
          *Diamond
          *Grape
          *Blue Wave
          *Lovin Lilac
          *Zest
          *Perfect Petal
          *Moonstone
          *Classic Grey

          They are all quite light and neutral sort of shades, and there are no really bright, bold, eye catching ones. So I think this range might be aimed more for women than teenage girls, although they would probably look nice on anyone really.

          The normal price for this is £6 which is a bargain already but look out for some great offers as I've seen Avon put some on these :)

          I really recommend these although they don't last a full day they do have great staying power and I always think they look gorgeous on my eyelids. I love them and apart from the small disadvantage which is they don't last all day I think they are faultless. And I have found you can get it to stay on all day if you put more on in the morning (but sometimes you might look caked in make up if you do this) .

            A Lovely New Eyeshadow Range From THe Avon Book

            I brought 2 of these ExtraLasting Eyeshadow Sticks from Avon when they were on special offer recently and they are quite good but they don't last for 8 hours like it said in the book.

            I brought Moonstone and Blue Wave and both of the colours are very nice and because the eyeshadow is a creamy stick it goes on smooth and neatly. I'm able to control how much I put on by being either heavy or light handed with the eyeshadow, this doesn't work so well with the brown Moonstone shade but the blue eyeshadow is easy to get the colour built up like that.

            I love how light the eyeshadow feels while I'm wearing it, being a cream I was half expecting it to be a heavier formulation like most of Avons other cream eyeshadows but you can't feel this on your eyes when you're wearing it at all. The colour lasts for a good 4 hours before it starts creasing but even then the colour doesn't fade and it's dead easy to apply a bit more of the colour over the top and get your eyes looking fresh again.

            The eyeshadow stays in place well and doesn't smudge over the day, like I said it creases a bit after a few hours but only into the big creases on my eye lids and that's not a problem because my eyes are usually open so you can't see it!

            The only problem I've got with these eyeshadows is because they go on creamy it's hard to apply pencil eyeliner over the top so I have to wear liquid eyeliner on the days that I'm wearing this stick eyeshadow because I can't be bothered to wait for the cream to dry enough to use my pencil.

            You can get a good look with these eyeshadows and I might get another few colours when they're on special next time. They're normally £6.00 each and I think that's a bit much for 1 eyeshadow but when Avon have them on offer they are a bit of a bargain, especially when they are on offer with the ExtraLasting Lipsticks as well because those are wicked too.
