sparkle and shine, not for me (Avon Perfectwear Extralasting Lip Colour)

Advantages: goes on nice and lasts well

I am not a big fan of make up and dont wear it as an every day thing but just when i am going out some where nice but i do like to use lip gloss on a daily basis to stop my lips looking so plain. My main bug bear with lip gloss had always been the amount of times i have to reapply it as it doesnt last very long so when i saw this advertised in the avon claiming to last up to 8 hours i thought it was worth a try and seen as it had been reduced from £8.50 to £5 wasnt going to break the bank either.

It is available in 6 colours none of which i was particularly keen on for a lip gloss as they are all a lot darker than what i would normally have chosen, there is berry enduring which is a burgandy colour, always mocha which is a dark brown, rosy resistance which is a red with a slight orange tinge to it, pink for life which is a very deep pink colour, stay pink which is a lighter pink and forever my honey which is a lighter brown.

I opted for stay pink as this is the lightest of the shades.

The lip gloss comes in a tube with the gloss at one end and the colour at the other attached in the middle by a black piece which has the aplicators attached to it.

Obviously you start with the colour, the aplicator for this is a tapered sponge that is very thin so is realy easy to use and get on your lips without making a mess every where, the gloss has a brush that is a little more difficult to use but you soon get the hang of it.

The colour went onto my lips nicely and evenly with just needing one coat which is great and was easy enough to use but has a very oily smell to it that i didnt like and would have prefered a natural or fruity smell, the gloss dryes quickly which helps to seal the colour in place to make it last longer and it did last a good few hours but no where near the 8 hours it claimed to, i was also not very impressed with the fact it is stated as a clear gloss but it is that shiny it looks like you have glitter in the lips, this would suit a teenager well but for me was too much for every day wear.

Summary: a great lip gloss for evenings but not every day wear
