Advantages: Looks nice, not too sticky, feels nice
Disadvantages: Plumping effect doesn't last
I bought this lip gloss a few months ago as I wanted to try something different to my usual gloss and it was on offer in the Avon brochure at the time. It costs £6 when it's not on offer.
The packaging is simple and plain, a clear square tube which you can see the colour of the gloss through and a black lid. It has a brush applicator rather than the sponge-tip I was expecting.
The brush is easy to use and a good size, but I would still have preferred a sponge-tip as I find them easier to use, especially when I don't have a mirror handy, brushes can be a little trickier.
When I apply this gloss my lips really tingle, at first I thought it was going to get painful, but it stops just short of actually hurting. This tingling feeling is the plumping action of the gloss getting to work, and within a few seconds my lips do look a little plumper, though it's not especially noticeable.
The colour I chose is called nude pout, which looks very pink in the tube but it goes on as more of a natural nude colour which is not too different from my natural lip colour. It gives a nice sheer wash of colour and shine rather than a bold colour like a lipstick. The effect of the gloss is a subtle shiny healthy look, rather than a full-on wet-look shine, and I think it looks very nice and natural.
It lasts quite well for a lip gloss and I find I only need to re-apply it every couple of hours. It feels nice on the lips, is not overly sticky, and it keeps them feeling moisturised and healthy. The only real problem with it is that the plumping effect only lasts minutes before my lips are back to normal, though the tingling feeling lasts longer.
This is a nice gloss but I don't think I'd buy it again as it didn't really do what it's supposed to.
Summary: A nice gloss, but not worthy of it's name
